May 5, 20188 yr When I fly using FSX-SE, after the flight I notice that I have many saved flights that are in my Documents/FSX Files folder. I have FSUIPC set to only save 2 in the autosave section. There are no saved files in the FSX Steam Edition Files however. Why would this happen and why do I have a folder for FSX files and one for FSX SE files? May 5, 20188 yr Administrators Did you have FSX installed on your computer before FSX-SE? If you uninstalled FSX, I think it doesn't delete that folder in My Documents. I may be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere. Charlie Aron AVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-Registrar Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and the purchase of a new system. May 5, 20188 yr Author Well, it's a new computer that I built last fall. I may have tried to install FSX back then. I will check my registry and see if there are left over files. I wasn't sure why I would have both in my documents folder. May 6, 20188 yr I have exactly the same problem, although I never had FSX installed on this computer neither have I tried to do so. So far I havn‘t found a solution to avoid those multiple saved flights. May 6, 20188 yr Author Thanks for that reply. For a two hour flight I may have as many as 70 autosaves? May 9, 20188 yr I don't have the expertise that others on here do, so I doubt I can solve the problem. I can tell you that I have never had the boxed FSX on my computer and have the same two folders in documents. Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition Files holds saved flights that are unavailable to be used. It seems to have some kind of storage function and that's how I use it. The ones in Flight Simulator X are the ones that will show up in your flight selection menu. (talk about counterintuitive!) Are you using MS OneDrive? It comes with the updated version of Win 10 and as with so many things from Microsoft, doesn't give you much say in the matter. It does create copies of files from FSX. Perhaps reinstalling FSUIPC may help? And last of all, I notice you have P3D4 as well as FSX-SE. Is there some possible connection? Hopefully my ramblings will spark some ideas from the experts. Good luck
May 9, 20188 yr Author Thanks for the reply. What you say makes sense. I don't use OneDrive, but it's on my system. Yes, MS does some strange things when they update. I just removed Steam from my system and now only use P3DV4.2.
