Does anyone have a link to somewhere where I can get decent profile views of Boeing AND Airbus liners? Preferably drawings that aren't cartoony. Like sometimes you see guys post pictures of the diagrams with liveries they've painted in photoshop and they look like artist designs...I'm looking for those type of drawings please. Thanks,ZACH

In real aircraft, how do instruments determine the distance to a beacon (VORTAC or ILS)?There are only two ways to find the distance to an object that I can think of: 1. triangulate - but this requires two sensors separated by some distance. 2. Time delay - Measure the time a signal originating at the beacon takes to reach the observer - but this requires synchronized clocks which aircraft and the beacons don't have. So, I'm at a loss.Does anyone know how these things work?

Ok while I visit 2 FS sites regularly: not everyone here visits the "other" one while the same goes for folks there. I am also sure people here have other interests so I am curious as to what sorts of sites and other even non-aviation interests are shared by the members of this site. I will share a few among many here now.My former Universities (BA(hons) and MA)http://www.acadiau.ca/http://www.carleton.ca/My current University:http://www.unige.ch/The Institute where I am preparing a PhD, Kofi Annan took a course here once.http://heiwww.unige.ch/My subject is the Cold War and I am interested in the former Communist countrieshttp://www.rferl.org/http://www.mtholyoke.edu/aca…

Also, any info regarding the bad business decisions by UAL After Sept 11 would be helpful too. Keep up the good work! Thank you for the kind words. The info regarding Goodwin appears below. I will attempt to find the other pages you referenced. - TM

Does anyone know what plane(s) Maggie O'Connell flew in the TV series 'Northern Exposure'? I've read somewhere that it was a Cessna 170 taildragger, but I'm sure I've seen an episode where she flew something with tricycle undercarriage... Pretty sure it was a Cessna, but not sure what...Anyone got any ideas?Regards,Dave.

Are there any utilities that would enable me to take multiple screenshots without having to exit FS each time? Before I upgraded to my GF3 I could pause and minimize without problems, but now I am getting messy graphics whenever I try this. Thanks!

I was watching a program on "Wings" last night about ATC - made well before last weeks Swiss/German crash. In it they were interviewing a Dulles air traffic controller who had a very similar experience. She was attempting to "seperate" two aircraft by instructing one to climb and the other to descend, TCAS kicked in on both aircraft and instructed both pilots to do the opposite of what ATC was telling them to do, resulting in a very near miss.Couple of questions :::1) Which instruction has priority for pilots ??2) Whose fault is it that TCAS & ATC conflict ?? Does TCAS work to certain rules and if so does ATC know what they are ?? (and if so why do they give conflicti…

Hi,Can anyone please tell me where in the UK I can purchase a folder in which I can store my Jeppesen and Aerad high and low altitude charts?I have searched many websites that claim to have wallets or folders but none of the descriptions are very clear as to what they hold and I don't want to go buying the wrong thing. The charts i'm talking about are the ones measuring about 5" x 10.5" when folded up.So if anyone has practical experience of getting the right thing can they please let me know where they got them from. Many thanks.Steve.

ExtremeTech has an article up on the despicable actions of a new series of commercial sites that offer "Download Accelerators" on the internet: including some of the most "reputable" sites there are (GameSpot is only the first). These new series of download accelerators are spyware of the most diabolical kind. Not only do they have the ability to report your download patterns to companies of unknown origin, but they include a COMPLETE spy component that:"has the ability to track distribution of its content via the publisher and through the downloader: if it was used, if it was opened, et cetera," Szelenyi said."This, my friends, IS Big Brother in its truest form.
