Calling all capable painters! I have asked for this livery on several occasions yet no one has attempted to do it. Because I really want this livery.. I thought I'd ask again. Could someone please do the first Air Canada (80's)livery for the B767-200 from the 1980's. This was a true classic! Many thanksTim

Look, I came to work on time.... I did exactly what the boss told me to do..... I followed all the rules..... never once gave the boss the bird.... Then the first time I ever had a chance to drive one of them there fork lifts..... one little mis-step.... and everyone runs around in circles screaming and shouting..... you'd think I blew the place up or something..... I don't understand it....... I didn't mean to do it....... It was an accident...... It could have happened to anyone......

I will restate my position once again, as succinctly as possible.I own no guns. Will not. Guns should be registered. All guns. Pilots should be able pack. They are completely capable. And hey, guess what gang. If the pilots had been packin Sept 11, it probably would never have happened. Could not have been worse, now could it. Should be voluntary. Pilots support the idea. Pilots oppose the idea. They make up their own minds. You make up yours.Cheers,bthttp://www.msnbc.com/news/769526.asp

There has been some confusion and outright misinformation spread about AVSIM hosting of FREE sites lately, and we would like to provide some clarity on what AVSIM's hosting policies are for those FREE sites. This does not apply to commercial organizations, and that is an entirely different message thread that I will post sometime.First, WE decide on what freewarre sites to host. We do not allow ourselves to be "strong-armed" into hosting anyone - nor do we allow anyone to dictate to us how we will host them, the features we MUST provide, how their site HAS to be structured, etc. If a potential partner is good for AVSIM, and we are good for them, then it is a pretty good b…

What is the maximum safe altitude for a non-pressurised aircraft to fly at? I'm asking this because FS2k2 says the Cessna Caravan can cruise at 20,000 feet, but surely that's far too high for an aircraft that as far as I know is unpressurized?

Okay, here is the message I promised about an hour or so ago....Thanks to Mike Hambly (the sound guru, if you didn't know), we were able to track down Mr. Ferdy and his activity here on AVSIM.Before going any further, have a look at this AVSIM Log File: http://ftp.avsim.com/~mattj/ferdy-logsNow, we are guessing that not all of those downloads over the past 13 days or so are Mr. Ferdy, but we are willing to bet that a majority are. And that is quite a bit of bandwidth!!! It turns out that Mr. Ferdy's ISP is a very large Spanish one, so it follows that a minority of those downloads were from someone other than he. However, our Tech Guys took it one step further and matched …

This is such a stupid question. But, someone will know the answer and help me out. Yes, I shall spare the details, too. There is a great site, great airplanes, and magnificent textures. Aircraft are primarily older airlines from the 60's and 70's. The site closed down for a few months, and re-opened perhaps a month ago. All of us rushed to the site to download the airplanes, taking days to get through. What is their name and site address? I've racked my brain for 2 days. I've gone through the boards looking, as I remember there was a "Welcome Back" posting. Someone help me!! Thanks.

OK...I have this pop up problem....I am running WIN XP PRO. I paid a visit to a site which has some music (mpgs on it) when a pop up ad appeared. I closed the annoying ad and a requester asked if I wanted to "install a new" feature to IE 6. I closed that (choose NO) and moved onto another site. This time it was AVSIM (not AVSIM's fault) and when I clicked to download a file two requesters came up. Not paying that much attention I accidently accepted both of them. Well one of the files was a script or a plug in or some that added to my IE6 files. NOW at random times I get this annoying pop up ad for porn. I don't even have to be in Explorer. I could be playing a game or in…

Lately there have been numerous fires aounrd the LA area. This night, on the news, I saw a taker trowing fire repellent chemicals and right after it threw them it's wigs folded in mid flight! As if they wanted to make a clap. Before they touched they separated from the body and the plane just crashed. It happened right after the guy started pulling up after dropping the chemicals. Could it be overstressed plane? He was flying pretty slow.It looked alful!some info can be found here:http://www.kcal9.com/http://www.fox11.comAny ideas why this might occur. Please excuse me if I don't reply for a while. Not sure if this a "commercial product" or not.....Mike Ray has issued another great procedures book for the 747-400.His previous books on the 757/767, 737-500+ and "New Hire Pilot Stuff" are well done, great drawings (flight deck details) and are intended for prepping for checkrides in the real world. Mike flew with UAL (but I don't hold that against him). If you want to "see" how its done, I recommend any of his books. Timothy

I`ve been working on a moving image major at university for a while now, we use this library for media research and it ocurred to me some Avsim users may be interested in this site. The library contains everything from WWII Propaganda films, adverts, aviation films to just about anything you could imagine, "The collection currently contains over 10% of the total production of ephemeral films between 1927 and 1987, and it may be the most complete and varied collection in existence of films".The films are free to download and are available in various formats (VCD, DivX, MPEG).These are my personal favourites :) ,Are You Ready for Marriage? 1950Producer: Coronet Instructiona…

  25. Morning,An interesting news item this morning:Plane prompts White House evacuationhttp://www.cnn.com/2002/US/06/19/white.hou...tion/index.htmlA Cessna 182 flying at 10,500 was "escorted" down by two scrambled F16's. Ouch! You know that (former?!) pilot had great need of a washroom upon landing! :-eekDoesn't look there was foul play in the least... Simply a mistake (um, a LARGE mistake). Evidently no aircraft are allowed below FL180 over Washington.Just thought it was interesting,http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
