Hangar Chat

This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar.  Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here.  Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc.  Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view.  We allow some latitude, but please remember that, first and foremost, this is a flight-simulator oriented site frequented by people from all walks of life.

I know at first you might be reluctant to set up a "For sale" forum, due to obvious reasons like scammers and pirates and what not, but has it been considered? The good folks over at simhq.com seem to have it going pretty good, but I don't visit their forums as much, mainly because their server is slow lately, and because I don't have a non-hotmail address to register with.Just an idea! Keep up the good work AvSim & Tom.CheersCory

  3. If you are located in any of these cities in Scandanavia and would be interested in a possible get together (I have not yet finalized my schedule or commitments), post your interest here please. I will be in Copenhagen on June 28th and 29th, Stockholm on June 30th, departing to Bergen on July 2nd and leaving Bergen for the states on the evening of the 3rd. Again, I have no clue as to my commitments at this time so getting together may turn out to be near impossible, but if the slightest chance exists, I would love to meet some fellow simmers!

I have Yahoo for homepage. I went through the slideshow they have covering the continuing disastrous fires in Colorado and California. The forest will heal itself but it has got to be hard on the folks that are directly affected. I can't imagine...Anyway, I collected a few of the aviation oriented images from the slide show. Hope they work.http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/...s=&l=1&e=101&t=http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/...ns=&l=1&e=60&t=http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/...l=1&e=66&a=0&t=http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/...l=1&e=67&a=0&t=http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/...l=1…

Hello: Got a question. I have Wilco's Airport 2000 vol. 3 and running it with FS2002 using the patch on their site, and for some reason the FMC's are dead. It says it can't find the Navdata, and I'm stumped. I've reinstalled multiple times with no luck. All my PSS FMC's work, and my 767 PIC FMC works, but I have no clue what to do here. If anyone knows how to fix this or how to get the Navdata in I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks,Joey

Hi. I'm new to these forums. I just joined a US Airways Virtual (which is the airline I want to fly for in real life) and I am based in the city of Philly. Now this may seem stupid. But I usually fly out of Pittsburgh. I was curious what runways are used for departures, and arrivals in Philly Int'l. And what terminal or concourses are used for US Airways. Thats, I would appriciate any feedback.Cory Klimko

For those of you who receive the History Channel, there will be another show on next week about private jets, also called "Private Jets" but different than the Discovery Channel show. This is an email I got in response to a request to remove my files. I honestly have no real suspicion that Ferdy wanted to participate in any kind of CD-ROM production with freeware files, he just probably didn't research his mirror server's policies too thoroughly. "I am VOLFTP site administrator and I would like to reassure Milos and all other authors that VOLFTP's FSPLANET.COM mirror is not included in the authors' policy, right because it is a mirror and files are NOT directly uploaded by the authors. For this reason VOLFTP will never publish a CD-ROM without asking the direct authorization to the authors of Flight Simulator files.Franco Saiu"Misha

.1.1 Departure and transit The crew took-off from their home base at Zaragoza in north-east Spain at approximately 0420 hrs on the morning of the accident but, due to a fault in the directional gyro (DG) system and the possible requirement to fly a Precision Approach Radar approach (PAR) on arrival at RAF Northolt, the crew decided to return to Zaragoza and change aircraft. Learjet 25, EC-CKR, finally departed Zaragoza at 0525 hrs and flew to Palma de Mallorca Airport on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. At Palma de Mallorca the crew refuelled the aircraft and, after their sole passenger had boarded, they departed at approximately 0645 hrs on an Instrument F…

Hi fellas,I've always, always been hearing about this weather program for FS called FSMeteo. What does it do? Is it freeware or shareware, and where can I download it from? I wish that it gives me the possibility to download a file which represents all the current weather around the world, so that when I fly from place to place the weather changes according to the area of the world I'm flying in.Fill me in! :)Asim DaffaVP, Fleet - Senior First Officerwww.sv-virtual.com

My sister developed a problem with her computer and wondering if it could be virus related.Whenever she tries to open up Internet Explorer v6, a green bar appears at the top of her screen and the computer locks up. The same thing happens whenever she tries to open a document file. She can open up Outlook Express and other applications, but those two locks up her computer. This sounds like some form of virus. However a virus check comes up clean. Any thoughts?Gateway P3 700, 128M RAM Windows 98SE.Brent

I just stumbled across this link:http://www.ninfinger.org/~sven/models/rms_...49alt.hist.htmlA fictitious service history of the B-49 flying wing bomber, assuming it had been put into production. Who knows - had things turned out differently than they did we might just have seen it come true... :-)Enjoy!

Time to replace my batteries..Has anyone here used a much larger battery outside the case rather than buying the 12ah batteries that fit inside ? And cost as much as a MUCH higher amp sealed battery...I'm really thinking about going with a small sealed auto battery behind the desk and forget about the expense and short run time of the regular batteries.Staggerwing
