Just finished installing FS2k2 on my new PC. I jumped from a Celeron 466 to a P4 1.8, G2 graphics etc."Flying" the 466 with FS2k2 was like flying in "time-lapse" photography. Got 8 to 10 fps. It was a challange.....Now I just took the C-172 up for touch-n-goes at Meigs, getting 20+ FPS and no longer just aiming for the airport but putting it on the centerline....About thirty minutes into the session I looked at my hand on the CH-USB yoke-I had a deathgrip on it. Then I "heard" my 1st instructor's voice say "Loosing up!" like I remebered back in '75. My grip relaxed, the plane "flew" better and a smile returned as I remembered those moments. Some voices we never can sh…

Hi,since i bought the following system:==Windows XP Professional (5.1 - 2600)CPU [AMD XP 1800+ (1-AMD , 1533MHz, 256KB)]Video Card [ nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4400 (128 Mb DDR) ]RAM (DDR 266 MHz) 256 Mbs==I can't fly with my DF734 because when I'm doing the start procedure (or taxiing or taking off) it's always freeze my computer (I can't move the mouse, I only can push reset button).I have tried with different drivers of the videocard (CD and latest Detonator) and tried it without the soundcard installed (SB Live 5.1), also I have changed the RAM module.Days ago I formatted the HD and before install the SO and imprescindible drivers I tried it with the same results. What can be…

I am interested in buying the Saitek x36 for Flanker 2.5 and upcoming Lomac. Unfortunately, the x36 is not completely compatible with winxp, so I was wondering how I would set up win98 on a different HD so that I could boot into that OS when I wanted to play Flanker or another sim with the saitek x36. Is it just as easy as choosing the HD during installation and choosing which OS to boot into on every start up, or is it more complicated? Thanks!Craig

Hi ! I own the CH Yoke + Pro Pedals combo since a couple of months. I just love them ! However, there is one thing that's quite annoying regarding it's construction : there is a lot of friction between the plastics of the elevator tube, so when you release it, it doesn't come back to neutral and sticks. This is also annoying for proper trimming since part of the force you want to remove by trimming is taken away by that friction.Does anybody have the same problem ? Did anybody find a good solution to this ? (w/o unscrewing the yoke since it's still under warranty)Thanks for any suggestion !Andr

I do not like the way the avsim file library is organized. I want to be able to search by aircraft type (ex. 757-200). You have to type in Boeing or Douglas to get anything. It never gives me what I am looking for. The old way was better. ;(8 :-outta :-spacecraft

Hello. I've been out of touch, so to speak, with the AVSIM world, and if this topic has already been discussed, I apologise for this inconvenice, however if it has not, then I'd really appriciate some informaiton from anyone. I'm currently in Amman on "vacation," and recently I was surfing on my very slow internet connection :) and found that VASM and FSINN are still down. Anyone have any ideas why this is? I haven't heard anything about them, last I heard, someone said that they're just "down," however, I'm beginning to doubt that, and think something else is going on. If anyone could tell me anything about this, I would very much appriciate it. Well, hope to hear some r…

Interesting anti-ice process on a FedEx MD-11 windscreen......From the NTSB brief:"The crew reported that prior to pushback, maintenance personnel were engaged in the repair of a small (1 x 3 inch) hole on the underside of the left horizontal stabilizer. During this time the flight crew observed the co-pilot's forward windscreen panel (R1) crack and observed what they described as flames emanating from the lower portion of the windscreen. The captain perceived that the flames were on the exterior of the windscreen and the first officer opened his right window (R2) and used a hand held halon fire extinguisher to attempt to extinguish the fire. The captain radioed SEATAC gr…

  14. I have just been updating myself with the current situation regarding the wonderful world of NEA's (Near Earth Asteroids) at the IAU Minor Planet Center. They have a list there of the most dangerous asteroids (those whose orbits currently approach the orbit of Earth to within 7.5 million kms). This list currently has a total of 414 asteroids, and displays information regarding close approaches of the future. One particular asteroid caught my attention. This is designated as 2000 WO107, and it has been seen at 2 oppositions. This means that its orbit is reasonably well determined, although this is almost certain to be refined in the future. However, calculations based on th…

Now I know this doesn't have to do with fs2002 but i have a big question. I have cancer... and im 17.. ill be done and cured for my cancer in aug, now i don't graduate till next year.. but is it true.. that just because you had cancer in the past means that you can't become a pilot? im hoping this isn't true... because me being a pilot is something I really want to do. I thought I would ask you guys because a lot of you guys have ur license and might know the answer to my question. I don't think they should stop somebody from being a pilot because of a PAST illness. Chris

If you get lost, the third link is a direct one to that page. Note the lack of mention to "research". The "product" is available now it seems.I am very sad. This is right out of "End Times" Sadly also, the company is Canadian. :(bthttp://www.nexiabiotech.com/http://www.nexiabiotech.com/HTML/research/index.shtml
