I trying to clarify the relationship between changes in the propeller pitch, propeller RPM and engine RPM, and manifold pressure. I'm experimenting with a flight simulation (B17-2) not listed on the boards. In this simulation lowering propeller pitch increases the prop rpm, this in turn decreases tachometer (engine) rpm and manifold pressure in the sim. Is this correct? Thanks.

Ok, Heaven knows the last thing we need to bring up around here is a copyright question. I just need to know.If a person does a skin for a model that is out there and uploads it, is that a copyright infringement? Not loading any of the models other files JUST textures that they alone have made to fit a particular aircraft, and nothing else.Just curious as to views on this one.http://members.shaw.ca/dan_cyxc/sigcard.jpg

If you click on the link in my signature below (Weather Image of the Day) you see what I am talking about. :( I know that fires are a part of nature, but this forest is something special. I hope that they get it under control soon. :([div align=center][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Weather Image of the Day!

I was surfing the intra-web :-lol when I came upon this:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d3ba88209535903.jpgSort of shows the state of the internet, I find it funny that I was forced to click okay, which took me to their web site. Pretty pathetic when a pop-up stopper has to resort to using the very thing they're stopping.I find it most annoying, however, when an ad manages to get around my blocker (which, for the most part does its job very well), and has no frame for me to just close it from there. Personally, I think this is the most insidious form of pop-up ever, and perhaps the most intrusive. The saddest part is that 90% of the pop-ups advertise spyware o…

On the topic of witness reliability. I have been a professional witness on at least 4 occasions. Let me explain. As you may know (some may think I say this to "get off"...I "get off" on life, not AVSIM forums) I was an Air Traffic Controller for 15 years, 10 of which I spent in Tower, in addition to my 4 years RAPCON and 4 years instruction of RAPCON.During my years, I witnessed 4 major (numerous minor) incidents:A-6: Crash on Departure. (nonfatal)U-2: Explode on Departure. (nonfatal)KC-135: Left outboard wing contacted ground during flair. There was extensive Dutch Roll on final...in the end PIC and crew were completely at fault for not following training procedures. …

I have agreed to quit posting on the topic of TWA800. For me, and a large group of Aviation Professionals that subject is not yet closed, but for many here, it appears it is. So be it.OTOH, AA587 remains a mystery to all for the time being. I will continue to post updates on AA587, until I am told officially by AVSIM to cease and desist. If that occurs, in my mind, it is a sad day for the AVSIM community, and a sad day for the search for truth.Best,bthttp://www.rockawave.com/news/2002/0720/Fr...tories0720.htmlhttp://www.rockawave.com/news/2002/0720/Co...Points0720.htmlhttp://www.rockawave.com/news/2002/0720/Co...s_Desk0720.htmlhttp://www.rockawave.com/news/2002/0720/C…

This morning I received a newsletter from my preferred mail order retailer telling me about their new items...among which is also the Trumpeter 1/48 Su-15 (WOOHOO!!!).However (before you delete this post for apparent "wrong forumness" ;-) ), what I was wondering about is this...What do those abbreviations after the plane type designation actually mean? For example, let's take the Su-15TM. What "Su-15" means is pretty obvious, but what does the "TM" mean? I gather it is an abbreviation for something, but since I do not speak Russian I have no idea what it could denote. I only know that "UB" as in "MiG-29UB" means "utshebny-boyovy" ("training and combat") and "PF" as in "MiG…

Uh...I must say I'm stumped. Did I alter any settings by accident...or why else does my IE look like this (see attached picture) all of a sudden? You know, last night when I was online it looked like it always looked, but since this morning something's weird. Note the very small task/icon bar...the address entry line can be made visible by right-clicking on the task bar and then selecting it from the menu that opens.I mean, I can still browse like before, but still it is very weird indeed.Any of you ever saw this before?(Added) I know the image looks a tad blurred, but this is an effect of procesing it through PSP.Thanks!

Hi there,I was just curious if the FAA has some kind of searchable database in which pilots (i. E. private, CFI's, commercial or ATP) can be looked up by name, city or state? If there is one (or even some international databases) I'd appreciate if someone could point (link) me in the right direction.I've briefly looked at the FAA's website but couldn't find what I was looking for.I just want to check if my flight instructor is really an instructor (just kidding) ;-)Cheers,Petehttp://home.neo.rr.com/zaehringer/pipersignature.jpgPIII600,512MB,Win98SE,DirectX8.1,Geforce32DDR(Det.22.80),SBlive(4.06.703)
