Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. I write this message with great sadness I ask you dont delete it, or lock it.I as many, hoped and prayed this would be a prank by the girls, alas it was not the case and evil took it's course. May justice both natural and by law bring it's self down on who ever did this act. Jessica , Holly, I see you both in pictures and see you both in my kiddes age 10 and below, full of life and joy, how I would miss this, We dont know each other I wish we had,I'm sure we would have laughed till we cried and enjoy ourselves. It would be debatable who was double figues in age ! If there is such a thing in God, please tell me why or how I should believe when it allows such cruel and evil…

Was listening to MKE Tower last night advise a Continental (Jet Link)ERJ-145 that was making a "no delay" turn onto the active runway for take-off. Tower cleared the ERJ for take-off and said to the ERJ pilot traffic was another ERJ on a 3 mile final. To wit the pilot on final said, "Hey now I've been really insulted. We're a CRJ (American Eagle)!"To wit the Jet Link ERJ pilot came back with, "They just wish they were and ERJ."OUCH! No further response from CRJ pilot was heard. Rick

Well, a fortnight ago, I flew for the first time on a Boeing 737-200 ( very old) from Manchester[EGCC] to Almeria[LEAM]. True story... Flight EAF344..... We were only 30mins behind schedule and the plane taxied to runway 6L, and applied the required thrust for takeoff. Then the throttle went to idle..... then takeoff power, then idle. People were swearing from all directions, and the pilot vacated the runway. "This is your captain speaking, we have a configuration warning..... a little beep in the c ockpit." That was due to the speedbrake not been fully in its detent position. Anyway, we took off successfully and was approaching Almeria airport. "This is your ca…

About three hours ago I posted some pics in the SS forum and received a message saying that they will be reviewed for posting and still they have not been posted. I would think that after two years of posting here at avsim that you would have enough faith in me to follow your rules. What's going on around here. It seems each new rule you guy's implement kills the fun of this place a little bit more each time. The avsim forums are a far cry of what they used to be. This is getting totally out of hand. x(Gene B

To all,While most of you will think I am childish by posting this topic, let me explain to you why and how I am very ###### when someone tells me a word which doesn't present my characteristic. This is a recent rating addressed to me and I am just laughing at it, but it means something to me and I will NOT tolerate it.I have a different culture which really different from most of you here, in my culture, you cannot say someone being hypocrit, selfish or whatever bad you think about the person without a strong evidence.Although I said Hypocrit to my buddies and friends, but I said it in a Joke form, I am not saying it serious.Very rarely I say a person hypocrit.Arrogant …

HiI stumbled on this site and these guys have a plan to make an Aiport Simulator kind of like (Airport Tycoon or Airport Inc.). They are making it as a freeware game and they want to make a team of people who can put in some free time to create it. They are looking for programmers/modellers...anything to help. I know that AVSIM is filled with extremely talented people so I thought maybe some of you want to join in. Sounds like a good idea to me. I have also joined to do some texture work and some basic modelling. Here is the site.http://ams.tk-x.com/cgi-bin/yabb/yabb.cgiTake careMike

Below I have copied part of a press release about AirFair2002, September 14th at Lelystad Airport in The Netherlands.Interesting no doubt for all Dutch, Belgian, and perhaps even German and UK aircraft/aviation enthusiasts:About AirFair 2002During the Piloot & Vliegtuig AirFair 2002 they will have a general aviation market for new and used aircraft and related accessories (headsets, avionics, parts etc.). This market is one of the main activities of the fair. Aircraft offered for sale will be split up per category and will get their own specific show area at the fair at a special location of the airport. During the AirFair they use the opportunity to introduce all kind…

I was at Whidbey NAS Airshow today, and spent some time sitting in the left seat of a few large aircraft, C-5B, C-17, a Herc, and I was wondering what license these pilots would hold, and how do they relate to the civilian world? If you had a certain number of hours in a C-5, would that equal an ATP? What type of license would a fighter jock have, and depending on his hours, what would the civilian equivilant be? I know there's more to it then that, but I'm curious. I'm thinking too much, must be that thin air waaaaay up there on the C-5 flight deck.

"ROUND ENGINES (Thanks to classmate Bill Young)Isn't this the truth. Death to turbines! We gotta get rid of these turbines, they are ruining aviation. We need to go back to big round engines.Anybody can start a turbine, you just need to move a switch from "OFF" to "START," and then remember it needs kerosene after a while. My PC is harder to start.Cranking a round engine requires skill, finesse and style. Only pilots and mechanics can do it right. Turbines start by whining for a while, then give a small lady-like poot and start whining louder.Round engines give a satisfying clank-rattle, click-click, BANG, more rattles, groans another BANG, a big macho ##### or two, more …

Hi,Does anybody know where I can find out what the correct arrival and departure tracks are for Concorde operations in and out of the USA?I have an Aerad chart for Concorde operations that shows Concorde tracks but it is all a bit blured with regards to the tracks into and out of the USA, there appear to be quite a few and it gets a bit confusing to see where they go.Is there a website that might show them, there is a good link on the National Air Traffic Services website for the UK routes,http://195.217.206.173/uk_aip/aip/pdf/enr/26030501.pdfbut nothing I can find for the USA.Any help would be very much appreciated.Thanks,Steve.

Such as the topic ""Would you be able to land an Airliner in an emergency ?"I didn't really care to respond to this thread, but when it's moved from here, to a forum such as the "Hangar Forum" then it's practically dead anyway! From the looks of it, the Hangar forum doesn't seem to have much business. I'd hate see to any topic that relates to real aviation, or one that combines real aviation and simulation......... moved! Besides this same thread generated many replies at the "other place" in the general MSFS forum. To shuffle some of these postings off to obscure areas seems to take some of the fun and interest out of this forum; at least that's my opinion. How about a …
