Since I have the Lago FSSoundScapes program, I thought I'd go visit their Lago forum (English version). Of course to be able to post or respond to anything you need to register -- which I did. (BTW, their registration "contract" is in Italian!!!)Lago never sent me a password to use and there was no option to choose your own password when you registered. I then opened my Profile and clicked on the "forget your password" link. I got a message that my password has been sent to my e-mail address. That was over two hours ago...... how is one supposed to get a password?? Anyone have any ideas.I had e-mailed Lago before with a problem I had with FSSS and never got a respon…

  2. I live in the Seattle area, & the news is jumping all over the Boeing Machienist's Strike. The union has done some particularly naughty things, even the union members say so. They sealed the ballots of the previous vote in case the upcoming federal mediation date in DC yeilds them more money. It seems the Boeing workers strike so often... I remember last year when another one of the Boeing unions went on strike, causing the company to get WAY behind on deliveries. Has anyone outside of the cities where the major plants are heard about the strike? I'd be interested in what everyone thinks of it. :)

  3. TWA Flifghr 800 Conspiracy nuts:The FAA today ordered 1400 aircraft (all Boeings - want to guess the model?) inspected for faulty fuel pump wiring - because they can cause fuel tank explosions.Like I keep telling you - it's far easier to believe aliens or the government or Elvis bought down a million pound aircraft then to believe it's something that can happen every day.Well - it can.Get over it.

Hi guys,I was experiencing lockups and strange stuff lately. Also whatever driver I installed there seemed to be no change. So I decided to make a completely clean install of the new 40.41 or so I thought. I uninstalled the drivers in system / software and deleted all the Nvidia reg entries just to make sure. Still something did not seem to be right. MY scores in 3DMark went up but some instability remained. Also the 3DMark improvement was only 1000 points, and there was reported a lot more for my card by other sources. Then I stumbled over a thread in 3Dguru.The suggestion was as follows:"I unzip the drivers to a known folder that I create.I then simply go to C:Windowsinf…

HiI am starting a new project in 3D max to design some fuel storage islands/farms for a game. I have not got the slightest clue what these storage farms look like. All I know is that they have huge white cylindrical towers to store the fuel. I would like to know if anyone has some pictures of any fuel storage facility so that I can see what eles is there. Where the trucks fill up...any small hangar or building/office, is it surrounded by a fence? I have searched for any pictures but I cannot find any. Airliners.net search seems to not work today. I don't need a specific storage facility, just some that are a t big airports so I can have an idea of what to design.I …

today there were two Tam F-100 crashes, one crashed into a field, and one had to do a belly landing, and now an Emb-120!!!!http://www.airdisaster.com/news/0802/30/3.jpgThe first mid-sized Fokker-100 jet landed in a grassy field a short distance from a farmhouse near the town of Aracatuba, 325 miles northwest of the city of Sao Paulo. TAM said in a statement none of the 24 passengers on board were seriously hurt, although four were treated for light scrapes and sprains.TAM later confirmed another Fokker-100 was forced to land at the international airport of Viracopos in the city of Campinas, without any landing gear. None of the 42 passengers were hurt, TAM said. Globo rep…

I followed the link below and was stunned to see waht M$ has up their sleeve. If they actually make such a thing it will be the end of any open source or freeware software. I'm pretty sure it will never fly and I hope M$ knows that. Well, just wanted to forward it so people can read it.http://forum.deviantart.com/593007Cheers,http://turnhead.com/dot/alex/banner-retro-cool.gif

Now, I know Netscape is the barrel's bottom market share as browsers go, but here's a neat concept for the Netscape/Mozilla people out there: how's about an AVSIM sidebar? It could contain the news of the front page with anchor links to the stories on the main page. Or, an even neater thing would be to have it show whether or not a user has unread messages in a watched thread or something, or a person's user stats. The possibilities are really endless! Especially with the release of Netscape 7.0 FINAL in the next few days (the folder's already up on the Netscape ftp server), I'd say it's a worthwhile discussion. What do you guys think?Ken

Hey Everyone! I was just wondering what program everyone uses to make their sigs. When I look at alot of people's sigs, there are some cool effects used that are not availible on PSP7 (that's what I use). I'm trying to make a new one, but it ends up looking pretty boring. Thanks!

I don't know if this forum is for this kind of discussion, and I'll gladly move it to Hangar Chat (or whatever one it should be in) if it bothers some. Anyways... What other games do all you simmers out there play BESIDES MS or Fly! or Flight Unlimited Flight Simulators?? I have a feeling many of us tend to play the same type of games... enjoying a simulator takes a certain type of person ;) Myself... I play (both CFS included I guess) Half-Life Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, Falcon 4.0, Warcraft 3. Anyone else?

Unfortunately the bubble was burst on Tom's previous thread regarding the Stella Awards - totally bizarre cases involving outrageous successful compensation claims. In defence of Tom, whilst those particular examples may have been fiction, there are of course many true real life cases. The main difference is they are just not *quite* as outrageous as the fabricated ones.So here for your reading pleasure are totally true bona fide cases that reared their ugly heads in Australia:1. A man drank six beers and five bourbons then climbed onto the roof of an Inn after he was denied access to the downstairs nightclub. He was observed by the licensee to be peering through a window…

Hi all,In a dutch newsgroup nl.reizen (translated: nl.travel) a post was written by somebody who had a weird landing. I translated it here below. Is somebody able to explain this? 'A couple of weeks ago I flew to Moscow with a KLM B767-300. At Moscow we were not able to land immediatly, so we had to fly a circle at a hight of 7 kilometers. When almost performed the circle, the pilot brakes enormously, opens the flaps, reverses the engines. Within a couple of minutes we went from 7 km down to 2 km, and reducing speed from 780 km/h to 220 km/h. After this stunt we landed normally. Just a little white round the nose. Does anybody have a clue what happened? Was it just to mak…

Okay, I was at an airshow yesterday, and noticed a few strange things...1) There was a Hawker Hunter F.58A there. It came past the crowd in a very fast dive on full power, and as it went past (when I was sat in the car, quite a distance away from the crowd line) I heard a very loud sound like a rifle being fired four times, and felt the car vibrate slightly. I know that hunters can reach supersonic speeds in a shallow dive, and it seemed to be going quite a bit faster than a Jaguar which the commentator said was coming past "just under the speed of sound", so I was wondering if the sound was a sonic boom. But surely the plane wouldn't be permitted to fly supersonic at an …

I don't know how many of you have been the victims of credit card fraud, but I was almost a victim myself today. I have never used my credit card in a person to person transaction. I have only used it over the internet sites that display the security padlock in the Explorer status bar, or using those automated telephone payments systems. Apart from the main use of paying my telephone, gas, water, eletricity bills and council rates, it is also used to purchase computer parts from the US and flight sim software that is not otherwise available from shops (ie only downloadable). This morning my bank rang me to query a declined $1000 US transaction that occured last night. I to…
