The Stella awards are very similar to the Darwin awards, and are named after the 81 grandmother who successfully sued MacDonalds for making coffee too hot, after she had spilt it on herself.1. January 2000:Kathleen Robertson of Austin Texas was awarded $780,000by a jury after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddlerwho was running inside a furniture store. The owners ofthe store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving little ##### wasMs. Robertson's son. 2. June 1998:A 19 year old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 andmedical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand witha Honda Accord. Mr. Truman apparently didn't notice therewas…

  4. Although the warnings have been in the air for the past year or more, it is now official: all games (PC, Console, etc) are to be restricted to the new 7 1/2 by 5 1/4 inch packaging... Just slightly larger than the DVD/CD cases they'll come in. Depth you ask? Hows 1 inch strike you.Of course, the cost savings in real manuals, cardboard packaging and retail shelf space aren't getting passed to the consumer... Rue that thought. Prices stay exactly the same (which continues their steady rise of course - specially in the console space). You have to love this quote:"In the '80s, environmental groups assailed the music industry over the original cardboard "longboxes" for CDs…

Can anyone recomend a good, free, web based email system (like Hotmail and Yahoo) that doesn't bombard you with loads of spam emails(unlike Hotmail and Yahoo ;-))? I signed up for a Yahoo account around a week ago, and already I've had around 30 junk messages that I never even asked for!!! I have no idea where they got the address from (probably just spamming everyone at Yahoo I guess :-(). I also have a Hotmail account, but I get loads of rubbish there too :-(. I looked at Apple's .Mac (or iTools or whatever it's called now), but I suspect that it's only available to Mac users, and also they're going to start charging for the system :-(.So, any ideas? Thanks,Dave.

On the pronunciation of "AVSIM"Is AVSIM pronounced like "Ay-Vee-Sim"or perhaps "AvvSim"Or maybe an acronym (sp) "A-V-S-I-M"It's just one of those stupid things that mills around in my brain. Probably from over-extensive computer exposure disorder.

In a rather obscure court case that most folks were not aware of, but Internet providers were keeping a close eye on, British Telecom's law suit against Prodigy, claiming violation of their patent on Hyperlinks, has been thrown out. Had BT's claim had merit and had they succeeded, there is a likelyhood that further claims would have been made against other providers, eventually making the entire Internet a "toll road" as CNN describes it.You can read all the details of this CNN story here][/b.

I'm just curious of all of your thoughts. Personally, I'm kind of wondering whether the 7x7 line is dead. I mean, Boeing seems to be putting a lot of stock into the Sonic Cruiser project, and I wonder, do you think that that's what it's name will be? I'd like to see it as the 787, personally :D .

Anybody who loves airplanes absolutely must visit David Odum's Oshkosh 2002 scrapbook. He has 109 photos with nice narration. This is why I go to Oshkosh every year and why everybody should make an attempt to go to the show or at least one of the giant regional EAA shows like Sun & Fun.http://www.airplanezone.com/Oshkosh/Scrapbook2002

Get this... Flying Face Scratcher beasts that glow brightly and fly sideways through the night air are scratching people in the face in India. Its gotten so bad that people are dying now... But not from the alien Face Scratchers: from rioting at the police for not doing anything about them:"Residents of Uttar Pradesh state have reported being attacked by a strange and brightly-lit object that appears in the night and flies sideways, leaving its victims with scratch marks on their faces. The first reports of attacks by the muhnochwa (literally, something that scratches the face) came from rural areas in Mirzapur district, but the real panic began when nearby townspeople …

  23. I am not one for many rules...BUT, I wish that AVSIM would adopt a standing rule about posting picture sizes and signatures. Some of the picture posts are HUGE....way over what should be a limit of no wider than 800 pixels. The same goes for signatures. Some of the signatures on this forum have so much stuff in them the look like a discount store after a going out of business sale. For the signatures, perhaps the same rule of size should apply.Maybe I am alone here....should would like to hear what you all think.[br][br][div align=center][br][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Click Here For Weather Image of the Day!

Probably not THE best place to ask this, but yes, it is aviation related and a lot of you Airbus - Boeing debators might like to answer this...those of you who are pro airbus I'm looking for a website where I can purchase airbus stickers (for the car), airbus window clings (the plastic satick-ems that aren't stickers, just plastic clings), and pins that I can pin to like a backpack or a shirt. Anyone know a website with this sort of giftshop stuff? Remember, Airbus merchandise, not Boeing Viva la France ZACH
