It has been weeks, maybe months ago that I could find the timeto have a complete flight.I mean, one with all the caboodle..flightplanning, weather etc..The new POSKY 744F was taken, (yeah I like 744F's) and started to taxi to the runway.Just before the holding point: crash in FS on FSSOUND.DLLDamn! Loaded FS again, and saw that I didnt saved my flightplan.. got all typed in again, asked ATC for clearance and took off after waiting for 30 minuts due heavy traffic.About 80 miles before the desination you guess what? crash FS.Bang! Error in FS2002.exe.I hate it! and now I am mad. These errors have plagues my also with FS2000, but start to come more and more often in FS2002.I…

Can anyone recommend a good Flight Simmers Magazine... I hear there are a few out there that I could subscribe to. If there are any UK ones, that would be good... but I'm not really too bothered as long as it's a good mag.Cheers,SImon.

This article refers to an incident at Meacham Airport, Ft. Worth. I first became aware of this incident last year when it occurred. An Air Traffic Controller friend of mine at Meacham had told me the story, and pointed me to the news article in the Star Telegram, of Dallas-Fort Worth.http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/3568909.htmThis interesting read http://usread.com/Aviation/Sabotage.htmldiscusses these facts, and poises the conjecture that based on our current unregulated, unmonitored system of Aviation Maintenance, it may be time for a heightened awareness of just who is maintaining our Civil Air Fleet.Make your own opinions.Cheers,

Well folks, I ahve been wondering about this for ages since I started with CFS1 when it came out. I started playing it with "automix" on since I couldn't be bothered (at the time) to play with leaning the mix in combat, but later decided that since the real pilots had to do it and leaned as habit I might as well too. In the sim, the German fighters (Bf-109 and FW-190) don't have fuel mix levers since they supposedly took care of that automatically, and the FW-190 doesn't have a prop pitch lever. So did in fact MS get this right? Could anyone tell me or tell me where to find out? Thanks.

Thanks to the many who offered help and sympathy with my earlier post this weekend (titled very O/T). After extensive fiddling, I have a better idea of what is happening. I was able to bring the iMac back online by flushing the router settings (adjustment #1) and starting over with fresh settings. Then, almost as soon I told the wife that she could get back on, I toasted her connection again. How did I do this you ask? Well, for the last two weeks I have been flying on the BFU Bush Net. This requires not only Squawk Box, but Roger Wilco is necessary for full entertainment. As soon as I had SB, RW, MSFS2K2, and WidevieW up and running, my server crashed, and at the same ti…

Need some help from some instrument rated guys. When flying a STAR, can you enter it from any point? Or do you have to enter from the listed transitions. Same for DP. Can you fly to any point along the DP route, or do you have to go to the transitions. For example: Robinsville One Arrival at EWR has two listed transitions, AGGARD and PXT. Do I have to enter the STAR at one of those two locations? Or could I come in from OOD, VCN, ENO, or other waypoints along the STAR route. I will try to paste the STAR. Not sure if PDF files can be posted. If not hopefully you all have access to it. Thanks for the help.Dave

Has anyone seen the Air Do 767-300 and the Air Tahati Nui A340-200 DVD's by Just Planes (World Air Routes), they're fantastic!! I bought them today while at Gatwick, and watched them as soon as I got home. OK the quality of the filming and production may be a tad poor at times, but the content certainly makes up for that.Air Do - You get to see a number of flights from the flight deck, and then the route from sitting in the cabin, looking over the engine and the wing trailing edge. I can't wait for future Gmax aircraft with Virtual cabins :-) Also I can't believe, firstly the climb power, upto 41000ft within 14mins of takeoff, and even at a rate of 6000fpm at one stage, a…

It seems our insidious P.T. is at it again... I would not be surprised if him, his lawyers, his 'whatever' were all the same companies.Keep spreading the word Tom.. there are a lot of new people in this hobby who haven't yet heard of the adventures of Papa-Tango, et-al, whatever he is today...Peter reminds me of that game "Whack-A-Mole because he keeps popping up, yet we keep knocking him back down...Looks like Peter is hard at work on his 2nd bankruptcy!Cheers~Ray

I was wondering if there's an English name for the southernmost part of South America - you know, the portion which is called "Tierra del Fuego" in Spanish and "Feuerland" in German. Sorry, I know how strange this question must be, but I've been thinking about this all day :-shy ...

You may have no idea right now but if I may throw a suggestion into the hat, how about Orlando, Florida? We just opened the biggest ATC tower anywhere in North America at 346' at Orlando International. The tourism industry is hurting big time still down here and the rates for hotels, airfares and rental cars are dirt cheap. September is the slow season so you always get good rates around now anyways. There are tons of hotels and confrence halls all over the place. KMCO is a huge airport and KSFB is just up the road with many UK charter operations. While not directly related to flightsim, Kennedy Space Center is just an hour to the east. They have some real nice tours the…

Here are some recent quotes from some of the most famous people WITHIN the music, entertainment and consumer products industries. These are just the most recent comments of course. The immense dissatisfaction with the RIAA, DRM and forever extending copyright and patent fiascos is forcing a groundswell of anti-RIAA, anti-DRM and anti-extended-copyright support from within their own industry. Its about time we, as the mass of public criminals we are (according to the RIAA), are finally catching up. But it is we, as the vast consumers of these works - packaged and fed to us by accountants instead of artists, that must make the stand against the paid-for congressmen and …
