One of those accident descriptions that just catches my attention on the FAA website:"DESCRIPTION ACFT STRUCK AN ANT HILL, WATKINSVILLE, GA"It was a Cessna 170, no injuries thankfully. You just never see the "Ant Hill" option turned on in Flight Simulator.

I have been wondering for a while what is the origin of the terminal shuttles of Washington Dulles? They have even propellers, so it looks like they have parts from US army marine vehicles. And what is the meaning of the tall fins on the roof?Does anyone have seen any add-on which would bring these strange shuttles to FS2002?cubase

I really should be in bed by now.....shame on me! But, I've been busy flying! Decided to have a sandwich before bed. While eating, I parked myself in the site library with the Falcon 50 download in my screen. I noticed that there had been 1,570 downloads. So I began punching the refresh button. In about 5 minutes the total downloads had risen to around 1,630. I wonder how many will have been transfered in a 24 hour period? Let's see....a 16.4 Mb download x 1,630 is allot of data passing through the lines. How do they figure bandwidth usage?

HiI am a little confused. I jsut saw on CNN a headline about the AA flight that crashed in Queens, NY last year. They said that they are looking into the role of the co-pilot because he had 'a history of over-reacting to wake turbulenc'. What does that mean? over-reaction to wake turbulence.... I know that CNN is alwasy trying to twist things and make stories how they preffer so there is probably something I don't get. Could the co-pilot have torn the plane apart and not the turbulence? I find that hard to believe.Any comments?Take careMike

Can airline captains resume flying after major surgery, or do they lose their certificates? I have a friend who is very much interested in becoming an airline pilot some day, and is in great shape so far, but has a history of heart disease in his family. Several relatives including his father have had bypass surgery or angioplasties performed with complete success, and they have fully recovered and are doing fine. He was wondering if after becoming a pilot and if he also had to face surgery, would he still be able to regain a first class medical? Thanks. :-)

Even though I know they went OOB a long time ago, I must say I'm intrigued by this airline...mostly because of their colourful aircraft, I confess :-) . Do any of you know where they were based, where they flew to, when they went out of business and what happened to their fleet after their breakdown? Thanks!

Hi,It is extremely hard to believe that nobody has yet posted this problem. I have Norton Installed, it updates every day and I also have Protector Plus installed. I have the W32.Opaserv.worm removal tool (4 different types btw).. I have installed the Win98 MS patch that deals with the vulnerablity reagrding this worm. I have removed per Symantecs instructions the scrsvr.exe file and edited the win.ini file as well as go in the registry and clean out there.BUT.. the worm just keeps coming back over and over every time I connect to Outlook Express or the Internet via IE. Then Norton catches it and deletes. It's the most annoying thing I have ever experienced on a PC to dat…

I was getting only low frequency sounds in FS2002 all weekend, not able to hear any of the high's through my speakers (Altec Lansing speakers and sub). After rebooting, downloading new Audigy drivers etc, I decided to check all of the connection. (Should have done it first, i know). Anyway, it seems the Wife's cats decided that speaker wires are fun to chew, and thereby disconnected the satellite speakers from the subwoofer. At least all of the other wires, cables etc are stashed away out of their reach.

The throttle quad and engine readouts are strange to me looking more what I expect a jet turbine to appear as, such as fuel load in pounds, gas turbine rpm as percent, idle control fast/slow/emergency, etc.Can anyone recommend a book/guide that would cover this type of aircraft other than ordering the specific manufacturer's manual? It's just for simming and I downloaded Mike Tone's version.Apparently it goes beyond a standard turboprop engine control user interface as I would expect a turboprop to appear.

It is tough being a man.....If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race, you're a male chauvinist. If you stay home and do the housework, you're a pansy. If you work too hard, there is never any time for her. If you don't work enough, you're a good-for-nothing bum.If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay, this is exploitation. If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay, you should get off your ##### and find something better. If you get a promotion ahead of her, that is favouritism. If she gets a job ahead of you, it's equal opportunity. If you mention how nice she looks, it's sexual harassment. If you keep quiet, it's male indif…

Letter to FAA Federal Aviation Agency800 Independence Avenue S.W.Washington D.C. 20591Dear Sirs:I have the solution for the prevention of hijackings and at the same time getting our airline industry back on its feet.Since men of the Muslim religion are not allowed to look at naked women, we should replace all of our female flight attendants with strippers. Muslims would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing a naked woman, and of course, every bussinessman in this country would start flying again in hope of seeing a naked woman. We would have no more hijackings, and the airline industry would have record sales. Now, why didn't Bush think of this ? Why do I still…

Just curious, but I was wondering what do pilots do after the unpopular mandatory big 6-0 birthday? I have flown on many airline flights with captains approaching the 60 mark who are in much better shape than I am. I can't believe that the FAA forces them out regardless of health, especially with all that sound experience. Are they able to fly large jets or airliners any other way once they are forced out by the airlines, or can they continue with GA jets and commuters or turbo planes commercially or privately? Also, if they remain healthy, can they continue flying indefinitely? Thanks. :-)

I'm looking at the Minneapolis TCA chart. I see jet approach/departure paths plotted but nothing indicating preferred VFR transit corridors. Are these shown on some chart somewhere or am I missing them on this. I have the local WAC chrt but there is no indication other than the TCA boundaries.(This is for simming purposes but I used to fly real prop stuff and had to quit shortly after TCAs were implemented.)

My ISP has announced it will soon be offering a free anti-virus and anti-spam service to its customers. They say this is in response to customer feedback about computer viruses and spam emails. Is this the time therefore for you to ask of your ISP that a similar service be provided since failure to provide such a service might cause you to take your custom elsewhere?I appreciate this suggestion might provoke replies from those on the far side of the pond that will raise the question of free speech. Since the activities of spammers and the virus spreaders amounts to a curtail of my liberty to use my mailbox, I consider the activities of virus senders and spammers not so …
