...and she would grant you the wish of getting just ONE of your favourite aircraft, which one would it be?You may, of course, list more than one aircraft - meaning those aircraft you would find yourself torn between ;-) ! If you should list more than one plane, please also state on which one you would most likely settle in the end. Here's my selection:English Electric Lightning or Blackburn Buccaneer...if I were in a more civil mood (pun :-) ), Vickers VC-10, DH Comet or Vickers Viscount...and if I could be satisfied with a GA plane it would be the Rutan Boomerang :-) .In the end, however, I think I would settle for the Lightning :D ! Freakin' great fighter she was...Cheer…

Just a little informative bit for those of you who may not be aware. At 12:00 Midnight there is a set of "Investigative Reports" on A&E about aviation, the first one is about airline security post 9/11, and the second is titled "Flying Blind: Small Aircraft crashes". It was on before, so it appears to be a second showing. I managed to catch the last 10-15 minutes of the small aircraft one, and like all media representations of the aviation word, it was extremely misrepresented. From what I saw they were discussing the IFR hoods that pilots use for the training, and they seemed to portray them as though its standard procedure to use them. Just thought you might fi…

Hey! I want to know if you like Airbus more that Boeing or vise versa? I fall somewhere in the middle. I like the A320, but tend to lean more toward Boeing heavies. So... what is it?

Here's a question....What is the call sign for BAX Global. I couldn't find it on any of my cheat sheets. Didn't even see 'em on the copule of airline history sites I have bookmarked. I may be out in leftfeild on this but I want to say they were Burlington Air Cargo at one time. Paint scheme is similar. What sparked the curiousity? There is one of their 4 holers sitting on the ramp outside of my hangar. :-outtahttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/images/675-2n.jpg

The Austrian government came to a decision today to replace the aging SAAB 35 Draken fighters with a new successor. Three aircraft were the final contenders: The Lockheed/Martin F-16 Falcon, the SAAB 39 Gripen and the EADS Eurofighter Typhoon.Despite what most people here thought that the Gripen would make the cut, it was the EADS Eurofighter Typhoon which was selected. The main selling points were the offset deals for the Austrian industry, as well as the latest technology the Typhoon has to offer. Leaves only one minor point: How are we going to pay for these jets?Regards from LOWS.

Hello,EditVoicePack seems to be a great tool, but it does not want to run with my computer. I know, the .NET framework is used. But under XP it should be included (perhaps i am wrong).I wonder if the incredible small filesize of the EditVoicePack ZIP-Archive can be correct (89k, no problems with unzipping).Any recommendations?

I don't know if this is the proper place to post this, and wouldn't be surprised if it will be deleted, but still i give it a try because of its horrible nature, i think it falls in the same category as "The drunken pilots":This must be a history of hell: In 1993 a Tu-134 from Aeroflot was hijacked by two individuals and forced the crew to land the Tu-134 at Oslo, where the hijackers demanded political asylum in Norway. The hijackers was eventually arrested and sent back to Russia where they was scentenced to 2 years of prison. Soon the hijackers was released long before the scentences ended and those bandits went back to Denmark seeking political asylum from the Danish a…

So I leave the forum for 24 hours and as I'm in Europe with a large time difference from N. America return today to find the thread where I was accused by Mr. Allensworth of not reading a post properly gone. As I stated in a response, I was responding to another reply by someone accusing two other sites of poaching Avsim libraries as FSplanet does, at the very least I expect an apology and would like to know what proof was offered as the thread has obviously vanished.

It would appear that the feel good folks in some state governments are targeting GA pilots for the solution to terroriam...NJ and NY both have legislation on the governor desks mandating criminal background checks on ANYONE requesting flight instruction...including BFRs, Young Eagles, Cessnas orientation flight program, , upgrade training, etc...Some states are already stomping all over federal grounds in this, requiring pilots to stand in line behind apprehended criminals to be fingerprinted for their background checks...The sheer stupidity and ignorance of the legislators (NJ sent it to the Guv unopposed) is astounding!!! Do they realize the exodous of pilotsthis will c…

This one is for all the real-life-long-haul pilots out there. I know the old saying is something like, "several hours of boredom punctuated by several minutes of sheer terror", but what do you actually do while George is flying the plane & you're just along for the ride? I'm not trying to be smart or anything, I just want to know what the "procedure" is. Do you sit there scanning for aircraft & checking the instruments the whole time or can you just sit back, relax, and read a book or something? On the longer simulated flights I've flown I increase distance compression & keep a close eye on the situation because everything is moving by so much faster. But i…

I'm trying to add new planes to fs2002. I've downloaded 3 or 4 airplanes from the file library and unzipped them into their own folders in the aircraft directory. But they are not listed when I try to select an aircraft from within the sim. Just the default planes are listed. I have a p4g-force 3 ti200256 ramwin xpI could use some pointers here. Do I need a patch or a compiler file... or something? Or am I just installing them wrong? Also, if there are any outstanding well build planes out there with quality flight models that you think are must haves, I welcome your feedback. Thanks for any help.
