Not sure if this is where I post this. When you view messages in expanded threads view you can see which messages are 'NEW'. However, it would be nice if one could click the message (View All) and in this view also see which messages are 'NEW'. This would be particularly helpful for large threads with lots of messages.Shez

This question does not regard AVSIM, but might be related to simming sites in the internet in general. Well, I guess my question is: Does Flightsim.com pays for freeware uploads into their system? They certainly charge for access to their database, (free-limited access is an impossibility), but do the freeware developers get a share of the pie? I've seen they have a lot of advertisement, so it is not like they are providing the service for free, it would seem to me. Are the advertisements not enough? Just wondering, out of the blue :)M.A.X.

An EgyptAir B737 (apparently) has crashed earlier on in Tunisia with 55 people on board. It was about to land (coming for Cairo) at Tunis and radioed for an emergency landing. There are survivors. The weather was rainy. After the crash in Nigeria, seems it's like a serie. :(__________________________________________________________EricUPDATED: List of all airlines, aircraft manufacturers and aircraft types recognised by ATC:http://www.geocities.com/eric_2203/orhttp://ftp.avsim.com/library/esearch.php?D...atID=fs2002misc

I figure I would make this offer to someone here before I list it on E-Bay.I have a LeadTek GeForce2 GTS Pro 32MB for sale. Card is about 16 months old and is in warranty through the end of 2003. Retail software, cables, etc... are included (although I no longer have the original box). Includes support for RCA & S-Video TV-out. FYI: this card comes in two flavors - 32 and 64MB. My card is equipped with 32.Specs can be found here:http://www.leadtek.com/geforce2/gts64new.htmLeadTek is a higher-end card manufacturer (and good to work with if you have problems), and all their cards come with kick-tushy cooling which allows them to overclock well (at least according t…

If you want to build historic (1932-1946) planes for IL2 go to www.il2center.com . Maddox games is accepting graphics for WWII aircraft and their cockpits they will then make the flight model ect. These models have to be accurate and of high quality or they will be sent back for a remake. Also the new vietnam/coldwar/korea sim from targetware is using a similar policy try the targetware web sit (www.targetware.com?) or the simhq.com forum. Also check out www.luft46.comThank YouAvimimus

Hi, I'm relatively new to flightsimming. I live near RAF Northolt, and Elstree Aerodrome. I just wanted to know, if there is anyone, who has made based planes, AI tracks or better scenery of these 2 local airports.Based Planes are:RAF:125's146'sSquirrel HelicoptersI have found 1 125 model, which isn't very good at all, and 2 146's that are not up to a high standard.Does anyone recreate Northolt planes, for FS2002.It seems to be a fogotten airport in the flightsimming world, even though its an active Civilian and Millitary airfield.Any help, for links to webpages or files, would be very helpfulhttp://www.fly.to/northolt

There is really really nasty weather over Pittsburgh right now, so I looked out my window to the southeast and saw some navigation lights of a plane just after 8:00PM EST. I thought they were heading into KBTP (a small airport which is just up the road from me) and then I noticed they were getting farther and farther apart. In a minute or so, a rather large airliner flew over just a few thousand feet up (I guess). It was low enough to rattle my house. I dont' think the plane had it's gear down and it was definitely looping back to the southwest. I assume he was heading back into KPIT. Of course, this concerned me as I've never seen anything like this. While I was o…

There is a description on the main forum page telling users the function of this forum. Here is the description:This forum is for the discussion of topics not covered in other forums in the AVSIM Conferences. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here.We have around 55+ forums open to the public covering all sorts of topics. There have been quite a few messages posted in here that I've been letting slide, but there seems to be an increase in MS Flightsim questions asked in here. Considering we have 6 forums setup for topics about MSFS, there really shouldn't be any MSFS questions in here at all. So starting from here on out, th…

Martin has once again updated Orbiter, a first class space simulation which is also freeware. If you get a chance, go check out:www.orbitersim.comThe graphics are fantastic, and the sim is a very absorbing way to lose oneself in the universe. I must warn you that it's a sim which requires thought...orbital mechanics, atmospheric drag, planetary transfer orbits--these are all things that come into play. But if you feel a need to leave the atmosphere, there's nothing better!John, KPHX

Hi Simmers,Got an e-mail from some DS that said that I sent him an e-mail with a virus called W32.Klez.gen in it, and that his great Norton anti-virus system saved the day. He further suggested that I get Norton, and this won't happen again. First of all, I never sent the man an e-mail in my life, and second, I have the other virus protection system, and it can't fine anything on my computer. Now, I think that this is a sales come-on, and plan to do nothing about it. However, is there a way that I can use the FIND feature in the Windows system to locate the W32 file, or any part of it? Thanks...Folks.Regards,Bob I

Hi all, After Fsimming on Vatsim I decided to go ahead and play Tower again. Well, at first it wouldn't install off the CD. So then I found out about www.the-underdogs.org and they do have it for download there and that version installed. Keep in mind I have XP. So then when I tried to play it it said something to the effect of "this version of msvcrt20.dll is for Win 32's" Well, after an hour or so I got it working perfectly again. Here's what I had to do. In the Tower folder you'll find an old msvctr20.dll file. Delete it. Now, go get a newer version of it. I think it's already in the windows/system directory, or it can be downloaded (just search for it on yah…

Besides the obvious fact that the new Peotone Airport's (about 1.5-2 hours south of Chicago Midway by car) identifier will be KEON because of the EON Peotone VOR, what will the official name be?I am suggesting Paul H. Poberenzy. He is a 30 year pilot vetran of the United States's military. He is a test pilot, he has flown over 350 different types of aircraft. He is the founder of the world famous EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association.) What better man to have the new Peotone Airport named after? It is my opinion that Mr. Paul H. Poberenzy has earned his right to have a major airport named after him. If you agree with me, then send me an email at;[email protected] wil…
