Came across this video (The Tiger just wants to play). Looks like it's in a lobby of a hotel, convention center? Can't tell, buy I can't help laughing at a tiger chasing someone who's screaming, trying to figure out the circumstances, probably in the Arabian Peninsula. My favorite theory is a member of a royal family having his pet tiger chase the hired help 🤣

This is just intended as a light-hearted topic and I hope won't become hostile or turn into a sim war. (It's a post about history so it shouldn't). The question is asking (mostly those who have been in the hobby for 10 to 20+ years), when considering even some of the very high quality features and advancements we have in MSFS now (like ground scenery), are you happier now, simming in MSFS, than you were in a previous generation? Clearly this is very open to interpretation but I'd suggest perhaps eras such as where FS2004 dominated (2003-2006), FSX (2006-2011) or P3D (2011-present). Clearly, if you are still a P3D user at this point, then the comparison with MSFS w…

It's probably my favorite TV series now. They made 635 episodes as well as five Gunsmoke movies. It ran for 20 years. All with the same main characters. They play on 3 different channels here in the warehouse; sometimes two or three episodes in row. I don't watch that many every day though. This afternoon they played the very first episode. John Wayne introduced the first episode. The main characters were the same ones that played all through the series. Matt Dillon was younger looking and he lost his first quick draw gunfight. But he recovered and killed the guy in their second gunfight. Doc Adams didn't look old enough to draw Social Security yet and wasn…

When one remembers what the iPhone (or non-Apple equivalent) was 15 years ago and how much more powerful they are now, I wonder what the Apple Vision Pro will be in 15/20 years from now. Coupled with AI, a formidable enabler for each and everyone, a power multiplier.

This was an eye opener for me. I don't mean what to do with the controls when taxiing according to the wind direction since I always practice these things in the sim. What I mean is that never having piloted a real aircraft, I did not appreciate the amount of physical force that the wind could produce on the yoke (though on reflection, I guess it makes sense in such incredibly strong wind conditions). At around the 7 minute 32 second mark for example, the control column completely overcomes his already pretty solid forward pressure into the full back position and he needs to respond instantly with even more force (then both hands) to return the yoke to the full forward po…
