I have to tell this to someone, anyone, because I just need to rant and let it out even if no one cares, I am so angry I feel like my head will explode. (I find writing therapeutic) (Disclaimer: I am not a REX hater now, their products have given me years of joy and I still appreciate their work.) [My Rant] A few days ago, I decided after 5 years, to finally reinstall Windows 10 Pro because all the issues I had that just kept relentlessly popping up all the time using such an old and broken in WIndows OS install. I have 3 flight simulators installed: FSX:SE, P3Dv5 and X-Plane 11 and I still use them all regularly depending on my mood. They are all highl…

Several years ago I published a number of my boyhood stories about my brother and I growing up on the streets and parks and playgrounds of San Francisco. I thought I would reprise them to celebrate my 90th year by posting one every Tuesday. To my grandchildren, Many times while you are growing up you will hear your parents, grownups, and your grandma and I say, “It wasn’t like this when I was your age.” What was it like when I was your age? What did I think and feel? What did I do? How did I play? What was school like? What were my friends like? How was I different from you? My world in 1945 was not anything like the world you live in now. Many of the thin…

Navigraph should create an addon that users could put on their system that allows the user to enable the various sim platforms and their locations on the computer. Once enabled it just reads basically the users use over the year. How many flights, how many hours, averages, types of planes flown with averages. For XBox users it would be an opt in feature. Come time for the annual survey, a review is created and then its more a q&a of you have flown this many hours, you have averaged this many etc, of your sims you use you have used this sim this % amount and this other sim this % amount. Then you can sign in to the survey and upload your results and fill out the que…

After many years of simming, I got the opportunity to go on a level d 737-800 sim today. All the years of playing flight sim payed off - all my landings were on the markers, smooth, and on centerline. The instructor was very impressed with my knowledge, and basically let me do whatever I wished as he didn’t have to instruct me :). Just writing this post to say - our home sims really are great training tools. In fact, the level d sim felt easier than my home cockpit (peripheral vision, g forces, more precise controls).

When I was in the fourth grade I swiped a yo-yo from the toy counter at Woolworth's. I'm sure my opponent would find out about it and use it against me during the campaign. Or worse! They wouldn't find out about it until after I won the election and then they would try to impeach me. To spare my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the embarrassment it would be best for me to never run for office. Noel

No, I'm not about to complain about costs, I believe a) you get what you pay for and b) devs work hard and deserve support. What irks me is onerous and extended installs and product activation. I purchased a rather pricey a320. Upon completion of the purchase a tiny, "Download here," window appeared so I clicked it. It disappeared with no further dialog. To obtain the download again, I fill out a form with the invoice number. That opens a window that wants invoice number, email used in purchase and the serial number. Okay. Now I get the download. Downloaded is two exe's. I run one which tells me to run the other exe first (no, no readme). Okay. Install goe…

Thought you all might like to hear about this, a severe storm hit Buenos Aires and damaged quite a few parked aircraft, including an Aerolineas Argentinas 737-700. Severe Storm in Buenos Aires Leaves Nearly 20 Aircraft Damaged - Aviacionline.com I wonder if this plane was chocked? Would a plane move like that if it was?

I have a touchscreen that I use for my Airmanager support gauges. I also have glare shield led strip for my panel. So I thought it would look better if my touchscreen matched the color of the panel as if in a real plane the glare shield lighting or flood lighting would light up them in the same color. Where as my G5s and GTN750 project light instead of reflect it, I've left those alone. So here is the results: No gel used on the support gauge screen Green gel used on the screen. Red gel used on the support screen This is what you can google to look for them Gel Filter Colored Correction Gel Light Filter Transparent…
