For the past few weeks I've been planning my meandering flight around the world that circumnavigates some continents. I didn't want to miss anything. I mentioned before I will start on New Years Day, January 1st. It took a bit of doing to include favorite places I've been and places I heard about that piqued my interest. There a couple of times I got tired and thought about giving it all up but after a day or so of rest I plodded on. The flight in my Quest Kodiak will take 251 flying days. Of course it will take longer than that because I doubt I will want to fly every day and there are chores like medical appointments and grocery shopping and getting tired…

Cute & cosy 🙂 Looks easy to use, and fits small sim desktop setups... Apparently works well with P3D, MFS and XP. OCTAVI: Worlds Smallest Cockpit... For Real? - YouTube

Ouch! Us poor apes wouldn't even know whut' hit us. Seems like if you saw a nearby civilization getting too advanced, you might almost have no choice but to smush them before they became an unstoppable threat.....

We have a TV show here in the United States about a company that repossesses airplanes. Usually GA aircraft where the owners have defaulted on finance or lease payments. This morning was a 2 hour episode where they had to repossess two Airbus A320s from a European airline that went broke. To make a long story short the Airbusses were in Ankara Turkey. One had a dead APU battery and the other a bad brake manifold. So the repo company made the fixes and flew the aircraft to the Azores where they sat while the repo company was racing the clock to get US registrations on the aircraft before the airline declared bankruptcy and the EU took possession of them. …

It didn't happen to me like when I get up in the morning or when after a test flight I'd be like "Oh, this is my main sim now", it really didn't caught my mind until I start to think about it. Now "officially"(?), I think my go-to sim is switched from P3Dv5 to XP12. Why? even myself is not that sure, 2 main things I could think of: Pressure altitude temperature correction and much more stable (less likely to CTD). Temperature correction is not something you might noticed if you don't know what to look, but once I know that, it's hard to go back, kinda weird we have flown without it in almost any sim for decades! My v5 still quite likely to CTD, I may s…

Very retro! I suspect pricing will determine if there is a nostalgia/curiosity market for this. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2393730/Legendary_Pilots/?beta=0

Since I moved into a retirement home (A warehouse for old people) I've got a lot of time on my hands. I watch a lot of television programs; mostly old westerns like Gunsmoke and Wagon Train. The TV feed into the home only has 38 channels so between news programs and movies and sports channels choices are rather limited for someone not interested in the news or sports. But I have my flight simulator. I do quite a bit of flying but mostly I've been creating scenarios. I have 352 aircraft spotted at several airports around the world. And I have 1150 scenarios spotting my Quest Kodiak at airports and float bases around the world. It's taken me 5 months to create the…

I’m sure there are plenty of us who were old enough to remember that awful event. I was a 12 year-old living in Sydney, Australia after my parents emigrated the previous year. We didn’t hear about his death until Saturday morning and I always remember the reaction of a friend’s mother when I told them. Sydney is 16 hours ahead of Dallas so it happened at 04:30. I appreciate this is a political subject but it’s the events of the day I’ve always been interested in rather than JFK’s politics. Having watched Oliver Stone’s JFK and numerous documentaries I remain convinced the fatal shot was fired from forward and to the right of his car. The evidence in photos of th…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zubndM2hrpE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OyQNsfkc_0 Noticed that the passengers were carrying off their luggage, so instead of getting out they were more worried about their carry on luggage. And some of the passengers seem casually walking with their luggage under their arms found another utube on same crash, there is another one showing one of the passengers filming the landing over the left wing view, after the 3rd bounce of the aircraft you could see the wings on fire and the rest of the passengers screaming, took about a minute or longe…

We are flying from Wellington to Christchurch this afternoon for a staff retreat and today the weather is already a notorious windy day and raining sideways. October and November are the windiest time of year here so rest assure it will be a bumpy ride. Forecast is already calling for 35 knot winds at our time of departure Maybe I'm crazy but I love these bumpy flights 😁
