I have always seen people flying these little things all over place. I am currently a student pilot (3 mroe flights and im ready for my checkride) and Im looking for some info on these little planes. They looks like great fun and affordable to fly. If anyone can direct me to the requiremnts to fly one and a helpful website that will be great. Im also wondering if anyone can give me what the average two seater sells for. Well thanks for any information.

I wanted to write this post in the hopes of finding some Active Private Pilot Students out there in the US. I am currently working towards my PPL and have accumulated 27 hours since December 13, 2002.I try to fly every day, weather permitting in the Piper Warrior II at KOWD (Norwood Municipal Airport, Norwood, Massachusetts)I have not soloed yet, due to the weather and icy, snowy, windy runway conditions here in Massachusetts. It would be good to be able to discuss our progression and experiences towards getting our Private Pilot Certificates. Maybe we can send each other questions/problems to discuss and they may be answered amongst our selves or other active real world …

Hi all,Thought I would post on my other aviation hobby:Very High Frequency/High Frequency Radio aircraft datalink/voice, beendoing this hobby for more years that I care to mention! I use a HF ICOM RC-75 base station rx along with a Yupiteru MVT 7100 for VHF/UHF.Sortware: PCHFDL HF ACARS decode, Airnav Suite4 for VHF ACARS/SELCALdecode and of course 'normal' voice comms, antenna's are Datong HF Dipole and Wellbrook HF magnetic loop both have rotators also SkyKing VHF/UHF.The amount of traffic to listern to is enormous even with the goodold HF and infact new HF a/c datalink stations are coming on-lineit appears that only a few airlines use it at this time but I believe more…

Greetings Friends,I have a particularly puzzling problem that relates to multiplayer use in FS2002 when behind a NAT router. Be forewarned that this problem has been worked on by several people that I consider to be skilled in many aspects of networking, and yet no solution has been found. I need to be thorough in my explanantion of the circumstances, so this will be a somewhat lengthy post. But I'm posting it here because I know that some of the brightest computer wizards lurk here, and I'm hoping that this challenge will be one that you can't resist.I have set up a server for use by pilots interested in flying the bush country of Alaska together. This was set up as an a…

Gents,O.K...... So I am an internet security neophyte.I just recently became a broadband subscriber and was looking forward to trying out the multiplayer function of some of my favorite games.Anyhow, I fire up "Gamespy Arcade" to give Ghost Recon a try. As I'm trying to figure all this Gamespy stuff out, I check my firewall to see what's going on in the background. I felt very uneasy, seeing all the ICMP activity from different IPs, coming through the allowed list under the heading of "APHEX.exe" APHEX.exe is an executable that Gamespy Arcade needs to function correctly, so I allowed my firewall to admit it.So the question I have is: Is all this ICMP activity anything to…

OSLO, Norway -- A Norwegian teenager has been cleared of DVD piracy charges in a landmark trial brought by major Hollywood studios. The Oslo court said Jon Johansen, known in Norway as "DVD Jon," had not broken the law when he helped unlock a code and distribute a computer program enabling DVD films to be copied. "Johansen is found not guilty," Judge Irene Sogn told the court. She said prosecutors could appeal against the unanimous verdict. Read the whole story here>>>> http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/01/07/dvd.johansen/index.html

I just got hold of 20 megs of free web space in order to store things like pictures (including banners ;) ) on a server. However, after fiddling with my router options as well as Internet Explorer, I still don't have any clue how I will be able to upload files to my web directory.Sorry for posting this question here, but could anybody tell me how to get started? Thanks!

I am beginning my flight training and have narrowed my choice down to either a Piper Warrior (PA28-161/A) or a Cessna 172 (C-172/A or C-172/G). From all your real world experiences, which aircraft would you prefer and why? Thanks for all the help!================================Jeff Merver :-beerchug :-waveKSQL - San Carlos

I don't want to be rude but I don't really understand the idea behind the Richard Harvey Scholarship. I'm from the Netherlands and when a student wants to become a pilot over here, he is granted a loan. After graduation he simply pays it back. After all, if you get a job as a pilot you're very likely to get large sums of money in no time. Not being able to get a loan seems to be a serious flaw in the U.S. educational system. Simply put, why would we pay for the education of a person who will quickly earn more than we will ever earn ? Maybe I just don't get it, but could somebody explain this?Marty.

I was reading an article in the December/02 issue of "Airliner World" magazine. It was done by Tom Allett who visited JFK airport in the USA. There was one part at the very end that bugged me alot. It spoke about the spotting areas in US airports. The reason this bugs me so much to see the US airports doing away with the spotting areas, is because Canada normally follows the US norm. I can see a future with 10' walls around airports to keep the spotters from seeing in. :-madArticle reprinted with kind permission from, Tony Dixon - Editor - Airliner World Magazine.Generally speaking, local aircraft enthusiasts are an extremely rare sight at US airports, particularly those …

What is the point of this? I think it's ridiculous, why start a new network when you have VATSIM that will be better then any new network. Is this by the same people as that NATVAT crap? Pfft.. just makes me so mad when there is competetion in this kinda thing, there should be one big network. Drew Anderson- [email protected]

Hello,I am the author of a freeware flight sim tool called "FS 2002 Flight Assistant". It is a program for nearly every flight simulation - maybe you also know it - which provides speech command recognition and speech output; for more details, see http://www.thelindercompany.de.vu/.I am working on a new version at the moment, and I would like to know what could be improved. Anything you don't like? What can be improved? Thanks for your help in advance!Timm Linder, THE LINDER COMPANY Softwarehttp://www.thelindercompany.de.vu/

Hi All,I've just been enjoying the nice wintry wonderland here in Baltimore with 1/4 visiblilty. Now back to the sim world: I'm reasonably proficient in manually tracking ILS when the visibility is 2-3 miles out when flying something like the PSS Airbus. With smaller planes I can do even better!Which leads me to wonder: When flying big iron for an airline in the real world, is it possible or allowable (by whichever rules) for a pilot to manually fly the approach on ILS in really low visibilty? I would guess from my sim experience that it would be very difficult and unsafe. But that's just the fake pilot in me talking! :)Just curious! Thanks.

I like to simulate flights a real as i can get them and i was checking out airnav and also this place here http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/aviation/airports/map_airports.htmi noticed that if you click on some of the small airports, for example ranger creek, skykomish, etc the news under it says its "GENERALLY OPEN FROM JUN 1 TO OCT 1" ok what does generally mean? could a real pilot get permission to fly into this airport?? i dont want to fly into it in the fltsim unless you could do it for realany help along this line would be greatthanksciao!Brian S
