My M$ Sidewinder 2 wont work... It makes me mad because it works at random times. One day it will show up in the controls list and the next it will disappear and nothing I do will make it show up again. Yes its plugged in and installed... it just simply doesnt show up on the list. Ive tried all 6 of my USB ports and none of them are "magic". What is causing this? P.S. This is the LAST MS joystick I'm ever going to own. I'm sick of this, and other problems such as the joystick being very wobbly and loose in the center, etc etc.

This spitfire recently flew into Buttonville Municipal Airport.I was just unloading and she came right up the apron towards me...luckily I had a camera in my bag!Seen here is the pilot (from Ottawa) refuelling before leaving. He did a couple of T&G's and what a treat that was for all of us!The Spit takes off like a jet!! The aircraft apparently is all genuine - I wish I could tell you more - so enjoy the pix!

I upgraded o/s from win 98 to win 2000 pro, and reinstalled all my flightsims. Some of them weren't too happy with the switch, displaying glitches, but are still flyable.USAF was the exception. Already in the installation, it asked whether I want DirectX 6.0, and I said no, as I have D8.0 on my hard drive. I installed the version 1.02 patch supplied in the install didc.During USAF play, several features are n/a, such as preferences, training missions, whited out tactical maps, insert disc no.1 announcements, in short, USAF is practically unflyable. So, does this mean USAF goes to the trash can, or is there any way to reuse it under win 2000?Eytan Ornstein

I just came across this story on one of the news sites and thought it to be an incredible undertaking. As a type I diabetic myself on four shots daily, I can really sympathize with the limitations this man has to face. Interesting that he's chosen a Baron 58 for his flight, one of the default FS2002 a/c. ;-)http://www.lifescan.com/care/stories/cairns.htmlBest,KennethEDITED to include this link... here's the homepage of Cairn's endeavor:http://www.diabetesworldflight.com/

I'm thinking something on the order of a I Learned About Flying From That type of story. I'd be happy to start if there is an interest....

I've been watching our local news, and it turns out that a High Court has dismissed the possibility of a new airport in the Essex planes at a place called Cliff. It now sounds like Gatwick is going to be getting a second runway, and the possibility of other airports north of London to be extended also.Just wondering what all you others think. I'm for it, because it will provide a local job for me when i become a qualified airline pilot within a few years. Will

OK a couple of questions. The easy one is how do I place my picture on the Splash Screen of Fs2KPro?Harder one is the old chestnut about Mach at altitude.I have just returned from Toronto to Amsterdam on a KLM 747-400.It was a night flight and cabin info showed a speed of 616 at 37K.Weather was clear and wonderful views of Montreal and Ottawa were seen.KLM Captain announced that he has picked up a 100 mph tail wind and sure enough speed increased to around 650, so flight was 6.5 hours coming in half hour early. So, how close were we to Mach 1?What happens if 480 tons of 747-400 (half to three quarters full) reaches Mach 1. Does it pass the magic number? My fellow traveller,…

I just wanted to let you folks know of a GREAT BOOK I just finished titled 'North Star Over My Shoulder' by Bob Buck. It is the biography of a TWA pilot who grew up with the airline industry, flying DC-2 and DC-3 aircraft in 1930 until he retired as a 747 captain. Extremely well written with some great pilot stories of how it really was!! Money and time well spent.Check Six !!!!!Rick

I want to get the B-17 sim from Hasbro. It's a bit dated, but the reviews won me over. It was produced almost two years ago. O/s requirements were stated as win 98/me. I wonder if running it under win 2000 pro will create problems.Would appreciate your input.Eytan Ornstein
