Anyone have an issue when online with VATSIM and using AIBridge? The issue I am having is that the TCAS displays my own squawkbox connection at same altitude and direction.I BELIEVE this is causing the TCAS not to work as it is showing a conflict alert.Does anyone have any ideas, have I missed something in the install?ThanksJason

Aviation authorities are investigating the decision to abort a late night landing of a Qantas flight in heavy rain at Brisbane Airport.QF 638 from Melbourne was about to land just behind schedule at 11pm Wednesday when it suddenly "shot up steeply", according to passengers."About five or 10 minutes into the descend, we suddenly went full throttle and shot very steeply up and it was a bit scary," 17-year-old Adam Gilmore from Brisbane told AAP.The plane then diverted to Tamworth Airport where passengers were forced to stay in the aircraft and wait for four hours before flying into Brisbane at about 5am today.Qantas apologised to the passengers, but Dick Wright who was on t…

Just seen on news that an asteroid the size of a football pitch missed Earth by 75,000 miles. To put it in context, the distance from the Earth to the moon is 240,000 miles. - SO.. basically a VERY near miss.It would have generated power of 1000 H bombs.Only one problem with this, is that it was "only" discovered 3 DAYS AFTER it had passed Earth. I thought we had technology which could detect such "small" objects.Very worrying, but too late to panic! Will

Hey all,Well, its a known fact here at Flight 1, that if you can't find me working on the computer on Flight 1 items I can be found in the movie theater. Tom Main has threatened me several times that he was going to page me at the theater if he couldn't find me. I was able to snag some tickets tonight to see the new Matrix movie at 10:20 PM (Another Wachowski Classic). I just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know to hang around for the credits after the movie. Not many know this, but after the credits there is a special trailer for the next movie, Matrix Revolutions to give you the first preview of what is coming in November. So sit tight, it's worth the wait!…

So this does not get buried in the "other" thread, I have posted this as a new thread header. One of the contentions of the MAAM-SIM group is that RCS used bitmaps from the BETA of Briefing Time that was shown at MAAM during World War II Weekend last year. A BETA that was in possession of all parties, and which was done with Bill Rambow's bit maps.AVSIM, in the person of our Tech Guru, Matt Johnson, has compared some of the images from the BETA with those of RCS' B-25. We'll let the results (pretty much) speak for themselves. This page has large images on it. Be patient. If you end up with "x's" in some image areas, reload to get them all to display. We present this analysis…

It is a little light on the info and a bit heavy on the fluff, typical for a local newscast. If you have broadband, it may be fun for ya for at least a few minutes.http://www.katu.com/news/story.asp?ID=57494

We are very proud of the forums. In the period since April when we brought the new forum system online, it has not "burped" once. Given the traffic load here, the old forums would have been eating messages, destroying threads and generally misbehaving very badly. Thanks for being a part of the growing community at AVSIM Online! http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/8936.gif[p]http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/8937.gif[p]http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/8938.gif

I will keep this brief as possible, as I do not wish to add acres of bandwidth to a much discussed subject. I have restrained myself from commenting until, like everyone else, I saw the evidence, and I have not been privy to any information other than what the entire Sim Community has recently seen.I worked for the Maam-team for one reason: I wanted to contribute to a team which has some of the the very best designers, which was committed to producing a wonderful aircraft and wanted to raise funds for a rare aircraft collection. Though I am a partner in my own aircraft design organisation I take on free work where I wish. I think this a good combination and I do not wish …

Let me start by saying, that I have spent some time looking for this info, and I am certain it is out there. I just have given up after 30 mins.Does anyone know which forum to look at or does anyone have instructions for a PSS panel merge with Meljet or POSKYs aircraft. The few I have found simply state that one will not support another. Which I understand, but it is still worth looking for. Also, with the masters out there, I am sure something like Lee Heatherington's PIC merge exist, just where to find??Thank you for the timeJ. Hey gang,Does anyone have any information regarding Mesa's new sub "Freedom Air?"Here's what I know so far:--they use CRJ900s--they fly out of PhoenixThat's pretty much it...Mesa's website gives no information on it. America West's timetable shows flights operated by "Freedom Air." So I guess what I'm driving at is that since it is a sub of Mesa, Freedom would use Mesa's call and letter codes...right?And does anyone know how Mesa numbers their flights? I tried chopping off the leading number from the AWE flight number, but I couldn't seem to get them to match up. Anyhoo, thanks for any input.

A mother and her son were flying Southwest Airlines from Kansas City to Chicago. The son (who had been looking out the window) turned to his mother and asked, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big catshave baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?" The mother (who couldn't think of an answer) told her son to ask the stewardess. So the boy asked the stewardess, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big catshave baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?" The stewardess responded, "Did your mother tell you to ask me?" The boy admitted that this was the case. "Well, then, tell your mother that there are no baby planes becauseSouthwest always pulls out on time. Your mo…

Hi All,Some of you have known me quite a while here. And from Flightsim as well.I have created a forum site where one can post threads that interest me, and may interest you as well. It is strictly a non-commercial venture designed as a place to go that covers all my interests.http://pub207.ezboard.com/bpoliticsgivemel...tyorgivemedeathYou will need to register for FREE in order to post. No need if just browsing. This is not in any competition with either Avsim or Flightsim. It is actually out of respect that I created it.You see, I not only enjoy talking about flightsims, but I enjoy talking about other topics as well, such as Current Events, Politics, & Religion. …
