  2. Watching the news and seeing the inside of Baghdad airport, I was interested in seeing the flight arrival/departure board, the gates, the terminals.. all... quiet.. it reminded me of a ghost town in the Western US... I'm just wondering.. does anyone know when the last actual commercial flights were going into and out of Baghdad.. and when the very last one was? I'm not talking about the flights that happened in the 90s when the Russians and others were flying in there.. but when it was operating as a normal airport.where can I get this information?ThanksJeff

Does anybody know where I can find current, up-to-date, DETAILED information on the JetBlue fleet (such as reg #'s, different liveries, etc.)? The JetBlue website is very vague, and a couple Google searches turned up nothing. Isaac

Has anyone bought this product yet? I'm a bit wary of jumping into buying products on release, now that I've been burn't by Wilco with their very poor and premature release of the PICA320. I tried to get my money back but they never responded. Now I'm waiting for a promised patch. Anyway, the BBJ looks good but who knows. Opinions?

Since the vandalism of Meigs Field, take a look at the Chicago Sectional.I have left a pic here for you here:http:// boycottchicago.home.attbi.com/sect.jpg(Copy link and eliminate space between the / and b )So, how do you think the FAA will redesignate the Airspace. Will the shoreline still be open and lower since Meigs will be gone?So what will the FAA do? I say they will most likely extend Midways towards the shore, but wouldn't it be great if they just left it alone. :-)What do you think? This wekend my dad brought me a self-running Linux trial CD which I will probably dig into during the next few days. In fact, reading up about Linux I've been thinking about whether I should take the plunge and set up my system to host both Windows 2000 (which I am running now) in order to ensure compatibility with my games and SuSE Linux 8.2 (to be released on April 10th) in dual-boot mode.I know this is a pretty technical question, but do any of you know whether this can be done? I also have Partition Magic 7, with which I could create a Linux partition beforehand (though I would have to re-size my existing NTFS partitions for this).Cheers,

As reported by the local media here in Chicago, later today an emergency injunction is to be heard in order to stop any further destruction of Meigs field. Due to our rainy weather the last plane still HASN'T taken off yet from Meigs! So perhaps a judges order can be heard before the destruction continues.Weds there was a near mid-air collision over Meigs. It was averted thanks to the fact for now the Tower was still in operation! If you'd like more info and some video on the story head to;(believe they have the control/pilot conversation, quite telling!)(Dont have Realplayer8 installed so cant play the video. :~P )http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/040403_ns_meigs.htmlI fin…

After watching many Videos of Mr.Daley speak of his reasons fr closing Meigs, I have come across this list of words if strongly uses, over and over, and over, and over.- Fear- Fear- Fear- Public Safety- Ohare for general aviation- Midway for general aviation- Tax Cuts- Fear- Fear- I will build a Park- Fear- Repay- Fear- Meigs is a bigger safety issue than Ohare- Buildings being hit- Fear- Crashes- Uncertainty - Fear- Park- September 11- Fear- September 11- ParkI also think he needs a "Public Speaking Course" , as he stuters every so often and wil not stop waddeling like a penguin. If anyone wants to add to this list, please do so :)Happy Flying,Jason

I do think with our combined brain-power, resources (ok, if we don't by lunches next week....) and skill we can pull this off.We should find someone to sneak onto Meigs Sunday night and re-pave the entire runway at Meigs, maybe add an ILS and make 5000' long too.We could also start the rumor that based on Tricky-Dick's move that Boeing is actively seeking to move its World HQ from downtown Chicago to.....Peotone! (For those of you not into Chicago politics, the Peotone airport is being purposed to relieve KORD congestion instead of expanding O'Hare-and would not be under the City of Chicago).Or we can really send a message. We get all the PC pilots from all over the worl…

Hi AllIn a very strange move and another shot fired in the battle between City of Chicago and CGX, a series of trenches were dug by back-hoes across the runway at Meigs, closing the facility to air traffic. It was done Sunday night. No notice was given and there are aircraft on south ramp.No access and media is reporting the field is closed perminately. The Mayor is going to have a press conference latter this AM.Looks like a new default for next MSFS.....Tim_757

I've tried searching the forums today, but no joy 'cause of curiously long waits. Does anyone remember a link to a site that gave information on editing unnecessary startup menu items through msconfig? Offered a download that worked with updated listings. Possibly a site in the U.K.? I'd very much appreciate any insight.Regards,Rick

Does anyone know about the job outlook for pilots in Europe? Do European airlines hire American immigrants to their countries? I'm thinking probably not :( but I can hope. Also, on a sidenote, does anyone know that if I, a current american citizen, emigrate to another country, can enlist in their Air Force? Thanks!

BTW their is also an Antique car show at the airport. (Im talking old corvettes, cobras, model Ts or simalar)I don't know much about cars ;-) I have gone to the airshow for 3 years and its a blast. (F-14 flybys, Kc135 tanker flybys, C-17s) and all kinds of milatary aircraft and helicopters since an old airbase is within 20-30 or less miles form the airport.(March Airforce base) Not to mention old prop fighters and other restored old airplanes. On April 3, 2003 Northwest Airlines will diplay our new airline livery. It has been 14 years since the last change. New look totally, a very bold change, yet less costly. We have 77 aircraft sked to painted this year, 27 of them are new deliveries. All Airlink will remain the same. Here's a general discription, the fuselage will be a metalic silver, red tail with no logo, the logo etc will be on the fuselage below first class section. I do not have a pic as of yet, but as soon as I do I will post it.If you are in MSP, DTW, or MEM, aircraft will be there on the 3rd of April.:-waveJay____________________________________________________________________

I have a question that I hope someone can shed some light on. Are US flight attendants permitted to be in the cockpit during taxi, take-off and landing? It is my understanding that the FAA passed new regulations after a Delta Airlines 727 crashed during takeoff at DFW. The cause of the crash was determined to be caused by a flight attendant who interfered with the pilots during taxi to the runway. The pilots did not set the flaps properly. In the CVR, you can hear the female flight attendant scream as the plane is going down.Back in 2000, I was on an MD90 Delta Airlines flight from Dallas to Washington,DC. Upon boarding and taking my aisle seat, I kept watching the c…
