Hello.Does anyone know where I might get complete aerodynamic data sheets for the Space Shuttle orbiters? As you might not know, there is gonna be an updated atmospheric flight model in the next version of ORBITER. And there will be functional aerodynamic flight control surfaces in the next version as well as animated control surfaces. Currently the Atlantis space shuttle that will make use of the new flight model is using pure guess-work numbers to make it able to fly. It would really be appriciated if someone could post any links to sites that do have complete aerodynamic data sheets for the Space Shuttle orbiters.

Bombardier considers producing 100-seat jetALLAN SWIFT from Globeandmail.comThe head of Bombardier Aerospace says the world's third-largest aircraft maker is diligently studying the possibility of producing a larger regional jet.But Pierre Beaudoin said the division of Montreal-based Bombardier Inc. will not be pushed into a hasty decision by competitors Embraer SA, Airbus Industrie and Boeing Co., which already have aircraft in the 100-seat category, because a new Bombardier aircraft would have to be totally different, especially in terms of efficiency. Said Mr Beaudoin.Good for Embraer ! Read more :http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/Art...uery=Bombardier

Ok having some problems with DirectX 9.0bI've checked all the basic common problems, and this is not a common problem. It must be a configuration issue with my video card or drivers, so I guess I'm seeking the proper configuration method.I haven't seen any relevent configuration settings in the Display settings or the driver settings. So where would I go to take a look at this?Basically the problem is I am missing part of my HUD, infact the HUD will not display at all, neither does my thruster guage, or the fuel gauge. And the information in the cockpit, such as MJD and FOV/frame-rate does not show. It shows up in external cockpit view. And I can see the seems for the thru…

Someone recently reminded us that though we host the largest collection of space sim downloads in a single location anywhere on the internet, we didn't have a forum to accompany it. Now, with the additiion of this forum, that is corrected. Welcome aboard. We hope the space sim community finds a great resource in this forum and that it is usefull to all.

First off, thanks Tom for creating the forum here, I hope it will give some more visibility to the excellent work Dr. Schweiger had put into Orbiter. If the calibre of the discussions and participants here are of the same high quality as in other AVSIM forums, then that can only mean good things. This may be slightly OT, but I thought I'd mention to folks who may not be aware of them that there is a series of DVD sets being produced by Spacecraft Films, distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Video that will be of great interest to space enthusiasts. The URL is www.spacecraftfilms.comI just picked up the Apollo 11 set the other day, and while I haven't had a lot of time to …

After seeing the announcement on the Avsim front page, I downloaded Orbiter - I haven't heard of it before. I got the base and standard texture zip files. But, every time I run it (except in RGB emulation mode), it says 'initialising 3d environment using a hardware device failed' and quits. In the list of 3d devices, I have:- RGB emulation- Direct3D HAL- Direct3D T&L HAL- NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX... (list too narrow for full name)I have tried full screen and window mode, ticked 'always enumerate devices' and downloaded the patches, but nothing works.Help!

Hi All,I ran across a more than bewildering/anger inducing article at the Washingtonpost.com site today concerning the widespread false beliefs Americans have concerning the politics and realities of the day - and how Americans are lead to those widely held false beliefs. The article highlights a just finished study conducted by the non-partisan Program on International Policy Attitudes: PIPA for short. In a nutshell: Fox "News", and to an extent, CBS "News" is anything but... Avoid them like the plague for actual news, because they don't provide it. Fox News in particular is a marketing machine and nothing more, dressed up as a legitimate news organization. Get your n…

I figured I would try asking this on here since I know a lot of Flight-Sim guys are very computer savvy! My girlfriend is starting up a business and I am helping her start it up. We will be basing it it online and I'm not too familiar with web page hosting and what options are out there. I saw that Yahoo has a deal for a merchant site for about $40/month plus a portion of sales proceeds(1.5%). Does anyone have any advice or any other ideas for a place to host the site? Yahoo provides you tools to design the site which is also a big seliing point for us. I was hoping someone that has set one up before might have some insight. Thanks for any help!

I am having some bad issues with adware and spyware getting onto my computer. I have gotten rid of most of it with Norton AntiVirus but it still leaves one virus and four other adware threats on my machine. It has also caused some errors to show in windows explorer over the last couple days. Oh yeah, I have downloaded the latest updates for Norton AV without any luck in getting rid of the last few viruses. I know that it is good to reformat the hard drive every now and then but I have never done this before and my computer is about a year and a half old. I am running Windows XP as my operating system by the way. I read somewhere that reinstalling XP would wipe the hard dr…
