Would anyone care to comment on/explain why US Airways announced today that it was going to split its regional jet purchases equally between Embraer (85 ERJ-170s) and Bombardier (65 CRJ2s and 20 CRJ7s)? Normally I'd say they must know something I don't, but given the way the airlines are running themselves into the ground these days, I don't have that kind of confidence anymore. Just seems silly to me--go with one or the other (*cough* Bombardier *cough*) and save big bucks on pilot training, mechanic training, and so on. Hi fellow pilots!I've been researching some information from NASA about how aircraft actually fly, and it turns out that lift generated from pressure differentials between the underside of the wing and the upper wing only accounts for about 2 percent of the lift!! The rest of the lift is actually generated from the reaction caused (Newton's third law of motion dictates that every action is directly opposed by a reaction of equal magnitude) by "pushing" the air downwards.Many experiments have been performed on wings and it has been found that the overall shape of the cross-section of an efficient wing works extremely well at displacing air downwards, hence causing a lift …

16R/34L opened Thursday with the takeoff of a UAL777 and some F-16 flybys. 16000x200, bigger than the SLF at KSC. Theres a scenery file avail for 2002 that has it, waiting on a 2004 add-on...though in 2K4 you can see where it was "under construction" over there...Dave

My friend is looking to come over my place over the weekend of Oct 10~12th.Where would be the best place to find tickets? I've tried all the Expedia,Travelocity, CheapTickets, and such and they all to seam to give me $300 for air fare from DCA(DC National) to AZO(Kalamazoo MI) or $370 for 2 night if Hotel is included.
