The problem is I'm not on cable, or Dsl and don't use a router. Can soemone help me get a normal Ip address? (ex. 209.234.244.123) AndrewPS. I tried going to www.whatismyip.com and it shows the same Ip address (67.73.4.4) BTW Im on dialup.

I haven't followed this whole issue with FSUIPC going to payware very intensely. But what slightly irks me is that so many people seemingly fail to see Pete's side of the situation. Apparently, he has provided this product for a number of years, put his blood, sweat, etc. in to it, and provided very good support. So he decides to make a little bit of money off of his fantastic product. Now, I could see why so many people would be slightly offed by his decision; granted that they shared a right to the product as well. But it is Pete's product, and Pete's right alone to decide what he will do with it. So could someone please explain to me why so many people are angry?…

Just a question for when I get my PPL... when it comes time for my first solo(s), will I have a specific route assigned to me, or will I pick my route? #2: I heard that my second solo will have to be a cross-country, and not being sure of this, I meant to ask wether that means a Calif. to NY type of thing or if it could be a FL to NY type of thing?

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030715/dctu079_1.htmlThe US Air Force has decided to use 767's as its replacements for the aging KC-135 Stratotanker. Its designation in the USAF, will be KC-767. The KC-135 fleet has been plauged with maintanance problems, and usually 1/5th of the fleet is down do to corrosion problems at any one time. Currently most if not all of the KC-135 tankers are older than the pilots that fly them. The new KC-767's will carry 20% more fuel, cargo, and passenger capability. Congress is extremely happy with the idea. It will save 5.5 billion, with a B, savings in maintanance costs of the current fleet.

During the past year this hobby has seen an increase of freeware apps go the payware route. And many a simmer have voiced their opinion against the practice.Take Peter Dowson and his decision to take FSUIPC the payware route. Peter made a statement earlier in the year that simmers would have to start paying for his incredible app. A majority of simmers were outraged that Peter would charge for his hard work. Some of us forget that those who spend "their" own time and money to develop these tools, scenery, aircraft etc, do so out their love for the hobby. Now some of you may beg to differ about the "their love for the hobby" statement, as being contadictary, but if some…

Hi,This is in reply to your question from the locked thread in this forum, concerning my post from a another locked thread in another forum which I was responding to from one additional locked thread...... :)From BobP in the other forum:_______________________________________________________________I also have a large investment in PFC equipment. I'm wondering if we'll get double charged? I plan to buy the $20 FSUIPC and note that PFC also plans to charge me a fee for the FS2004 drivers. I understand the fee is to cover their cost to Mr. Dawson. I'm going to email them, and suggest they EAT that as a cost of doing business. _______________________________________________…

IMPORTANT Version 10 of DirectX will be released soon. This will be the first release to require registration by the User for access to all its facilities, and to need an access key from those applications which interface with it. Why ... should I pay for Direct X? The short answer is that you do not have to. The registration by users of their copy of DirectX is not compulsory. Here are the pros and cons: What you get if you don't pay: * The ability to run all DirectX-dependent application programs which have an access key. Such programs are called "accredited", in the sense that their developers or suppliers have come to an agreement with Microsoft which permits them t…

Why is there a Braniff Ad at the end of South Park?

Yes, I know, you're thinking not another piracy thread, but I really would like some answers on this. How come the flight sim community is so absolutely anal about piracy, suspected piracy, copyright, and etc?I'm not just talking about commercial products. Any person who has been in this hobby since around FS5 knows exactly what I am talking about. When BAO released Flight Shop, there was an explosion of freeware planes, and panels for flight simulator that had not been around before. And, before you could say "download" there were threads about how so and so had "pirated" their plane and how "so and so" had pirated their gauge. In some cases, a developer had intentionally…

Chicago uber weather geek and WGN-TV Channel 9 Chief Meteorologist is on the trail of former Meigs Fields (now back to Northerly Island) missing more detailed weather data!Check out Tom's WGN-TV weather page @http://wgntv.trb.com/news/weather/And on the right side under the ads, click on the WGN-TV "feedroom" (aka LOST WEATHER INFO)(Clicking on the picture of the doppler radar dome will work just as well). Now lets hope someone can tell use how to delete KCGX as a weather reporting station from FS2k2 & FS2k4! It will certainly reek havoc on a overcast Chicago day, to see a "Clear" hole opening up over meigs all the time. Due to the fact that "Clear" would be the defau…

Are the over wing exits on the A310 window exits without the window or doors?http://www.airliners.net/open.file/371179/L/

If Simulation software Workshop was never in a position to provide the A-310 then you should have never provided a download link. I meanplease the least you could do is check to see if an image loads or a file cna be dowloaded. What Beta testing? They completely suck and are the lowest class developer ever and have completely ruined my sim experience.I will prob need to fly mil sims for weeks to recover picturing every enemy as SSW.

I consider myself an avid Flight Simmer not unlike many throughout the world who have enjoyed the progress and development of this hobby. Over the years I have enoyed using Microsoft's Flight Simulator, watching new developments in visual effects, and seeing the variety of add-ons; many of which, from freeware to payware, I have enjoyed and to this day remain in my collection -- PMDG's 737 being the latest and struggling to get it's product firmly in the air. I once thought Microsoft ought to be paying these guys to develop the aircraft while they build the core sim. It has been a good experience from the beginning and I feel has allowed me to go onto earning Private Win…

Okay, so water in the fuel tanks is bad. But you still refuel in the rain, right? So then what do you do? Wait a while and drain the tanks? Go to extreme measures to try to keep the water out? Thanks!*edit* Oooh...another question, too...Let's say you always fuel up after you land so the tanks are always full. What do you do if the next time you're getting ready to fly you realize that you'll be too heavy if you take full fuel? Do you just go up and burn off as much as you need, or what (assuming you can't otherwise lighten the load)? Thanks again! :-)

There's a nice article about X-Plane's developer, Austin Meyer, in the August 2004 issue of Popular Science. Good details about the man, his product, and some comparisons to Microsoft Flight Simulator.JerryG
