hi,I ordered Fs2004 from provantage.com on Tuesday via Fedex ground, I just called and the person on the other side said "It's not scheduled for delivery until the 30th" which By the way is passed the guerenteed (or money back) 5 days for Fedex ground and I intend to ask for a refund on my shipping costs if they do deliver on the 30th. Have any of you had good experiences with Fedex ground maybe delivering packages ahead of schedule? I know they say 5 business days so weekends don't count but provantage shipped on the 23rd and 5 business days are up exactly on the 29th. So I hope they deliver and I dont have to ask for my money back :-) Okay, so have any of you had good e…

I am wondering a few things about the pictures available on airliners.net1) Why are they never a 4:3 resolution like a desktop monitor is? Does this have to do with the way a picture is taken? A manufacturor option? Just the way the author decided to take the picture. I would love to use some of the pictures on airliners.net for my desktop background, but can't because of the 4:3 ratio thing, and of course, good 'ole number 2....2) Why such small resolutions for the large picture option? Is that just for bandwidth or what? Thanks all,

OK more FSUIPC stuff ehhh?....NO! Read everyone. Pete decided to develop a freeware add-on IPC utility for the MSFS community in order to address what he thought were areas of flight simulator that could be improved. What are they? Some weather adjustments for a more real feel, which includes cloud, wind, and precipitation changes. Some minor flaws like short batery life which should never have existed in the first place with the number of Beta testers there are in world hacking this product apart. Ohh and joystick improvements and stuff.OK so Pete made a useful utility and now everyone is ###### 'cause he wants to sell it. OK well meybe he needs rent money or maybe h…

Okay, here are two really odd and unrelated questions:1) Does anyone remember which concourse Pan Am used at both Cleveland and Indianapolis? (This one may be a stretch.)2) Does the Wright Amendment out of Love Field apply to cargo operations? Thanks, guys!

Well I saw this show a LONG time ago, maybe a year or two ago. It just popped into my brain lol. It was about the opening of Denvers new airport and the closing of the old one, with the logistics involved in changing airports overnight, literally. Well they showed a clip with two United 757's in tight wingtip formation with another one in formation with the camera, it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. They were flying the short distance to the new airfield. Must of been ex-military pilots to pull off a stunt like that.

Greetings fellow flight simmers. I need some help unrelated to aviation. I really need to get my hands on some Aunt Betty's Creamy Rice (both chocolate and vanilla)[http://www.auntbettys.co.nz/products.php]. It's made in New Zealand, but may be available elsewhere. Certainly not here in the U.S. I want a case or something...at least a dozen cans. I will pay for them, shipping, and a special handling fee for you. I can pay by PayPal or however you wish. Shipping will be to Texas. If you can help, PLEASE e-mail me at [email protected]. Thanks!Boyd Barker, Senior Command CaptainKBOS Hub Manager & Director of Special ProjectsWestWind Airlines

I think you should take a look at this link:I thought it wasn't out till the 1st of August in the UK.Also, call me an idiot, but how does a copy of Flight Simulator 2004 manage to end up on the internet.Surely Microsoft is too secure, and they also know every beta tester?Thanks...James Pearce

An author at the online magazine "Salon" has re-opened the debate regarding the potential terrorist use of flight simulation programs.Unlike some of the hysteria re: flight sims (MSFS in particular) that arose immediately post- 9/11, this article does not attempt to firmly link FS to the 9/11 incidents, though the author does not reject the possibility that simulation may have played a role. The author did his homework, and the story is generally accurate insofar as its coverage of the current state of the art in simulations and add-ons. PSS and PIC products are discussed specifically.I have to wonder if this is going to ignite another round of "hysteria" regarding compute…

Normally I'm pretty good with this, but...In this picture, what are the two "extra" displays mounted on the outside edges of both cockpit stations?http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=3227...atic=yes&size=LGiven that this is the first 777-300, could they be there for systems monitoring and diagnostics above and beyond the normal systems? They appear to be displaying Windows-based desktops. Also, in the same picture, the classic Boeing "seat cover" fabric/material is used. I've seen it on all Boeing's I've ever flown in, and in all pictures. What the heck is it?! Some sort of sheep or lamb wool? Curious,-Greg

Insiders say that Boeing may close it due to lack of orders since Jan 2001. Continental's ordered 11, which may be cancelled.http://www.kirotv.com/money/2332751/detail.htmlSay it ain't so! The 757 is awesome!

A lot of people are missing the point related with FSUIPC 3.0 and Freware products. Or maybe, I'm the one missing it. If that is so, please correct me because I don't see anything wrong with Pete's recent announcemnet.I apologize with the mods for opening a new FSUIPC thread, I already posted this in another thread but I think this requires full attention.I think some of you need a very detailed explanation of how the new FSUIPC 3.0 will work in relation with FREEWARE products. Let me see if I can provide the explanation or I'm the one needing one. If you have a FREEWARE panel or any other FREEWARE add-on that works in FS2002 needing FSUIPC, and then you want to use it in…

...airlines go to great lengths to immediately cover reg numbers and airline markings? anyone who flies even a little bit is going to know an airline's color scheme when they see it, whether or not the name has been masked over.thxchris

I agree.. and I don't see all these add-on companies pony-ing up the cash for FSUIPC..What I DO see is these add-on companies writing their own. IN the scope of all FS things, an FSUIPC-type DLL isn't all that difficult to write...

I have a question about that fat part at the back of some 737-200's engines. What is it for?

Hey Everyone,Right now I've settled on the SoftComm Model C-40-20 "Silver Fox". In today's flying lessons, I had to chance to wear one and I just loved it. I found it to be more clear, quiet, comfortable, than the Sigtronics or David Clark headsets I have used during lessons. I was really shocked to see the very low prices for a headset that I think is amazing...Ok, now a question about the price. I see more sites with this model for $115-120 ( On Example of this price is here: http://www.spinnerspilotshop.com/cgi-local....html?E+scstore ). Now, on a site called L.C. Flight Products I find it for $98 ( http://www.lcflight.com/body_softcomm.html Fifth headset down). Should…

Since the number one MSFS developer of add-ons decided that it was time to get something in return for his 1,000's of hours, there has been some grumbles in the audiance. Sure, nobody likes to have to pay for anything, but it is a fact of life. Therefore I decided to get a new hobby. Something that I could afford. No matter what you say, if your serious about simming, then it is a hobby. So lets see what my new relaxing past time will be.Skiing, that sounds like fun.Now my new skies will be between $700 - $1500 as I found a pretty good dealer.I have not done this before so I will have to learn. $295Oh ya, I have to get up the mountain. $54 for the day. I had better only g…

Hey Everyone, This post is in regards to flying lessons. Upon arrival to the airport, I meet up with my instructor, and walk out to the aircraft. I do the preflight and after that we get into the plan, taxi to the run-up area then takeoff to the practice area. So far we have done slow flight, power on/off stalls, emergency landing practice, all the procedures that go along with it, take offs, landings by myself in three lessons. After landing we taxi over to the fuel pumps and fuel her up. After that we shut down and tie up, is that the end of the lesson? I thought there was supposed to be a de-brieifing/postflight talk - only thing we have done is walk into the office, s…
