We are T-7 days until release. Reviews have been very favorable. What do you think will happen?I might do a followup poll after the movie has been out :-)

If you take a look at www.ebay.co.uk, go to 'Community', enter ########## in the 'find a member' box and click on the submit button you'll find a member of that name. Click on 'sellers items' on the far r/h side of the screen and you'll find a range of DVDs for sale filled with freeware. The excuse for this is that he is 'providing a service' and 'making no profit'. I find that hard to believe at a tenner a go! Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

It was discussed a bit below I believe, but there have been new developments.I was wondering if you think it is safe to fly the low budget airlines as they seem to be having problems regularly. A new issue is that you will no know what you fly until you board.Last week Phuket Air had it's landing rights in Amsterdam suspended after several incidents and flying with a pilot with an expired medical test. This week Onur Air flew from Amsterdam to Turkey with two ancient Lockheed Tristars chartered from Sierra Leona and Kirchizstan, and registered to a Jordanian Airline. After checkup apparently one was told not to return in Dutch Airspace again. There have been more incidents…

Hey,I'm not trying to steal any of Ron's thunder what with the upcoming Eaglesoft Cirrus or even the nice freeware Cirrus of Beckert, Kraemer & Roehl, but take a look at this full motion Cirrus simulator with parachute scenario: http://www.certifiedflyers.com/This is not going to be an add-on for MSFS and certainly won't be on any home simulator budgets. Anyone purchasing a real Cirrus should consider this training though. I'd just love a few hours in it :).Zane

How Much will your next Add-On Cost?In looking at the thread in the other forum asking users how much a future Add-on will cost, It got me thinking.1) The sim comes with a 747.2) There are also Freeware versions available. So how much will the next add-on cost? So, I will guess based upon my exacting research of which I have looked at the stars, cut playing cards, threw my son's lego's in a pile and counted them to arrive at a suggested price which the only ones that know what it will be is the developer. ;-)So here goes.A Pure Guess, and may not be accurate, but provided as an example for where I see the hobby going:$79.95 per version, I counted 17 Different versions her…

Just read this on the Dow Jones newswire while checking my Boeing stocks (what a cool graduation gift). I wasn't aware that Airbus was producing the A350. Can't wait to see what that one looks like. Gotta love the news media.Whats America West's financial status? The article makes it sound like they're in the same financial situation as USAirways.

Hello friends http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pmimioja.gifSeeking the knowledge of Avsims Windows XP gurus. My FS9Aircraft folder has become massive with all the addon planes I have got...and the panels...and the sounds! To make navigation easier I want to change the icons of the folders according to aircraft type etc. For example all Boeing airplanes, panels & sounds will have the same icons.But...there are so many folders in there. Doing it the traditional way - (Rightclick-->Properties-->Customise-->Change Icon) - will take forever. Is there a way to select multiple folders and change their icons simultaneously?Thank you :)

It's time to renew my subscription or get something else. I've been using Norton since DOS days. I know that NAV 2004 is a resource hog, but I figure that's because it's working hard to keep my machine clean. Question: does anyone who's been using Norton for more than a cycle or two know whether 2005 is any better or worse than 2004 in the resource department? As good as I've got I can live with, but don't really want to take a step back.

I'm not sure why I'm even asking this, but I was curious so I figured I would ask...I live near a small airport in West Bend, WI (KETB). My house is right on the landing "path" so I get to see all the little cessnas close up as they make their final approach. On occasion, I've seen a B17 landing/taking off, roaring over my head where I felt I could almost touch it! But other than the occasional "Oshkosh air show stop over" plane that I see, it's usually a Cessna or some other single engine plane flying over my house a few times/day.Oh, and about once every two weeks, a small jet will land, then take off usually after dark..Now, a few days ago I noticed a Beechcraft B1900 …

Lately the reviews I have read do nothing but compliment payware aircraft. I feel this is a dis-service, especially when there are obvious issues that arise. If you say a product has no issues, and it has some obvious ones that require a big patch say that was released this past weekend, isn't that telling a little white lie? Don't get me wrong, the aircraft being reviewed are great and I have purchased most of them, I am just wondering how you can say something is perfect when it clearly isn't? Maybe not show-stopping issues (some may disagree possibly) but at least something that should be addressed. Am I wrong for thinking this?

http://www.flightlevel350.com/public_viewe...cat=75&pic=2866I did'nt think so - I thought a bit more expiditious landing would be generally safer for a large jet, but I'm open to correction.regards,MarkXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/05/11/...D8A0NA380.shtml This quote from a airline pilot's forum sum's it up,"They won't strike.I can imagine how upset the employees at UAL must be but I don't see strikes coming. I predict that the judge will allow the management to do whatever they want to do and the destruction of the contracts will be next unless the unions agree to go along peacfully and sign concessionary deals. The unions will make a lot of noise and threats but in the end I don't think there will be strikes. As ridiculous as it sounds I think that the courts will rule any strikes illegal because of the Railway labor act even though the RLA was violated by the…

The Times reports the death of Wing Commander Buster Briggs who, when commanding a squadron of glider-towing tugs in France after D-Day came across an damaged Hurricane 2B fighter on an abandoned airfield, and had his own fitters repair it. He flew it as his own personal aircraft - until someone in Fighter Command discovered his acquistion and demanded it back.A similar thing happened at the beginning of the war. Squadron Leader Harry Broadhurt's squadrom had to abandon its airfield in France. Broadhurst was shot up on the way back to England and crashed at Northolt where his Hurricane was abandoned. He realised that all the paperwork was lost or destroyed so had the Hu…

Every one flipped out over a C150 about 2k up doing 105 or 110mph and sounded their alarm. *rolls eyes* Ahh well, here is the link: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/05/11/evacuation/index.htmlIm curious to know why this action wasnt taken on 9/11 when a commercial airliner was flying for the pentagon after the attacks on NYC, and by then, every one knew about it.Ahh well, just a few questions in my min…

Saw this on AOPA.Read it here:http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/regulatory/ec_insurance.html/Snip"European Mandatory Aircraft Insurance RequirementsThe issueEffective April 30, 2005, new European (EC) regulations require that all aircraft operators (both commercial and private) carry liability insurance coverage with respect to passengers, baggage, cargo, and third parties when operating within, into, out of, or over the territory of a European Union (EU) Member State. There are "Distance Selling" regulations in force in the EU that cover internet sales. Typically these require suppliers to provide consumers with the following information amongst other things:- the identity of the supplier and, where the contract requires payment in advance, the supplier's address- the existence of a right of cancellation How many payware suppliers comply with these so as to be able to trade legally in the EU?The UK implementation of the regulations is in:http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm
