http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8198985546&rd=1If you will cut and paste this link into your address line of your browser you can see what I am looking at--and it ain't cool.I'm sure this guy hasn't authored all these planes, and he is selling freeware a/c from a lot of you that I know from the forums with EULAs in them forbidding this type of thing. I don't know if this has been beaten to death or not, but I wanted you, the authors to know what was up on Ebay.

Interesting (and tragic) story. You all remember that crash in October 2004 where this jet suffered double engine failure? They released the tapes which apparently reveal that the pilots were in a jovial mood and decided to take the plane as high as it would go....Have a read:http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/06/13/...ain701381.shtml

While looking for something else, I came across the following from The Copyright (Computer Programs) Regulations 1992 which, as far as I am aware, are still UK law. The regulations were introduced in response to an EU Directive, so I imagine they're common across the EU. Note that they amend the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988."New permitted acts in relation to computer programs 8. After section 50 insert

First, some stats from the Forum Admin system: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/119593.jpg This data is from the month ending today (June 14th at approx. 4 pm EST). What does all this mean?Log Entries: The total number of all IP's that viewed or accessed the forums in the preceeding 30 days. The peak is the number of IPS that occured on what day during the last 30 day period.Unique IPS: Of the log entries, the number of these that were unique. In other words, if John Smith visited the forums three times a day (on a single IP), only one of those visits would count in this stat, whereas in LOG ENTRIES, all three of those visits would have been counted.Total Posts: Duri…

Skytrax, the London based consultancy company has released results of its survey over thousands of passengers on the best airlines in the world. You can read CNN's report of it here: http://www.cnn.com/money/2005/06/02/pf/goo...dex.htm?cnn=yesIn the article there is a link to the results. I have flown in many of those airlines in my business travels, and I can attest to the quality of Cathay Pacific, ANA, Malaysia Air, Singapore Air, Quantas and Emirates. Edited to remove brain dead statement.

Hi all,Not that anyone would see this on the news with all the stupid stuff they are reporting today, but an aircraft has gone down in a Street in Ft. Lauderdale. It seems it was a Douglas Super R4D-8. (Pretty much like a DC-3, with a few changes, stretched fuselage, etc...)Very sad day.Thankfully, all 3 crew seem to have survived, which is a testament that they were able to bring that down in a street, and no one was killed. Link:http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...ll=chi-news-hedAcording to the reg, the Current Owner has only had it since March of 2005, and is owned by an Individual, who was not on the plane. Here is the Reg: N3906JDatabase search here:http://www…

Is there a new version of FE?Today's Headlines are once more announcing a new utility by Flight One: Flight Environment. A similar announcement had already been made last week friday, but had been removed a little bit later.I am totally confused now: Is this a new version of FE that was originally released beginning of April?Or is someone at Avsim helping out Flight One to compete with ASV? (which is fine for me, considering the fact that Avsim being privately owned, they have the right to announce anything they want within moral and legal constraints)J.J.

Greetings, fellow simmers. I'm walking on cloud 9 tonight. Just came off my first hour of dual instruction in a C172. After 6 years 'simming and wishing I was "up there", I'm finally embarking this year on my real training. Already my instructor was impressed with how well I knew my way around the airplane (thanks, Flight1) and commented that I seemed to be at home in the cockpit. I'm feeling like all those bucks spent on FS weren't in vain now, for sure. I was amazed at the amount of sensory information the plane gives you compared to the fairly sterile environment on the computer, but I have to say that all that time spent flying around my home area of Portland, OR in F…

This evening a Northwest DC-9 hit an A-319 while taxing to the gate at KMSP. From the reports it sounds like hydraulic problems started mid-flight, so this could have been a much worse situation. At least everyone was able to walk away from this:http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_130211546.htmlEric
