This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Take a five minute ride in an RC jet at 180 mph. The camera in the plane works really great. Listen to Satch and soar!http://www.rcdon.com/html/the_jet-cam_project.htmlThis gent lives near me and is a friggin' genius. Smart too.Check out the turbojet and turboshaft engines he built and the turbine powered car that he drives around. Very VERY high quality design and fabrication all around.Glenn'Maintain thy airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.'

Hi everyone,My name is Chris Donaldson, I'm 19 years old, and live in Dunedin, New Zealand. I enjoy FS, msn, internet, aviation and catching up with friends.I first got flight sim 2002 about 2 years ago, and things just took off from there. I've flown around various parts of the world, but most of my flying is done in new zealand on vatsim.I'm looking to extend into the world of Scenery Design for New Zealand, and I would like to know what the best program to use is.I look forward to getting to know most of you.Cheers,Chris.

Hi all, I was a little suprised to learn that Continental Airlines had 74s, but when I checked airliners dot net, their most recent picture of a COA 747 was from 1995. Does anybody know if they still fly these? Thanks,Jeff

There is understandable confusion about copyright and patents, which is not surprising because different jurisdictions have different requirement. In view of some other recent threads, I've made some notes on copyright and patents, mainly from a UK perspective. Note that I'm not a lawyer so these comments are my own understanding of the situation and come without any warranty.COPYRIGHTCopyright exist as soon as something that can be protected is created and recorded in some way, eg on paper, on film, via sound recording, as an electronic record on the internet, etc. In the UK, and most jurisdictions, there are no official registers for copyright. So, there is no need to t…

Greetings all!In a thread that was locked due to Staffan's dumbly self-fulfilling prophecy, JohnCi posted:"(...) I was almost killed in Switzerland by a sudden storm in Grindlewald (...)"That makes two of us, John! Only for me it wasn't a sudden storm, but loosing my footing and bouncing head over heels some 30 or 40 meters down towards the bottom of the Gletscherschlucht of either the Oberer or the Unterer Grindelwald Gletscher. I forgot which one, because it's fourty years ago now: I was 19 at the time, and at that age one isn't easily scared or impressed. Seems to be a killer town, Grindelwald. That same vacation I had a couple (well... actually a lot!) of beers with t…

I am saddened that the original thread I started on this subject has had to be locked. I will say no more, but only think of those killed and injured and those close to them.

It's now reported that there were only three explosions on the Underground. They apparently ocurred between stations so that the blast effects of each explosion travelled through the tunnels to adjacent stations, giving rise to the earlier confusion.

Perhaps this is the wrong forum (if so, I'll re-post). I'm a regular contributor to this forum and have been doing FS since the beginning. I've traveled all to many parts of the world (Europe / Asia, etc.) in real life, as well as simulation, but I found out today that I'll be going to South Africa in October. I live in Allentown, Pa. so I'll probably use KPHL or KEWR for departure. This will be an awards trip and my wife and I will be going together.WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU EXPERIENCED Pilots give me? Should I stop somewhere for a few days en route....and WHERE? I hear it's a grueling 15 hour flight. What airlines would you choose, and what planes should I try to arrange to …
