HiI hope this is the right place?I am looking for two/three Spanish/English speaking pilots (male/female) to fly in a scenario being prepared for a FS2004 virtual flying club. The scenario will take place (hopefully) in mid July and will involve, initially, close formation, low level fast jet flying followed by interception and manouvering. Please ensure you have a decent MIG or similar aeroplane (plus teamspeak) and that it is freeware (so that the rest of us will be able to find and download it thus be able to see it)>Timing will be based on GMT and be around 10pm/11pm start. You will be welcomed initially as guests but hopefully you will enjoy the company so much you…

  7. Hello friends http://www.ifdg.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/bye.gifAddonitus: going *mental* just downloading add-ons for FS9 - and hardly ever flying.I thought I was above it and used to have a little laugh to myself when I read threads about people who have gazillions of GB worth of add-ons and found they hardly ever took to the skies. And now Im there myself http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...es/icon_eek.gifI find increasingly that when I sit down to fly in FS9 I end up downloading mesh, airports or airplanes...and then spend the next couple of hours hunting down panels, soundsets and the like.Never end up flying http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn…

I would assume that visiting the cockpit in Canada during a flight would not be permitted, just as in the US. Let's face it , from Canada , to the US is a pretty short flight, and a Hijacker getting in the cockpit in Canada, could easily cause a disastrous situation. They sometimes will let you visit the cickpit either before or after the flight.

AVIATION authorities lost two-way contact with a Qantas plane for more than three hours after it left Sydney airport bound for Johannesburg. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) said today South African authorities tried to contact flight QF63 by all available communication links on May 29, but were unsuccessful."They were trying to talk by a satellite system and a component of that system had failed," aviation safety investigation deputy director, Alan Stray, said."They then tried to communicate with high-frequency radio, but it can be affected by solar activity and down in the deep south it can be more prevalent."It's believed that was happening in the high-freq…

The gist of this topic relates to contractors (airplane manufacturers, etc) seeking compensation/fees from model manufacturers for using their name(s). As of now, they're not going to get it (the manufacturer's) but it's an interesting story and prompted me to think of the following:1. Anyone who has Ultimate Traffic knows that they must seek American Airlines logo from a source other than Flight1 because of an event a few years ago with a certain individual (expletives intentionally omitted)who wanted to secure exclusive rights to AA's name for his product. In view of this article (link below) do you now think that this would allow all software producers to use airline/…

  18. The current issue of Flying Magazine has a very positive column about MSFS and sims in general as regards their usefulness as practice and training aids for r/w pilots. It's a follow-up to an article in the same mag last month or the month before in which the columnist commented on his discovery that MSFS was good for practicing mountain flying and so forth. Personally, I don't really need r/w aviation recognition to know that this is the case - I know it already just based on the huge amount I myself have learned from the sim, but it's nice to see that the sim is "mature" enough that it is gaining some recognition as being potentially more than "just a game."

I realize there are already sectional charts available in the file library but I got sick of grabbing them separately. I grabbed the originals from http://aviantiontoolbox.org and made my own set, available as a single download. The complete set is about 500 Mb, and is available through bittorrent here: http://www.prodigem.com/torrents/download/...5_06_05.torrentThe set includes sectional charts covering the entire US including Alaska and Hawaii. Also included are all the Terminal Area Charts, which show more detail around large airports. These are the same charts that US pilots use for VFR flights. Hopefully they will make your flight simulator experience a little more r…

From AOPA:Helicopter lands on Everest The summit of Mount Everest is no longer reserved just for climbers. A Eurocopter Ecureuil/Astar AS350 B3 recently landed on the world's highest peak at 29,035 feet, sat for two minutes, then flew off into the record books for the highest landing and takeoff ever by an aircraft. Taking off from its base camp at 9,403 feet, the helicopter repeated the feat the following day on May 15. It was piloted by Didier Delsalle as part of the company's efforts to show what production helicopters can do in extreme conditions.++++++++++This should be fun to recreate.Bob

How are the engines numbered on a 4 engine aircraft ? I say the number 1 engine is the outboard engine on the left wing, number 2 on left inboard, number 3 on right inboard and number 4 on outboard right as you are sitting in cockpit. A buddy of mine that flew bombers in WW2 says the opposite. IE number 1 starts on outboard right side and so on.Budo
