thus far, the leading theory is that a sudden loss of cabin pressure and pilot unconsciousness were the cause. what makes this peculiar however is that: - the 737 pilots should have been able to bring the plane down from its cruising altitude. instead, it appears that the pilot was not in his seat, and the co-pilot was already unconscious. - none of the bodies found in the crash have been wearing their oxygen masks. although this could be explained by the fact that on-board emergency oxygen supply provides air for only 15 minutes.- F-16 pilots which got to within 100 meters of the plane did not observe any fogging/window misting, which is usually evident after/during a r…

I thought it would be anything above -300 fpm. But I have heard from a RW pilot that -500/-600 would be "heavy". I asked that pilot at what point the gear would be damaged and the reply was probably around -900/-1000 fpm which seems amazing to me. I thought gear would crunch at maybe something around -600 fpm. How do this data seem to others?JS

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can give me some details on Falcon 4: Allied Force. Like, do you need the original Falcon 4.0 or can you just buy Allied Force. How are the graphics, are they up to date with our current expectations? Or anything else you can add to this. Thanks!Jeff

Hi all,I was just flying the FLight1 version and I noticed it descends quite steep so I was curious:How fast is the descand on an average 152 with full flaps and no thottle? I haven't flown a real life Cessna in a while and when I did it was a 172 and I can't recall any figures, but it seams to me it was between 700 and 900 fpm depending on airspeed.Would appreciate any answer.

Anyone here ever stayed at the Rennasance Hotel in Atlanta on the airport? I hope to stay there while at an Airline Historical Society collectables show in Atlanta. My hope is to get some video, as the hotel has balconies on the airport side facing the runways. Thanks for any suggestions, as I'd like to do some extensive videoing for a project. Also, does anyone know of any good spotting spots that are friendly for us guys since we cant go into the terminals any longer? I know the parking lot just outside of the main terminal is nice because of the over-flights, but I want something more fence-side. Thanks.

Hey all. As part of a research project I have put together a little site that lists all of the previous day's incidents/accidents as reported by the FAA and NTSB. I thought it might be of some interest to everyone on these forums...http://www.wingswatch.comI apologize if this isn't the correct forum for a post like this, I took a look around and this seemed to be the most suitable. I hope you like the site, and any feedback is welcome!

HOUSTON, July 27 - NASA suspended further flights of the space shuttle fleet on Wednesday after determining that a large piece of insulating foam had broken off the external fuel tank of the Discovery shortly after liftoff Tuesday morning, the same problem that doomed the Columbia and its seven astronauts in the last mission, two and a half years ago.http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/28/science/...agewanted=printbt

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!First, some background: I now live in Walnutport PA, very near the Lehigh River south of Slatington airport AKA 69N. Noise abatement procedures for runway 19 are to follow the river to 1200 feet before proceeding on course. The location of my house is almost perfect, aircraft departing north usually circle it up to 3/4 of the way.I went to the airport to look around and noticed a vaugely familiar looking plane based there. Turned out to be a Volpar, Beechcraft model 18 converted to trycicle gear config. Found out it was in the library and grabbed it. I departed Runway 19 69N for KAVP in the Volpar. cleaned up the plane and followed NAP. At…

We've got something called Websense here at work. It blocks us from viewing any unsuitable (or what the company deems unsuitable!) sites. I've thought at various times that I really should look into getting FSNavigator so I decided to have another look this lunchtime. Tried to access the site...."Your organization's Internet use policy restricts access to this web page at this time. Reason: The Websense category "spyware" is filtered. URL: http://www.fsnavigator.com/"How ridiculous!! If I could get hold of Mr Websense I'd give him a piece of my mind!!! :-mad I'll just have to wait until tonight then.Victor

I have a legitimate copy of XP Pro that came with my Dell. I just tried to validate it and after it FAILED the scan and told me they had no product key they had on file, I immediately called product support at M.S. and what was explained to me really made my hair stand on end! This is the TRUE skinny: This new Microsoft Advantage Checker/Validation program/patch DOES A COMPLETE inventory of your ENTIRE hard drive and ANY Microsoft product you have on your hard drive is inspected and if M.S. does NOT have a registration key for that particular product, it will REFUSE to allow you to update your WINDOWS OPERATIONS SYSTEM.They TOTALLY lied! M.S. claims that they do not HA…
