I have all the manuals on learning to fly from a flight school. FREE to any one who wants the entire kit in the Levittown Pa area. It beats throwing them out if I can help a new student save some money.

http://www.avweb.com/eletter/archives/avflash/702-full.htmlSoftware originally designed for computer simulations has become an important tool for air traffic control centers to predict and manage the flow of aircraft traffic. Therefore NASA has declared its Future Air traffic management Concepts Evaluation Tool (FACET) the Software of the Year. The software crunches air traffic and weather data across the country and can predict the trajectories of aircraft, including climb, cruise and descent phases. It enables a single computer to track 15,000 flights and tell controllers when and how each is going to get to its destination. Its core technology is now use by 100 ATC cen…

...adding Without that day, we probably would not be here doing our thing in Flight Simulation today/.../It was the day that the personal computer was first sold to the public Well, in August 1981 I was playing FS1 and another sim the name of which have slipped from my aging mind with my 48 K Apple ][. I switched long ago to the PC world but, hey guys, flightsimming preexisted to the PC :-hah :-lol !

For me a period of time has been entered, while waiting for FSX, wherein FS9 is becoming boring. Having seen the improved scenery resolution and read about the new features so it is difficult to sustain enthusiasm for old FS9. My suspicions about the fidelity of the flight models, and some other quirks, come to the surface. They just make waiting that much harder. Guess I will go to CNN and watch the Middle East war footage.Dick near airport 5G8

I understand that operating Windows Vista and Windows XP on one computer is possible due to the magic :-) of hard drive partitioning, but I'm not quite sure how to go about this, although I do consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about computers. Could someone please explain how I go about HD partitions?I;m hoping that I shall not need to revert to XP except for Internet connections (the Vista installer tells me that my wireless adapter is not compatible with Windows Vista) as so far I have not experienced any problems with Office 2007 Beta 2, Internet Explorer Beta 2 or Window Media Player 11 Beta... Thanks,Jacob Fordham

Anybody into flight simming owes it to him/herself to see this movie! Suffice it to say that, besides all the outrageous scenes involving snakes on an airplane, there is one particular aspect of this movie that every simmer will find particularly humorous. I'll leave it at that. :-lol

Hi all, I usually dwell in the BFU Forums but thought I'd post these here where more folks can appreciate them! I was at Elmendorf AFB's airshow last week in Anchorage, Alaska, and I finally uploaded some pics. A great day, even with the "liquid sunshine"! Enjoy!http://groups.msn.com/FredandRobinBrosius/...006.msnw?Page=1

Hi,I am going on an RW flight from Oakland (KOAK) to Montgomery Field in San Diego (KMYF). Any tips? I was thinking of avoiding the Central Valley route over Tejon pass, and instead flyKOAK SNS PRB RZS FIM VNY SLI OCN KMYF at 9,500.LAX should give me the "LA Coliseum Transition" through Bravo airspace at 9,500 according to the terminal chart, which goes VNY-SLI direct.Anyone experienced in RW Socal flying who can give me a tip or two?- Neeraj

(1) On this RPLC Runway 02R approach are you really supposed to cross over the airfield first? What's the purpose of the downwind leg if your flight originated from a city to the south? https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/t...ils_rwy_02r.pdf(2) This CYFB ILS Rwy 35 approach PDF shows that I can approach from EBDIG and AGDUB using a 15 DME arc. Fine. But why does the cross-section show a leg from TIBEG (on the localizer) that goes down the localizer then back up it for the approach? Why would I be using TIBEG as an IAF? https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/t...sdme_rwy_35.pdf(3) How does one engage this PAIM Rwy 24 approach? The cross section sugg…

I was unaware that Northrop/Grumman had recently shaken down a flightsim publisher for alleged "trademark infringement" until today, when I read a very long and disturbing thread here:http://www.igda.org/Forums/showthread.php?...15&pagenumber=1A quote from that thread:"I spoke to Mr. Patrick Joyce (REMOVED PHONE NUMBER) at Northrop this morning. He is the person who handles such things for their company; it might even be his only responsibility. Anyway, he was the person who requested TM fees from the Russian developer and eventually received said fees from the French publisher. He is not an attorney but here is what I could gather from our little chat.Northrop/Grumma…

Just thought I'd put this on here to see how many of you are in the same boat.Does this happen to you? You know how it is ...you decide to fly in a part of the world you have hardly been in, go to airliners.net to check out what airlines fly there and then spend the next 10 fruitless hours searching feverishly for liveries of not-so-well-known airlines because the FS9 "lets keep it real" mantra kicks in http://www.planet-smilies.de/computer/computer_021.gifThis reached a bit of a mental level with me until I realised in FS9 the sole purpose of liveries for me is screenshot value (you dont want your Air Europa 737 over Singapore). From the cockpit or wingviews it does'nt r…

Would d/l a torrent cause nasty stuttering in FS9? (It seems so!) If so what would be the main reason & are there any settings which can be altered either within FS9 or Utorrent?
