So, this is my first post regarding my flight training in several months. I'm not arrogant enough to think people missed me or my posts, but I don't want anyone to think I quit after 45 or so hours. Basically, life threw one of those nasty head-splitting curveballs my way. Without boring you, my marriage of a mere six years has come to a crossroads. Being a child of divorce, and knowing first hand the damage it can do to children, I always vowed to never end up that way- as did my wife. Unfortuately, I just don't think all woman value marriage these days. When they are purely in love, and enjoying the passion of marriage they're all for it- but as soon as things coo…

Did Aloha Airlines actually fly regularly into BUR or were they just chartered flights. I found some photos on airliners.net. Scroll to the third and the sixth photo's. The reason I did it that way was becuase I wanted everyone to see they actually flew in and out of BUR. Take a look:http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...es=79245&page=0

Well, that is pretty much my dream plane so I clicked the link to check out the video. And I have to say, holy christ is that pilot HOT! She is also the manager of sales support for Columbia! Emily Watters... Come to me... :)HahaSeriously, I think it would be intimidating to fly with such business saavy, obviously accomplished pilot who also happens to be ridiculously attractive. I would probably be so self-conscious I'd bounce it off the nose gear or land on the wrong runway. Here's the link in case the banner is gone.http://www.flightvideoproductions.com/columbia_400.htm

I am looking for info on the average range of a long range DF transmitters of the early 1940's timeframe. I am going to do some transoceanic flights in a Boeing B314 Clipper. Pilot's plane does have a DF radio, some DF transmitters located at various seaplane basis the clipper flew to, and a sextant gauge can be added. So my plan is to use the sextant until I am within range of the DF transmitter. However the tranmitters that came with the program default to unlimited range, so I need to modify the ranges for the transmitters.

http://www.computerworld.com/action/articl...ticleId=9027558"According to Net Applications, in June Windows Vista accounted for 4.52% of all systems that browsed the Web, up from January's 0.18%. Vista grew its usage share each month since its release to consumers Jan. 30, hitting 0.93% in February, 2.04% in March, 3.02% in April and 3.74% in May. Apple Inc.'s Mac OS X, meanwhile, accounted for 6.22% in January, hit its high point of 6.46% in May, but slipped back to 6% in June.If Vista's uptake trend continues, it should pass Mac OS X in Web usage share by the end of August."It seems, from the article, that although Mac users are upgrading to the newest versions of Mac h…

On Saturday July 14, 2007 I was schuduled to fly on Alaska Flight 401. It was the flight from Burbank to Seattle. The aircraft was an MD-80. The flight was schuduled to depart at 8:10 am. N962AS was the aircraft. Anyway, we began boarding at about 7:40 am. I was excited because it was my first time on an MD-80. We were boarded and I could hear the tug begin to rev and we were starting to push back. Might I add that this was Burbank Airport and if a flight gets canceled or delayed, there is not a lot to do there. So we were pushed back and sat for about 10 minutes. The flight attendant came on and said there was a problem with the Air Conditioning and that they had to taxi…

any idea why the a380 uses engines 2 & 3 for thrust reversers? its a heavy aircraft equivalent to a 747 that has reversers on all 4 engines. shouldn't the landing run increase by only using 2?regards

I am trying to work out the best way to enter a hold as shown in the following chart. Beginning at SLI to MAAGG, then out along the ILS and into the hold before going back to land. The advise I have from a tutorial is "continue outbound on the localizer for 1 minute past SNAKE, then initiate a left 235 degree turn (180 + 45) then join the localizer inbound again." Is this the best way? Are there other options.Chart here http://www.laartcc.org/charts/KSNA-I19R.pdfthanks,Mark.
