Let me 1st say they are one of those people that as soon as they publish something, I'll go ahead and get it. I had changed computers and did not uninstall their products from my old computer. Well about last month I bought a new computer and reinstalled everyhting. Everything worked as expected, reinstalled all their stuff etc. I installed The FS9 on Vista and XP. Still working good. Just as I upgraded my BIOS on the cd-rom This thing popped up while booting up FS9 saying my cloud9 products needs to be activated, F4 phantom activated, Aviano activated, and when it came to DCA, it said it could not be updated... I finally emailed their support and they tell me that my ser…

We often remember to mention tragedies in our home countries--always sorry to hear about an aviation disaster wherever in the world it may be. This came out on the wires several hours ago and it appears to be quite a tragedy. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070718/ap_on_...zil_plane_crash-John

So I drove from CWG, Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA to Nova Scotia, CANADA. Where I went, there is no airport close. Anyways, I was crusin on the north side of Lake Superior and the air temp was about 12' C. About 45 or so F. The lake had a fog over it. I was driving in the clear. The lake was a few hundred yards away. It was like driving IFR above the clouds. Nice effect. Don't think FS does this.JimCYWG

Since Microsoft could not afford the wheels for the Beaver a problem arises, for me, when approaching a shore with no dock. If you beach a Beaver is there a process to get it off and turned to resume flight? Or, should you just bite the bullet and slew it back into the the channel?Regards,Dick BoleyA PC, an LCD, speakers, CH yoke

Hello! As far as I know, Air Canada operates 5 variants of the B767-300ER:B767-333/ER, B767-375/ER, B767-38E/ER, B767-3YO/ER and B767-35H/ER.Each model is fitted with a different engine type, CF6-80C2B6F and PW4060.My question is:As the B767-300ER is certified at various Maximum Take-Off Weights (from 350,000lb to 409,000lb), what are the MTOW's of the 767 variants Air Canada flies?

I did a search and was surprised to find no mention of this news on AVSIM.It's going to take a while to get used to thinking of O'Hare's old 9R-27L as 10-28, the new name it assumed last week.Next month, KORD's current 9L-27R will be renamed 9R-27L. Sounds confusing, doesn't it? This will help sort things out:http://www.flychicago.com/ohare/runways/As you can read, KORD's runway configuration will continue to change until 2011. That's a pretty long time of not having an accurate rendition of one of the major airports of the U.S. on our computers. KORD will essentially become a new airport from the standpoint of runways with new parallels and the closure of the 14-32 r…

Just being watching a TV program on the famous Dam Busters raid during the WWII, and how they came to design the bouncing bomb. The conclusion of Barns Wallace tests, found that if a object is dimpled, it would travel faster & straighter.Even though this final design was never used by them, mainly down to time constraints. The example of dimples was well demonstrated with golf balls.A golf ball with no dimples; but exact in every other way to a normal golf ball only went half the distance, 150yards compared to 300 yards. So, my mind asks, are there any aircraft that have being tried with a dimpled design? It seems like there would be compelling benefits to do so, i.e less…

(yes i'm saying it again)the plane flies like a champ, she takes so SOOOO smooth and flies smooth as well. we were climbing at 125knots and we got to 8500 in about 8 minutes if that. did some slow flight and the plane flies very nice even at slow flight! (about 70 indicated) also when the plane stalls the nose does not budge down, it'll just sort of buffet.landing the plane is very nice too! we came in to apporoach at like 170 knots lol (maybe even faster, i think i remember seing a 200 there haha) and were able to slow the plane down to app speed of about 90 very quickly! 24. We just had a severe t-storm in the D.C. area with a tornado warning. In the middle of all this I spotted a jet airliner turning down the Potomac at about 2000 AGL headed for KDCA. I don't understand this: if pilots say, oh, we never fly land or takeoff in a t-storm, how come I just saw such a thing? Also, many aviation accidents have occurred as a result of flying right into a t-storm, usually (but not exclusively) windshear on approach, etc. So I find it strange when folks say, turn off your t-storm for a sim landing because in real life you just wouldn't do it.How bad must the weather get to abandon an approach and landing in a t-storm?JS

Okay, so here is my issue. I have been working literally forever on a DVD project which I plan to burn to DVD for all of my friends to enjoy. It also portrays the many uses FS has as a tool in today's aviation community and DEFINITELY not just a game.Situation:I have 2 files I have made. Both are in DivX format (I am using the latest DivX codec) and each file is 700 MB.I figured, "Okay, I'll just burn both movies to the DVD back to back and they'll come out as one movie". I even have the joining ends edited so that they will merge perfectly back to back.Problem:I cannot find software capable of making this possible. My word! It's SUCH a simple task -- but EVERY DVD …
