I was thinking about this yesterday. I thought I heard that American Airlines was retiring their Super 80 (MD-83's) fleet as of last year and replacing them with more B737-800's? I just looked at KDFW on Flightaware.com, and they're still going strong! Does anyone know the scoop on this?

Hi,Just wondering if other people have been liking Windows Vista. I heard so many bad things about it but when I tried it last week I really liked it. I liked the look, the feel, the fact it was easy to turn off visual effects if I wanted it faster, the "Classic" view. Although I'll probably only get it with a new Pc I generally thought it amazing how something which I thought was so well done has had so much bad press!Further thoughts/opinions welcome,P.

Question for you....Your sitting at the end of a runway, getting ready to take off. But the runway is actually a very large treadmill, and this treadmill could match the forward speed of your aircraft exactly, but running in the opposite direction. Could the airplane takeoff?I'm inclined to think it would take off, but others have arguments.Don

According to the Times today, the Western Gazette newspaper in the UK reports that the AgustaWestland helicopter company banned the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Service from using the company's airfield at Yeovil. The reason? The air ambulance service doesn't use AugustaWestland helicopters helicopters! They report that "Guiseppe Orsi, the chief executive, ... flew into a rage and demanded that the air ambulance be moved."

On Avsim's home page, the passing of Mark Pechnick is mentioned today. Flight Assignment ATP was such a source of relaxation and entertainment for me when it was released. So much has developed since then, but we owe so much to Mark I can't even fathom how to quantify it.Regards,John

I want to change my 3 crt monitors for 3 TFT widescreen monitors. I am using Matrox's TripleHead to go at 3840 X 1024 achieving stunning results with FSX. I think with 3 widescreen monitors the maximum resolution is 3840 X 768. Is anyone using this configuration or does anyone have any ideas on whether there is a clipping of of the top and bottom of FSX's output. Maybe you just get a bigger field of view ? Cheers, Jim.

Or more to the point is it cool (legal)? I was looking for the music of an old computer game, "Alone in the Dark" (it's a classical piece, something ronde something, if you know please tell me) and came across a site filled with abandonware, the first thing I did was go to the simulation section and found a simulator called "A320 Airbus" from like 92' (anyone ever heard of this, looks neat for something so old) or so, and I was going to download it, just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be considered a "pirate, arghhh." Thanks,Jeff

I'm not exactly sure if this is the place for this question, but this year i will be flying into Pheonix via Atlanta on a Delta 757. Looking at Seatguru, there are 2 variations. 1, the transcontinental, contains all the fancy stuff like direct tv and such. Is this route flown on a transcontinental?(also, do they fly transcontinentals out of Albuquerque? I'd assume not but i guess anythings possible.)

First, for all those seeking an agenda, this apology was not solicited, asked for, the result of a bribe, or the result of some diagnosis of a fatal illness for which I felt I need to make amends to reach the pearly gates. That said....Simply put, I am sorry for my comments to Tom and as a result, observed by the wider community in the recent thread in the File Library forum. I acted as if I was in a vacuum, as if I was the only one who could have a "bad hair day". No excuses for that--as a former mod here in the forums I should have understood that more than anyone else. Thanks for reading, and regards,John
