Had an idea at work... thought I'd test you spotters and see how well you can identify all of these planes by their nosegears. Good luck!#1http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180958.jpg#2http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180959.jpg#3http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180960.jpg#4http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180961.jpg#5http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180962.jpg#6http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180963.jpg#7http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180964.jpg

In the UK a STAR for a particular airport begins at a waypoint on an airway and terminates at another waypoint with an associated hold. Aircraft can fly from the terminating waypoint to any runway at the airport. At London Heathrow (EGLL) BNN 1C begins at Honiley (HON) VOR for aircraft using L10 and N615 airways. It terminates at the Bovingdon (BNN) VOR.At major airports aircraft are generally radar vectored from the terminating waypoint/hold onto final approach, although here are published charts for those times when radar vectoring isn't available. These charts are called Initial Approach Procedures. For example, there are two of these from Bovingdon (BNN) covering run…

Ramp Rat: A person who works on the airport ramp, servicing planes or handling bags in the bag sort areas.I work as a Ramp Agent for SkyWest Airlines aka United Express, at Denver Int'l. I have been here for over a year, and wanted to share my daily experience since I know many of you are curious about what its like to work for an airline.Thursday:First day back to work after a relaxing "weekend" with friends and at home. I drive to work via Pena Blvd, the "airport road" leading to Denver Int'l airport. The employee parking lots are near the terminal, of which there are two: Airside and Landside. I had one of those dreaded family funerals to attend in my native New Zealand last week. Getting there is a hurry was quite the experience- DEN-SFO-SYD-CHC and return. On the flight DEN-SFO, and the SYD-CHC-SYD legs, I flew on an A319/320 aircraft. I noted that when the aircraft came to the approach speed reduction, a "rumbling" noise similar to spoilers was heard, but having a wing-view window seat there clearly were no spoilers or flaps- and it wasn't gear as that happened later with a big "clunk" and those little electric wirring motors. I could only conclude that this was coming from under the wing or fuselage- or elsewhere on the upper fuselage. Are there airbrake…

OK, getting my pilots license has been the best thing to happen to me in awhile. I took this girl I've been dating up yesterday- she had never been and was excited to go. I decided instead of just sight seeing I'll give her a dream date. So I met her at the airport and flew her out to Martha's Vineyard for dinner. We had a great flight out- smooth air, no clouds below 12,000. We flew along the CT coast, up to Newport, and then over to the Vineyard. She was cracking up everytime I talked to ATC and thought it sounded so cool. She was laughing saying "I want to say niner on radio!" haha. I let her fly around a little bit. So we got there and I had a great landing- th…
