There isn't a OS Forum, so i'll post my question here. It is FS related though. In XP searching for lets say all summer textures in Scenery/World/texture was easy, just had to type in 'su' and it was done. In Vista this doesn't seem to work anymore. Maybe it's easy, buy i just can't find it. Anyone a hint?Regards, Gerrit

Hey all,I've spent hours trying to find this livery on airliners.net, but no luck so far. The problem is I don't know the name! All I have to go by is the picture from Google Earth. It is an airplane at the bottom of Airside 4 (bottom-right) at KMCO (Orlando), right next to Midwest Airlines. It's white with a blue, and two green stripes around the front of the fuselage. I would like to incorporate it into FSX. It looks like Air something, but maybe someone knows what airline it is just by lookin' at it. Thanks, if I have to make the textures myself, I'll be sure to post them right here at AVSim!! :)-CJ

Hey guys, I've been visiting Licolnshire recently & took time out to visit RAF Conningsby. On the 3 occasions I've sat at the end of the runway I've spotted Highland Airways G-UIST BAE JS31 flying out regularly around 4pm. I'm intreagued as to why? Does anyone know where it's off to or why it's flying into Conningsby? I'd love to update my Highland Airways flightplans to incorporate it.There appears nothing on the HA website although I'm aware they do fly into RAF Valley.Cheers in advance

I am tired of companies that take flight-simmers money and give nothing in return. Case-in-point: Captain Sim: possibly the worst-of-the-worst. Flight-simulator enthusiasts have an absolute passion for aviation and that passion sometimes makes us do dumb things, me included. From the day Captain Sim started selling airplanes I've bought them - the 727, 707, C130, and the 757. I bought them based on appearance and here I have to give them credit, Captain Sim airplanes are gorgeous. But once you get beyond the aesthetics Captain Sim should be ashamed.I appreciate the programming that goes into designing a flight simulator airplane and I understand fully that no flight sim a…

Do we have anyone from Las Vegas, NV that can help me out on a project. I am I am building some scenery for Las Vegas (MS Flight Sim 9 and FSX) and I am in need of hi-res photos of Billboards around the Las Vegas strip, off the strip and in and out of McCarran Intl. What I am looking for is complete hi-res shots of the billboard image itself (not the billboard from the ground up). Is there any chance you might be able to help me on this project. I am looking for 20-30 different images. If you could email me te hi-res digital images to [email protected] in advance

I just got a pretty remarkable offer on a 2000 Baron from a friend of mine who is an instructor at a flight school in West Virginia. I'm giving serious consideration to selling off the old 206 and stepping up to the twin to haul the family around and was wondering if anyone could give me some pros and cons of the Baron.

hey, can anybody tell what it takes to reduce the landing time space from normal 2min to one a minute at an airport?

I was looking at a picure of a guy sitting on the left seat of a 777. Someone commented that for the guy on the left seat it must be like watching paint dry. You could see the want to be commanding the whole flight. I was flying between two points and the computer was running the flight. I lost situational awareness as to where I was. Had to get it all back again to fly the flight as I want to do.Long live the RFP747WellJimCYWG

Hi; My question to you is this. Do the major airlines use their aircraft like the Airbuse's or Boeing's on short haul flights of say 500 miles and under? If for instance one would fly from CYUL to CYOW or CYYZ is it realstic to use a 767 or 757? For training flights, what would be the size of the circuit saying they used Mirabel to pratice either touch and goes or full stop landings? For training circuits what would the altitude be FL240 or higher? What I'm trying to establish here is a base for using FS9 to duplicate some of the above mentioned flights. Any advice or hints greatly appreciated . Robin

kind of an off the wall question what with the dollar gaining strength and lots of great fsx add-ons i can't afford because the dollar had a big disadvantage the past year or two. just wanted to know if fsx add-ons would reflect current exchange rates in the near term. granted add-ons like pmdg md-11 and the 747 are in a league by themselves and can dictate pricing because of the complexity of the software. guessing there was a time when something was priced 24.99 in pounds and also 24.99 in dollars and guessing we won't see something like that again?

British Airways' flagship Concorde Alpha Charlie (G-BOAC) is getting a new home at Manchester Airport, England. After being permanently loaned by British Airways in October 2003 she has been kept out in all weather and in Manchester's notorious damp climate that cannot be a good thing. So, starting next spring, a new enclosure is being built together with a new visitor centre to do justice to this magnificent aircraft.Read the full story here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7686163.stm and more here http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb....cordeconferenceCheers,

HiI was given a copy of this today and was wondering whether to install it or not. Now, in the past I believe Norton products had a bit of a reputation of being 'hog-ware' and didn't really help FS very much. Whether this is true or not I don't know.So - what do you think? Some friends from Symantec tell me that IS2009 is much leaner - but what do my FS colleagues think? At the moment I use the freeware AVG and Zone Alarm and am pretty much an advocate of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but am I missing out on something better in Norton IS2009?With all due respect and in the friendliest way possible, I'd be very grateful if people who use other anti-virus/firewall pro…

BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- A new-generation short haul passenger aircraft solely developed in China has completed a successful trial flight, paving the way for commercial production next year, the manufacturer announced on Friday. The Xinzhou-600, developed by Xi'an Aircraft Industry Company (XAC) of the China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I), flew on Thursday in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, said the AVIC I. The turboprop aircraft was a new version of the Xinzhou-60 that can carry 50 to 60 passengers. The Xinzhou-600 had been updated with a more comfortable cabin and better designed body structure and maintenance system, said Gen…

While the product itself may be good, it will take me another 2 and a half hours to find out. I purchased the download (415MB) using PayPal. Well, I wasn't too happy about Perfect Flight's $5 surcharge for using PayPal, but I was even LESS HAPPY when I started the download and found out that they only have what seems to be a dial-up connection. My high-speed connection of 20-25MB/sec couldn't garner any more than 58KB/sec transfer rate. Normally, that would have been over 15 (fifteen) times that. Absolutely no excuse for that kind of customer support.Think twice before downloading this one. I wish I had. In fact I probably wouldn't have purchased the product if I'd known …
