A bizarre find among the rolling stock in the new Rail Simulator 12, I'm not making this up by the way, there really is a flyable Airbus A320 in this rail sim when you search through the rail shed:Incidentally, for anyone into train sims, there are some nice improvements on previous incarnations. One of the vehicles you'd expect to find:Al

Hey Guys,So I will be stopping over at London Heathrow for two hours while waiting for a connecting flight. So I was wondering what I could possibly do there, and if you could suggest some location (within the airport, I'm not leaving LHR at any point) from which I could watch airplanes. It would be cool if I could watch them landing and taking off; get like a nice high overview of the airport activities, but I'm not really picky. How easy is transport between terminals? Is it free?So I appreciate all suggestions about where I could planespot from at London Heathrow.Thanks!airindia16

Folks,A sad day indeed: B-17 "Liberty Belle" burns to the ground after a No. 2 engine in-flight fire drives crew to an emergency landing in a field. The field was too soft for the fire engines to make it to the aircraft, so the B-17 crew (all alive and well) watched as Liberty Bell said her fairwell.CNN Video. Photos. ABC News article and video. "Liberty Belle" Foundation Statement.A fond farewell to Liberty Belle's proud heritage!- jahman.

See for your self: www.microsoft.com/games/flight/ A lot of people are saying this will be a arcadey style game, and the traditional flight sim feel will be gone. But on their site they are actually targeting a flight sim based audience. Graphics look brill, and the terrain looks excellent. My main concern relates back to FSX. Will the flight sim audience will having to be spending thousands of notes to make the game run effeciently? What do you all think? (Never heard of this until today when i was browsing through a PC Spec forum :L)Tom.

I just had my first flight today with my dad's friend and wow i am i hooked. Flew from N51 to Orange County Airport in NY, almost stalled of short final, but my dads friend saved me.:( Flight sim did help with VOR navigation and and flying but now feels dull compared to the real thing. Now i would kindly ask if any one knows which are good flight schools in the area in central Jersey? I plan on getting my PPL as soon as i turn 17 so i can work on regionals after collage. Thanks in advance!

Seems that the younger generation have added/changed the meaning of the word 'cool'. When I was recieving my Secondary School education in 1952-56, the word 'cool' was the opposite of 'warm'.Has this description now been changed, and what does 'cool' now actually mean and why has the English language made this change?I hear another abuse now with the name of 'wicked', seems it's not a name for a nasty person any more, or is it? It's applied to something that some people regard as rather exciting? Why then has the English language become distorted, as these alterations make English, (not an easy language to learn any more, nor has it ever beeen) harder to learn? Why has the…

Hey folks,by chance I just happened to run into a EC135 helicopter and its pilots and got to know about the helicopter laser radar system, HELLAS. FYI, I learned the system is intended to make even very thin objects visible to the pilots, as they still could pose a potential danger to the rotor system - think of cables and such. The manufacturer's website states it works up to distances of 1000 meters, which I think is quite impressive.I have seen how the thing looks from the outside, and I have been told the info is visualized on a seperate screen on top of the glareshield (can be seen here but it's dark). But now I'd really like to see how this screen looks during opera…

Hey guys have not really been away on a trip that required a flight to get there for sometime, anyways I have got a DSLR backpack that I was going to carry onto the plane, in it I have my camera, a few lens, batteries plus charger and a tripod, my plan was to maby take some pic's or maby a video during flight, but then I thought maby security might have a problem with this bag and all its compartments or might see something as a potential security threat. Im just flying from Toronto Canada down to the Bahama's to get a little vitamin d its been raining here on the east coast since April and I need a break, I will probably check with Air Canada anyways but just wondering…

HiThis might sound like a weird question, but what does a fully reversed propeller look like? I've seen pics of feathered props on parked aircraft (mainly on turboprops), but never of one in full beta while the aircraft is stopped. Why are pictures never taken of a stopped propeller in beta? Is it bad for the gearbox and/or engine?

This is a rant about customer access. Many customers, myself included, are not computer experts but do enjoy the flight simulation.I fly my own private plane and also enjoy flight-simming in the fictional world. I have purchased a lot of sim software and hardware. It is annoying to me how the honest, money up front customers are being made to jump through hoops for access to products and support for products that they have purchased all in the interest of trying to defeat software pirates (an exercise that even Apple has not mastered). I accept the fact that companies must protect their products but at what cost to customers?I used to download products from Flight 1 but s…

Remember a few years back when Avsim was unfortunately compromised and everyone started getting loads of email spam? Well, the Feds and Microsoft solved the problem for us. They brought down the Rustock Botnet and all, and I mean ALL the spam I was getting in that one particular email account (the one I'd been using for Avsim) disappeared and vanished completely THE NEXT DAY! I know the spam originated from the Avsim attack because I'd never gotten spam in that account before that incident. I am soooooo grateful. Anybody else notice a drop in their spam load?http://krebsonsecurity.com/2011/03/rustock-botnet-flatlined-spam-volumes-plummet/
