I didn't see this in the theatres. I had no interest, because I assumed it would be hollywood shlock. My low expectations (and yucky theatres) have caused me to miss more than a few movies at this point, only to find years later that I actually liked them, sometimes a lot. Like Pandorum, for instance, that had terrible marketing, and turned out to be true science fiction and not what I expected at all. Or even Gravity...... (I would have loved to see that on the big screen...... Anyway's, this is a surprisingly good movie, thanks again YouTube! NOTE! If it wont play in your browser, click "Watch on Youtube" in the lower left corner.

Ya' know, I've been chosen so many times now that I actually just assume that if I am ever catless again, the distribution department will automatically search for a suitable new partner....

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1983009/uk-bristol-airport-runway-extension-plan-translantic-flights The link text makes sense. The actual headline had me wondering how Simbrief would cope with a sub 500ft runway config 🤔🤣

Was to build a model of an oil rig he worked on. A strange object to worship in matchstick sculpture which took 15 years to build, but he did get into the Guinness World Record book. I'm sorry I could find a better video. I went to YT to hunt for this because I saw it in a Ripley cartoon.

I first watched this movie when I was a young lad of thirteen at the American Club in Tehran, Iran where my father was stationed as the head of a project to design and oversee the installation of VORs linking Karachi, Pakistan with Tehran, Iran and Istanbul, Turkey. I was so moved by this delightful and musical film featuring the Vienna Boys Choir (Weiner Sanger Knaben), that I begged my parents to emigrate to Austria so I could audition for the WSK... Needless to say, that ask went over like a lead balloon! However, this movie inspired me to take up playing the organ. In any case, I did eventually manage to sing with the WSK many years later when they came to Corpus…

I have been involved in flight Simulation since the days of the Link Trainer (yes, I am old). I have owned most of the significant computer simulators since the Bruce Artwick Sublogic simulator around 1979, including the Lockheed Martin 3D and all flight simulator versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator. I now have the latest X-Plane 12 and MSFS 2020-2024. There have been tremendous improvements, especially in graphics. So, I am down to the latest three and feel qualified to comment on them. X-Plane 12 is an excellent Flight Simulator. The graphics are not as good as those in Microsoft versions but still excellent. Its aircraft flight dynamics are superior to those i…

I wrote this Christmas poem this morning: Over the fireplace, hung with care, Were stockings with gifts for all who were there. For Grandpa a pint of his favorite rum. For Grandma a new song for her to hum. For Papa a pack of his favorite cigars For Mama a bag of her favorite fig bars. For Johnny a pistol and a roll of caps. For little Suzie a dolly that takes naps. But for baby ******* his stocking hung bare. Though we searched and we searched almost everywhere. The gift he wanted even Santa couldn't find. Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Mankind. Noel

It’s a good time to fly to Europe from the other side of the pond. There’s a very powerful jet stream for the next couple of days. It will exceed 200mph in the white area. Probably best to avoid flying in the opposite direction unless you’re in Concorde as it’s way above all weather. 😁
