I saw a flight on Flightaware the other day called "BUY319" and the aircraft was type Embraer170. I know "SWA" is Southwest Airlines, but, what airline uses the "BUY" code? I haven't been able to find it on the net. Do any of you know?

Startup airline is looking for new pilots. No experience necessary. We will teach you how to fly on our state-of-the-art flight simulators. First scheduled flights to start on January 20th. Before being certified students must demonstrate the ability to start the engines using autostart, taxi from the gate, find the end of the runway, takeoff, use the autopilot to ascend to cruising altitude, set course to destination airport using GPS navigation, use the autoland function, taxi to any open gate, and collect your paycheck. Competition is great! A new flight planner, NavData and LIDO chart provider is getting underway with their offering: https://www.aviaplanner.com/ 3-day trial for free. A monthly sub at $3.50 or $29 for the year. "[Functionality] sections marked with an asterisk are under development and will be available in the next 1-2 months." Perhaps anyone who doesn't like Navigraph's cost could try this provider and report back? Credit to @carlanthony24 for mentioning this over on a FSElite comment section.

On a recent flight using Garmin Pilot I noticed a lot of VORs having a red box around them which means there is a NOTAM about service interruption. SO I Googled, "will VOR navigation become extinct" and found some interesting info. Mostly that there are way more VORs that I thought. This article had some good info as well as others but the long of the short of it, yes the FAA is looking to decommission many VOR leaving what they call Minimum Operation Network or MON in the event of GPS outages. They cite its because of operational cost and the fact that GPS has become a reliable alternative. https://pilotworkshop.com/tips/vor-decommissioning-as-of-2023/ …

I love model trains! As a kid in New York I used to visit the little hidden train stores scattered throughout the city and one really big store named Polks that is now long gone. I built little dioramas funded by my grandfather, and dreamt about huge and complicated model cities that I absolutely did not have the room for, not to mention the money, because those little Nscale German trains were expensive as heck. Now of course most of us settle for things like TrainSim world, But it's not the same. I just found out about this place in New Jersey and I very much want to go visit there. The little kid in me is stupidly excited.

A Spirit Airlines A320-200N, flying from Fort Lauderdale, FL (USA) to Port au Prince (Haiti), was on final approach to Port au Prince runway 28 when the aircraft was hit by 4 gunshots, resulting in a flight attendant being slightly injured. The pilots diverted the aircraft and landed at Santiago Airport in the Dominican Republic. Hi, I have bought a Kodiak 100 and am happy with this excellent aircraft. The only issue is a horrible noise inside the cabin, like heavy wind, but there is no wind :). The sound disappears when the camera is out of the plane or when I click on a second monitor. It's annoying. Can somebody advise me? Thank you in advance. Regards, J

Due to a brawl that broke out on board shortly after takeoff between players of the Auburn basketball team on the charter flight that was carrying them to Houston, the pilots first asked ATC to divert to Montgomery Airport and then asked to return to Auburn Airport.

We talk a lot about UFOs but what about something closer to earth? UWBs? Unidentified Walking Beings. The Abominable Snowman and Big Foot to name a couple. They are seen worldwide on every continent except, perhaps, Antarctica. We have seen grainy or far away pictures of them walking through the wilderness but have no physical evidence except for pictures and casts of huge footprints. How can such creatures remain secluded for so long? Why have other pieces of evidence except footprints not been found? Where are the caves or huts or even clearings in which they sleep been found? What do they eat? Why haven't we found evidence of cooking fires and foo…
