Hello!Whatever happen with multi-core and parallel programming? Why so many programs (including Flight) still keep landing in Program Files (x86)? Is x64 considered a failure or something? What's up? :Nerd:MAB

I don't know if anyone noticed or not, but we posted the following this morning:"PMDG today announced the soon to commence BETA testing of their eagerly anticipated B777 and surprised everyone by announcing that the next version of their venerable B747, Version 2.0, will follow shortly thereafter. Both will be released within a month or two of each other. At the Aerosoft Convention in Munich, Germany, today, PMDG made a presentation in which Rob Randazzo, CEO, reviewed PMDG's development processes since 2008 and explained how PMDG has made some fundamental design decision directions in their evolving product line. At this presentation Rob also presented some of the images …

1 person having a 757 for himself? And what's up with the 24k gold all over it?!?Kinda reminds me of the Saudi Arabian prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who has a Boeing 747, an Airbus A321, a Hawker Siddeley 125, and he has an order for a Airbus A380...Really? These people have no where else to spend their money. I can't even afford a 1977 Cessna 172.

Last week I discovered another way of using VORs. It seems that it is the way VORs were intended to be used. I used what I learned in MS Flight (I am not a real world pilot) and immediately created two tutorials about it. In addition I posted some more information because some people didn't understand it or tried to apply the usual VOR method to my tutorials.Tutorialshttp://forum.avsim.net/tutorials/article/34-intercepting-a-vor-radial-inbound-and-outbound-the-easy-way/http://forum.avsim.net/tutorials/article/33-getting-there-the-easy-and-original-way-using-vors/Additional posthttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/366627-my-vor-tutorials-additional-information/Now the reason that …

HiI've been with Gamespot now for 10 years - noticed that they've got a review out already for Flight. I don't know if you guys at Avsim knew about it. On the whole I thought it was a fair review.http://www.gamespot.com/microsoft-flight/reviews/microsoft-flight-review-6365704/I was a bit harder with my review (Jason210), which can be seen, amongst others by clicking on Player Reviews in the block on the left.Cheers/Jason

Hi there,I know this has little to do with actual flight simulation, but being an aviation based forum, this is at least partially appropriate; what aeroplane or space vehicle do you think represents the pinnacle of engineering endeavour?Personally, I believe it is Concorde, the performance statistics are just monumental and even its range and capacity weren't terrible (granted they weren't great either) by the standards of regular airliners of the era. Compared to other supersonic craft however, it is in a league of its own, even today, supercruise is uncommon, but Concorde could even pass its MMO without the aid of reheat; that would be impressive even if it only carrie…

I see avsim has implemented where someone can give you plus or minus for posts. I don's agree with the fact that I can't see who gave me a negative for my post. I know all about the flame wars that would come with that but I just don't agree that someone can say I don't like that post so I will give them a negative. Weather you see them or not Tom, doesn't matter. Sorry.JimCYWG

Well, I searched but didn't see anyone else previously posting on this.I went to the microsoft.com/games/flight page and decided to watch their promo video. Well, it's being served from YouTube, which of course, then gives you tiles of related videosI thought it was kind of funny that, on their main promo page, that the "What a really bad dude Thinks of Flight" video ends up getting prominently highlighted after their promo video, lol. Oops! :)You'd think Microsoft would have the resources to post this video in their own space?

we all say we are flight simmers or we say we are going to go flight simming. Well think about it, man if that doesn't sound super nerdy what does...it's no wonder people look at us with odd faces. What is a better way of saying what we do? What would be a better term or whatever to come up with that would make our hobby more serious.Funny thing is, once I explain it to people, saying that real pilots do this, you can actually go out and buy REAL aviation charts and and study REAL aviation principles/rules, etc and actually use them.and that we can "fly" with REAL weather, etc, etc.then the look goes to being rather oohhh, serious..so... I think I'll go...simulation fly…
