Hangar Chat

This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar.  Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here.  Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc.  Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view.  We allow some latitude, but please remember that, first and foremost, this is a flight-simulator oriented site frequented by people from all walks of life.

  3. Hi If you haven't heard already, thought I'd announced this great news - this quote from Eagle Dynamics, producers of the DCS series: Source: TFC/ED Newsletter, April 2012 This effectively means a simulator platform, instead of study sim. Nice that 3rd party stuff will be allowed!

It's my timid question yet I'm curious... I ain't no expert in marketing thingy or such and it is not my business to dig developers policy in marketing (and so are you non developers) but we pay for their products, thus little knowledge on this won't harm them. I wonder Is creating a product that compatible for FSX or FS9 only costs less than working on dual compatibility pack (FSX/FS9)? I'm aware (aren't we all?) that PMDG has stated their disappointment with Douglas 11 selling. I don't know if other developers which released "combo" products had the same "failure" but the case may slightly differ, I'm not really sure but I think iFLy is fairly satisfied with their …

I'm kinda new to the civilian sim scene. I abandoned the civilian sims ten years or so ago in favor of sims like the DCS A-10 which I think I'm pretty proficient in.Now, having returned to civilian flight sims I'm very surprised to see how much progress had been made in the area of payware add-ons. Some of these planes are just plain amazing! Same goes for the scenery. But I must say: it is quite expensive once you start on a shopping spree what with the planes and the scenery add-ons and whatnot. I have already spent $250 and I'm not finished yet and that's not even counting the actual sim (x-plane $80 and P3D $50). How much have you guys spent on this and do you also pla…

  14. In a week or so I will be off to the states for the first time to visit New York for a couple of days. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect from the flight? So far I have gathered that it will be an British Airways (Operated By American Airlines) 757-200. I am slightly confused about what level of entertainment will be available since AA's website says that personal entertainment devices are in all classes for international flights however the 757 does not have this. Also what will the seats will be like and will it be worth asking for an upgrade on the return flight since it will be overnight? All I can say is I am defiantly looking forward to se…

after husband/pilot dies in flight. Looks like she bounced it and colapsed the nose gear, but considering the report is that she lost the right engine and the left was going out (due to fuel starvation) not so bad a landing all considered. Reports is that she had "100s" of hours alongside her husband, and did a llittle stick time at one point as a precaution, so I suppose you couldn't call her a complete noob at it. http://www.fox11online.com/dpp/news/local/lakeshore/plane-makes-hard-landing-in-door-county scott s. .
