I have two problems with my FSX Bay Area scenery running addons US Cities X SF and Flightbeam KSFO. They are both great products but,.... Ever since I downloaded Flightbeam/MegaAirportScenery KSFO I cannot create flightplans to or from KSFO using FS Commander. The FS Commander support forum says, basically, too bad, it can't be fixed. When trying to create flightplan to/from SFO FS Commander says cannot create flighplan with airports without runways (something like that). I tried rebuilding the airport database (FSC) but that didn't work. Also, my GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE DISAPPEARED! It's not there anymore! It's been gone a few weeks now but was always there befor…

Whatever it is, I want to have it! B) Don't mind the PR phrases ('creating the future', never heard that one before ^_^ ) but do mind how nicely they've 'modelled' the leaning into a curve. Bit of a motorcycle way.

Hello all, We are a new museum in the process of starting up in Canada (Vancouver BC area) and we need all the help we can get from you folks. Has anybody got experience in converting a DC-3 cockpit into a flight simulator? What is needed for hardware and software connections, what flightsim program is the best to use and on and on it goes. We have a beta web site for the museum that can be seen here: http://simulationmuseum.sharepoint.com In the coming months we will be reaching out to the Avsim members and look forward to getting a helping hand. Best regards Kai Hansen, President NAMFS

I've been revisiting FSX Gold and embarked recently on X-plane10, while still being a true fanatic for FLIGHT (still the best overall GA "flying" experience over any simulator I have used so far...). I tried to find out how propwash effects are modeled on the three simulators. For the tests I picked the default Cub and p-51 (Reno Air Races model in FSX Gold) in FSX, the Carbon Cub Deluxe and the Red Tail p-51 in FLIGHT and a few very nice WW1 freeware aircraft in X-Plane 10 b8. Here are my findings ;-) - FSX and FLIGHT: You have propwash effects on the horizontal stab and elevator, thus allowing you to lift the tail from the ground, and even try to maintain it…

Hi guys, I was watching a show on the History Channel, when all of a sudden a strange plane showed up. please excuse the awful cell phone quality. I thought it was a B-1 prototype, then a Boeing 2707 prototype, but AFAIK that never flew. Any thoughts?

Waaaaaaaayyy to much personal information on these sites, which are semi-regularly hacked, not to mention being focal points for information stealing virus and etc. Robberies like this are not uncommon, which is why you should never post that you are leaving your house, even for a few hours, or post pictures of your enticeingly nice possessions..... http://www.digitaltr...d-within-hours/ Quickly attracting unwanted attention from criminals, a teenager in Australia failed to use her common sense when posting a photo on Facebook As mentioned by the BBC News recently, a 17-year-old girl was visiting her grandmother in Sydney, Australia when she took a …

Decent jet but "access" to their support forum is maddening. I have provided IRIS with the relevant purchase info. twice but when I try to get to the forum, I'm told that page is not available and that I have no right to access it anyway. Damn poor advertising for their product. Anybody else fighting this problem. Eric

With the new wireless technologies do you think Boeing/Airbus would ever consider putting in some kind of fly by wireless system? I know it sounds mad but maybe having the wires there as a backup system would work also. I don't know the failure rate of the fly by wire, but possibly removing the cable could be something for the future?

Not sure you remember the QF A380 which had an engine blow out on departure from Singapore...the big Bus suffered massive damage from the debris... Just saw this announcement... Quote...My book about the QF32 flight, aptly called "QF32" and published by Pan Macmillan is finished. The book will be formally launched by the media on 21 July and the book will be available at the end of the month. The dust cover looks good, except that the publisher wanted my photo on the front - not what I wanted, but so be it. The book can be ordered from www.QF32.Aero(delivery world wide), Amazon (electronic only) or any Australian bookshop. I have signed all books that are …

It was 25 years ago tonite that Northwest flight 255 crashed at Detroit Metro airport. Being part of a group working the crash site, it brings back some very somber, unpleasant memories. May God grant peace and comfort to the families and friends of those that parished that nite. I know I will never forget them.

I have been following this story and we get a different POV on it here in New Zealand compared to the talk back in the USA. Kim Dotcom is celebrating a legal victory this evening after his case is unravelling very quickly.....Goes to show the difficulties of filing Indictments on people in other countries. Here is the article from our news source: http://www.stuff.co....s-ruled-illegal Full Judgement Here: http://static.stuff.co.nz/files/DotCom I don't like Piracy however my POV is simple, that people should be tried in their own countries instead. Australia and New Zealand have their own distribution and copyright laws that had been violated, since Kim…

Flight simulation is one of my favorite hobby's and I enjoy doing it and sharing my experience with people on this forum,I have been doing it six years , not as much as the older members of the community but I still think I can give an honest opinion. I am sick to death of my hobby being dependent on a software that has a infinity number of faults. Most noticeably the random crashing issue,a few weeks ago I gave FSX a break because I was sick of wasting hours of my life on a piece of crap program, that wastes hours on my life , the only reason I overcome my hatred day after day towards this program is to use the NGX and the other brilliant add ons available . I came ba…

JK! But damn it wouldn't that be great. They ought to take the Flight skeleton (mostly dynamics) and pair it with some basic graphics. That base with their fleet all for under $150. I would be sold in a heartbeat. ...and now back to life.
