Folks There was a three part Brit airline satire (from the '80s I think) that was talked about here a few weeks back, and my marginal Internet search ability has let me down... There was a bit about how the name of the journo was wrong and had to stay that way for the paperwork and a bit about how the air got from a to f over the wing etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can watch the rest? Obviously it's not Come Fly With Me. ;-) Thanks Mike

http://lebanon-expre...9ea0d17a13.html Jeff Kropf is one of my best friends whom I just spent several days with this fall. "Tebo" was not only a friend but a brother in the faith, a fellow airplane enthusiast and one of the finest men I will ever know. I just had the phone call and it is hard to take. Kind regards,

Whether this was posted before or not, I saw a commercial about London City Airport on YouTube. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suckling_Airways Suckling Airways? Really? That's just an interesting name for an airline! They fly between the UK and Ireland along with inter-UK flights, however, this month, they will cut all services with aircraft being transferred to LoganAir.

Hello, I am wondering about the grounding order of the 787. If an airline have had their 787 on a airport other then the home, are they allowed to transit the 787 without passengers to home hub or is this a strict order and the 787 is not allowed to fly anymore at all?

http://www.independent.ie/business/irish/ryanair-to-buy-200-boeings-in-18bn-order-29123271.html Looks like that little insignificant airline in the west of Europe has ordered another 200 737s... Still, much as I despise the day that company was born, news is news, and a very nice order for Boeing to get... Sim City 5 was released this week, got my hands on the collectors edition earlier today. First initial impressions, great game, great visuals/graphics etc...gameplay...well thats the problem. You cannot connect to a server in order to play the game, thats right. Its online only which is a real disappointment. Got a chance to play the tutorial (only for 50 seconds or so). The DRM doesn't help either. it just goes to show how 'lucky' we were back 9-10 years ago when Sim City 4 was totally offline and playable. I have really looked forward to playing Sim City 5 for a long while now, its just a real shame they had to mess things up... Anyone else taken the plunge …

Hey guys, thank you for your efforts in developing a great flight sim, it really goes to show what you can do with an iPad. Also thanks in advance for the future updates. I thought I would give you my thoughts on feature that would improve the game for me personally. I am a GA Pilot and so I few suggestions maybe around GA flying rather than the larger commercial beasts. 1. Working Cockpit. I am sure you get his alot but it the main feature that is missing, working dials. I am sure that it is very difficult to achieve and so my suggestion to is start small, a Pipe J3 cub would be perfect and would open up to the smaller grass strips just waiting to be explore…

Read this great story this morning. It's a long article, but it's worth reading and has a very positive message about life as well as about the camaraderie that pilots share. http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/09/living/higher-call-military-chivalry/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 Regards, John

First off let me say I was so happy when flat screen monitors became the norm versus the old CRT option but recently I'm starting to get annoyed with mine (flat screen). I have a 23" LG monitor that annoys the heck out of me at night. It's hard to describe but the edges black out when flying at night as I look around. Using TrackIR when I look around the VC I notice there's this line of sight very focused that's all but straight ahead and outside of that around the edges it gradually blackens making the night darker than it really is. A well lite VC helps allot like the Feelthere and Captainsim cockpits but this is a problem. Another way to describe this is problem wh…

Lufthansa Cargo MD-11F around the World in 66 Hours. An interesting video showing how these old freighters are true work horses and how multiple crews will fly this MD-11 around the world carrying all kinds of cargo. For you sim pilots that experience these annoying overspeed warnings due to sudden wind shifts, and slow climb rates, you'll see it happens in real life too. The next time you simulate a freighter flight, best take along an extra package of coffee. The coffee will be used, but not always for drinking. RJ

Hi guys I wanted to share with you my latest endeavor into the world of children's book publishing. I have written and with the help of a good friend illustrated my first children's book called Pilot Tails. Hopefully the first in a series that I am self publishing. However, I need your help! In order to cover the steep cost of bringing this book to print, I have launched a Kickstarter campaign (http://kck.st/14qCOdN) to raise the funds needed to achieve my goal. Please help by spreading the word (facebook/twitter) and if able donate. I have setup great rewards at various funding levels. Check out more at http://www.pilottails.com @FlyingRoscoe Thanks for everything! …

I have just completed my very first flight from KLAX to PHNL. Everything during the flight was superb and absolutely beautiful flying into a setting tropical sun. I configure the aircraft perfectly (well) for short final and the ils doesn't capture the glideslope. Then it's elbows and nether regions which is totally unsuccessful and I end up in the bay. Nearly six hours. Don't you hate that? I should ask: Why does it pick ils 8l at phnl to decide not to work? Is it maybe fsx. Jon

Hi, I'm heading into the final months of a degree in game design and have proposed an ATC Sim for Tablets as my final project. My lectureres are not very familiar with the flightsim genre of gaming and are unsure of the existance of enough enthusiasts to generate demand for such a sim and therefore doubt the project has merit. I understand their concerns, it is after all a degree in "Game" design and sims by their very nature tend to be more realism based. They are however open to convincing, and this is where you come in to play. I would VERY much appreciate if you would take this short (5 question survey) http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/G5NJN38 If…

Last February, one of Aeroflot's SSJ-100 aborted take off after having one of its engines failed, Sheremtyevo, Moscow. Sukhoi blamed Aeroflot for lacking of maintanance.. thats smart, but the world is getting smarter... Few days ago, another SSJ-100 forced to return after having its landing gear failed to retract, forcing the pilot did 'RTB' from Shremtyevo to doh.. Sheremetyevo. The flight was intended to Grizhny. no one was hurt, except sukhoi.. Despite the not so happy occurrences, Sky Aviation Indonesia hasnt changed their mind, in fact, the first of 12 was delivered last February 27th. Aannnnddd..... SSJ 100 LR (Long Range) is being tested, expecting cert…

Time and time again, the staff here recommend Google Chrome to our members. I was a split second away from switching to Safari for better syncing with my iOS devices, and relied on an old friend first--Google. I found this interesting test between different browsers, and it appears our recommendations weren't in vain. http://lifehacker.com/browserspeedtests A note on IE10: Some users have noticed IE10 is not yet compatible with CKEDITOR.js, which is what quick reply and the normal reply box uses for simple features like the use of the return/enter key. The work around for now is to hit F12 while in IE10, and change Document Mode to IE9 Standards. This is n…

I was contemplating. Do modern aircraft paints, impart a positive aerodynamic effect on the hull of say, a 747 and does the extra weight of the paint, cancel out any efficiency advantage? The reason I ask is because there must be a lot of titanium dioxide in those paints and it's heavy stuff. It could be merely an advertising thing but with fuel burn paramount, these days, do airlines consider this? Jon

Hi all, I have a Serious Request???? Last week I was trying to buy this scenery at SimMarket! http://www.pilote-virtuel.com/viewtopic.php?id=46372 They told me this company does not exist anymore since 2011. I bought the Blu ray disk about Air Austral: Air Austral Boeing 737-800, 777-200LR & 777-300ER (2012) The scenery is the home base of Air Austral. Downloaded the livery Air Austral 737NGX-800 And I want to fly the 737NGX from here with this scenery! My question is if there is anybody who want to sell me this scenery???? Or does anybody know another way to get this scenery and where???? Please send me a PM?? Thanks Robert
