  2. Hi folks, recently I was heading for Tegucigalpa, Toncontin, MHTG again, expecting the challenging RNAV landing to runway 02. Curiously I checked YouTube and found the following landing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJoXMcehrYo ... where the 737 is brought down as it seems (perspective!) not before half of the runway was gone. The pilots brake as hard as possible -- nevetheless you expect almost that you see the plane vanishing downslope behind the runway. However, still speady they turn off (I think) via the last taxiway. Everything is fine. Really? Given that this very landing might not have been dangerous at all (again: Perspective an…

So, we've been coming up with a new approach to interacting with our customers over the past while, and we're on the edge of implementing it. Take a look at this vid to see the changes that are enroute. :LMAO: Okay, on a more serious note, a couple of days early for April Fools, but none the less still a hoot. :LMAO: Happy Easter to all, Regards, Ró.

Hello. My TM Cougar Hotas went out this week. The common problem of the gimbal mounts being made of pot metal and failing occurred. I do have a new Warthog ordered, I like some of the features of the old Cougar and it seems a waste to unload it. Since TM no longer works on these, is there anyone who fixes them privately? A while back some users were offering upgraded gimbal sets, better pots, etc. I'm willing to consider anyone who can fix this using replacement parts if I can buy them from TM, or having the units upgraded with improved internals. THANK YOU for any help.

From a 24" WS to a 27" monitor and it's vastly improved my fps and the whole flightsim experience. Using TRackIR is also working sweeter too. Seems to me that 27" is the way to go. Any other views?

  11. I have a 737-800 the problem is the wing inspection light stays on during flight only way to turn it off is turn off all lights in flight or leave it on during flight. i know some of the airbus panels have the wing switch in the panel to turn it on and off. is there a free one for a 737-800? I tryied to put a a320 panel with a 737-800 and worked fine with the switch put the flaps didnt work with that panel. so if there is a panel that is free that has the wing light switch built in please post the link so i can go back flying it. Thank you so much.

Okay, perhaps this has a pretty obvious answer, but it's been nagging me for a while now. What are the airport procedures for pilots of private/corporate jets? Their planes aren't parked at gates, and I'm pretty sure they don't have to go through security, so where would they enter an international airport? Is there a particular terminal for them to register flightplans, after which they just walk to their plane? Thanks, Bram Osterhout

  18. Since avsim doesn't have a 'talk about avsim' option anywhere, please feel free to move this to whichever is the most relevant forum, but make sure someone is aware of the problem please. For the last couple of days the FSX forums have been rendering incorrectly on firefox and chrome, the problem seems to be firehawk44's name messes up the justification/table layout somehow: To clarify, that's about 50% wider than my browser is normally set, it's normally readable, even with the wider setting shown here, it's barely usable with the columns messing up.

ok is this normal usally i fly the 737 and the 757 but i have a 747-400 at 300 for speed and at 15 thousand feet she dont sit level at all does tilts up some but when i put flaps down to 1 then she levels off so does this mean i have to fly with flaps down to position 1 while i am at the speed the whole rest of the flight or no? is there a setting off or something.

  21. Hello all, Since i was little I've always wanted to become a pilot. I live in France, and am working on my PPL (i have my class 2). My main goal after high school/secondary school is to start flight traing in the UK, or even in Australia. I have done a lot of research on the schools available and the requirements, and of course one of those is to be able to pass a class 1 medical (JAA or EASA) for UK. For your information, i have ambyopia which reduces the vision in my left eye but it is corrected with glasses (and i meet the vision requirements with glasses). however, in the standards in the eyesight section for class 1 medical it states: (a) Applicants shall not posses…

With airfare prices going up the last couple of years, I've stopped flying as often for pleasure. Granted, I've burned much more cash on necessary home improvements compared to vacations. Even short flights are expensive despite all those articles I've read about how to get the cheapest fare, they just aren't there anymore. Of course, flying out of Newark, NJ is expensive. Maybe in two years when the house is paid off and home improvements somewhat done, I'll fly more. Of course, my property taxes will be nearly equivalent to my mortgage by then. How about you?

On Wednesday I'll have some great pictures and story to share. I live about 45 mikes from Dyess AFB which houses a huge wing of B1-B Lancers. I let a group of guys come down to hunt hogs and took them on a few guided hunts as thanks for their service. Today out of the blue one of them, a Lt. Col, called and has set up Sim time for me and my two brothers Wednesday. Ill post all the pics I can and share what goes on in training as soon as I get back. I'm 37 and feel like a 5 year old kid on Christmas Eve.
