  2. This is pretty neat. A 727 does a couple low approaches to a short field airport near PANC and then lands in order to donate it to the GA school.

Need your help guys.. with Captain Sim 777-200/300 and how to set up a 2D panel like the JB777 Panel. I know some will say, it’s better to use VC and I respect this feeling, but I like a 2D panel and the JB777 one is clear.. When you get a little older you need a clear panel.. The product version is now 1.000 and this is the version I have and also there two versions Captain_Sim.x773.sys.gau & Captain_Sim.x777.sys.gau, I can get the under carriage to show up but not make rudder or flaps work.. Anyway.. If anyone out in the big FSX AVSIM world has done, please let me know how to fix. Cheers Bobj

  5. You know you spend too much time on FSX/X-Plane when: 1. You're sat on a real airplane looking out of the window, thinking "Wow good graphics, no blurries". 2. You know the exact name of the approach, and can see the VOR out the window and know its frequency and name, and that the plane is about to turn. 3. The best picture you have of your holiday is the one you took of the cockpit of the 737 4. You have charts on your iPad and check them during a real flight as a passenger. 5. When the plane is going down the runway, you say in your head "V1, V2, Rotate" Also I used to be a nervous flyer, the PMDG 737 has cured me. I now know just how safe these things are a…

A pilot I know--in fact the pilot who helped me obtain my Sport Pilot student license, was involved in a crash earlier this week. His Challenger II Microlight suffered an engine malfunction and he had to land his aircraft on a two lane highway near Phoenix. He landed safely but his aircraft hit a road sign and he went off the road. His aircraft was totaled but he and his passenger walked away uninjured. He's the first pilot I've known personally who has had an accident. He's been a presence at most of the airshows I've went to. Ironically, his Challenger would have been the aircraft I used, had I resumed my training. He's a CFI and has offered many times to hel…

Just saw this today and it has to be my favorite cockpit video for an airliner. Great video with quite a few approaches and landings. And watch how he manipulates the sidestick, crazy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nYDba1UsgHc#!

I am a bit confused about the PC-12 (Flight1) range. Different sites cite the range of the aircraft as anything between 1500 nm and 2600 nm! Now Irealize that rnge can depend on load, wind, speed and altitude, but there must be a standard. The producer of the real aircraft quotes a range of 1500 nm with 3 passengers, and there is a version with 9 passengers and there is a cargo version. I have flown around the World in this aircraft and was achieving about the 2200 nm range the simulator advertises - I was probably alone, but it was over a year ago and I don't remember. But today Iset up a flight in Ideal Flight from Quebec to Varadero about 1500 nm), and I had to st…

I'm going to be up in Sedona, AZ in a couple of weeks and being a sea level flat-lander I think I should seize the opportunity to get some instruction. Has anyone done training up in this area and are there any schools they would refer? My instructors are not familiar with anyone out there. Thanks!

  13. This may bring some comfort to payware developers. It is a new 5 or 6 strikes and you're out system put in place by the major internet providers to protect copyright material. http://www.copyright...m-set-to-begin/ Comcast is the first to launch the "CAS" system (Copyright Alert System), with AT&T, Cablevision, Time-Warner and Verizon to follow. They say that they cannot cut-off offenders connections, but they can reduce connection speeds and block popular websites. They say that the program is intended to educate offenders to the copyright laws in the U.S.

Hi all, As a little boy, I always wanted to become an airline pilot, but I've pretty much already given up on that. The reason is, my eyes are not the best. I am not necessarily visually impaired, but my eyes are are just a bit under the average, which is not good enough to become an airline pilot. First of all, my vision is not 20/20 (or 100% in Dutch measurements), my maximum vision per eye is around 17/20 (85%) max. The requirements for airline pilot are 20/20 (100%) vision. Also, I use corrective lences because I have a spheric deviation of -6.50 Dioptres and a cylindric deviation of -1.25. I know that is not within the limits for an airline pilot in Europe (limit…

Am still amazed....in only just over 6 years, they have built a WHOLE new airport to replace good old SEQU in Quito, Ecuador. Spurred on by the Iberia A340-600 overrun in 2006 (http://avherald.com/h?article=422bdd7d) , the Government fast-tracked the reaplacement airport, which was built 18kms away from the city, the new ICAO designator is SEQM. http://www.sangay.com/ecuadorguide/ecuador/new-quito-international-airport-starts-operating-february-20-2013/ I still say I am amazed...here it has taken over 15 years to start contruction of a much needed parallel runway for YBBN, and as for the replacement of Sydney airport...well, let's just not go there.

I for one won't be on that a/c when the battery explodes possibly ruptiring the hull etc etc etc. l-ion batteries are too much of a risk. They don't take kindly to high charge rates. Overheating is a common problem during high charges.
