Howdy! Basically, we've been going non-stop since last year's GDC and Game Connection, where we were one of the Selected Projects. So many cool opportunities have come our way since then! It's certainly been a roller coaster ride as some projects come to fruition while others fade away. Someday, I will have to write a book. In the meantime, here's a quick rundown. Between the Game Connection Selected Projects invitation and introductions by Dr. Sylvia Earle and her ocean-awareness non-profit Mission Blue, we spent last summer and fall showing the game at iFest (Seattle), SxSW Eco (Austin), Mobile Games Forum (Seattle), HP Sprout Launch (NYC), BLUE Ocean Film Festival…

Hi guys So heres the deal. A friend of mine here in Sydney Australia , has been building a full 737 for the past 2 years. With a couple of us helping with the build when we can. I would say it's 99% finished with just basically few small bits left to get flying. This sim can & hopefully be used for a bussiness opportunity, it's that good. The sim is based in part of a factory warehouse on the northern beaches in Sydney, but due to circumstances it needs too be rehoused. The proposal is too find a new location for sim & in return for housing it they have a full 737 sim too use. Basically looking for some free spare space in Sydney area. Any questions just …

I'm trying to come up with a realistic way to generate customers in a simulated air charter company and wanted to know how the real companies do this? I would expect the normal, web/seo stuff, social networking twitter, fb, etc..magazine ads, etc word of mouth.. what I'm trying to figure out is the expense associated with something like this.. I've come up with a little method I have used and that is for every airport that I want to offer my air charter service to. For every $1000 I spend on advertising per month I get one 6 sided die to roll per day.. only on a roll of a 6 do I get a customer(s) to fly... so that if I spend $5000/month on one airport I ge…

Is there one on Avsim? Or on some other site? I am talking something where just ordinary users, like me, can discus how to use the features, etc. Flight1's site, as far as I can see, is more to do with installation concerns. I am more concerned with how to use the product, i.e., how do I make a flight plan utilizing airways, for example.

I hope admin. will not mind me posting this here - it is after all the 1st of April 2015. I have just posted a short video called 'Arriving Heathrow' on the Video Library, under the 'Home Cockpit Videos' section. Taken from my 737-800 home built cockpit - landing 27L (day) and 09R (night) - Heathrow London. I think this really has to be as real as it gets!!!!! Enjoy

Due to my age and health issues, I'll never qualify for a PPL. I've often wondered though to what degree a simulation flight compares to an actual one. The obvious differences are the physical senses are compromised in simming. Hearing would be similar, but the senses of touch, smell and "feeling" the effect of wind on the plane are all absent in simulation. So, if you fly from point A to B in real life, that experience would be 100% true. Now, doing the same flight on your computer lowers that experience to a an unknown quantity. That brings me to my questions. 1) What percentage of an actual flight do you experience in your simming sessions? …

Just read, Air Canada 624 overrun the runway and sufferec considerable damage at Halifax. Aircraft appears extensively damaged but thankfully no fatalities. Weather in Halifax is horrendous at the moment, it looks like it landed in the middle of a blizzard.

Due to strict US regulations Amazon is now testing Drones in Canada. Reason being is in Canada they will give a you a restricted airspace for testing and certify the vehicle in as quick as 20 days, compared to up to 6 months for certifications in the USA with very few licences granted, also the technology will become obsolete before you can get certification from FAA. The location is 'secret' by apparently it is located in British Columbia near the Washington border, I am sure the locals know exactly where it is. http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/amazon-tests-delivery-drones-at-a-secret-site-in-canada-here-s-why-1.3015425 http://www.theguardian.com/technology/201…

X-Plane Pilot: Actually i don't know, but Ha! anyway P3D Pilot: Ok then glad we sorted that out. So have you any planes for the weekend? I have reluctantly decided to postpone all further flight sim activities. Unfortunately the problems of the Humberside region in the United Kingdom preclude the safe enjoyment of the hobby and is further hampered by the lack of local contacts in the form of a definite and active flight sim group or society in the area. I hope one day that I can return to this enjoyable pastime in a better world and where perhaps more local support is available. Highlights to me have been FsiPanel to practice approaches with the heavies and seeing the continual improvement of Prepar3D. I am sure for those of you who pursue this hobby and consider yourselves lucky to enjoy it will conti…

DISCLAIMER: Sorry if this is not posted in the right place; I just thought this looks a suitable place. Hey Guys! My first post of many to come on the Avsim forums! Avsim is a nice enough community so I thought I would let you guys know of my plans for Saturday, and hopefully get some donations through! With the CTP event coming in less than ONE week, and me streaming it I thought it would be a good idea to stream the whole thing with it being 7 hours+. I will be starting the stream at around 10AM with my take off slot being at 11:45. The flight is EGLL - KBOS. The charity is Cancer Research UK; you can see the just giving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/jackf…

While this page focuses on the downed Germanwings flight, at the bottom of this page, is a great video of what the world would look like (with its major cities) with all polar ice melt compete. Pretty sobering...but...towards the end of the video, they show North America...and watch what happens to the State of Florida....!!!!!! Check out New Orleans, as well as San Diego.... People think that Miami would be gone? How 'bout the ENTIRE state of Florida......just watch! wow...and worth a full few minutes watching....and right at the bottom of the page... http://www.businessinsider.com/germanwings-flight-4u9525-cockpit-voice-recorder-was-damaged-in-the-crash-20…
