Just a heads up that fspilotshop.com appear to have had a security breach involving their email database. I began receiving spam on a unique email address that was only ever used at fspilotshop.com. After contacting them they advised We believe we have located and sealed the possible breach. We were testing our newsletter subscription process and some e-mails from the list may have been accessible for a short period of time. I have been assured that no credit card data was compromised but they did not advise whether any other data was included in the breach. If you use the same password on multiple sites you may want to consider changing them.

There seems to be a bit of a grey area in answering this question, as I wasn't able to find an absolutely definitive response. Anecdotal evidence seems to support that night flying gliders was once popular in Poland but I found no info on current practices. Other evidence indicates that upward into the 1970's the practice was at least tolerated/loosely regulated in the UK, and apparently the US as well, leading to several accidents. Current information however, indicates a grey area right now, especially with gliders that are also LSA's Is there a definitive yes/no answer to this?

Anybody know what's going on at VATTASTIC. Every time I try to run it, all I get is "VATTASTIC is Loading." This goes on for hours and nothing ever happens. The site answers a ping so it is still out there. It used to work really well and many times was more dependable than VATSPY. I did a Google search but there are no recent postings. I did see where they have events and are looking for financial support but I would think it should be difficult to raise money if the site doesn't work.

  7. I hope this is the right place here. (Don't want to shell out $20 for an A.net account or get shot down at PPRuNe just yet.) I'm working on a crude numerical simulation of a CFM56-7B24 for my Master Thesis and need some numbers for validation puposes. The thrust of said engine at ISA is known (24000 lbs), but I can't find anything regarding N1, EGT and Fuel Flow (or TSFC) during a standard day (ISA) takeoff. The 737 FCOM I have from Continental only says that the (company) N1 limit for a 738/739 at (near) ISA conditions is 98%. Any 737NG drivers here who can help me out? NGX users are allowed to chime in, too as PMDGs claim to 95% accuracy is good enough for my …

How many of you have seen this before? A company called "Flightsoft" is selling boxed packages featuring DC-10 flights to various destinations across the globe. I remember seeing them for sale a while ago on amazon, but I recently also found boxed copies at my local MicroCenter, all for 29.99. What is the story behind these products? The included DC-10 is very obviously the freeware SGA model. Did they have permission to use it? Are the packages any more than a bundle of saved flights (load from the mission menu, get ATC clearance and follow the GPS flight plan)? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=flightsoft&sprefix=fl…

Ever feel that the FS World is conspiring to ruin your entire day. After years of tweaking, endless payware purchases, a new 6 core based system and other hardware purchases, I go to perform a very simple task ie. drop a couple of .pln files from FSCommander into ASN. Error! Can't parse file. Is there any difference between a .pln file and a .PLN file? Jon

I just purchased the 777 for P3D v2.4 and took advantage of the initial 'special' offer. Glad I did. It only cost me $au 120.00 or so. The au$ just hit its lowest point since the gfc at 75c US. NOW, I know this works both ways as last year our currency was $1.10 US but at this rate of exchange I would not be expecting too many sales from this part of the world if I were PMDG. I had hoped that I could collect the same stable of PMDG aircraft for P3D as I have for FSX but a man's gotta eat. I do not broach the subject to hold PMDG culpable in any way. It is just the way the system works but for people on fixed incomes these wonderful aircraft are being put further out of re…

Hello, For Aeronautical Engineering I am studying Aerodynamics, and today I am getting totally confused about lift-induced drag, it is litterally driving me crazy. Now, if you don't know anything about Aerodynamics, you better don't waste your time because things are about to get real complicated... :/ Now, lift-induced drag, inversed propertional to speed. Okay, I understand. Lift is perpendicular to relative wind, and relative wind is opposite to the direction of flight. So if, like in my image, the relative wind line is under an angle, the plane is climbing, right? Now the plane goes flying slower, so obviously lift-induced drag would be increased. …

Download it from here: http://www.fsxwar.com/?lang=en I found out about it over at SimBites: http://simbites.com/comments/12 I've been waiting forever for some news on FSX @ War. I guess they're releasing each module individually. I'm really excited about this. I can't tell you how many times I've been flying around in FSX or P3D and though how awesome it would be to have an excellent combat experience. Anyone else excited?
