Just watched the DTG Twitch Stream about FSW. They said 7 aircraft are included, i noted 6. Is no. 7 a surprise or did i missed one? Piper PA-18 "Cub" Piper PA-28 "Cherokee" Piper PA-34 "Seneca" Piper PA-46 "Malibu Mirage" Diamond DA40 "Star" Diamond DA42 "TwinStar" Added: Van`s RV-7A Planes looking great, Windshield effects great, shadows smooth. But environment still looks like FSX. Popping autogen/textures, blurries, stutters. But in the chat Aimee said they have graphic improvement for the ground on the list. Overall i see a big improvement over Flight School, but still a lot to do.I`m not yet impressed, but there is hope…

After reading PMDG's OP-ED it brought back why I never liked the Steam concept. Now with the advent of a version of FS being 64Bit and the likely forcing of add-on developers to use that platform to distribute thus cutting into profits it's more apparent my dissatisfaction with Steam. Many people praised Steam as the best way to get software to users but realities like PMDG's post is insightful to it's usefulness in this community.

Hi everyone- I just watched a bit of the DTG twitch stream, and I must say I'm happy to hear and see their excitement for FSW. I'm certainly not Warren Buffet, but in my life experience I have learned a thing or two: The people make a business and product successful, not the business model. I've seen sure bets fail and long shots win because of the people who ran it. Although the Steam business structure can be concerning, but if DTG stays the course and is truly committed to community involvement, FSW will be a winner.

Now this looks like fun! Also I immediately imagined this modeled in a sim, complete with a little pilot whose legs could come out as landing gear..........

Hi All, Was just messing with Flight School to get a feel for the Cherokee (I anticipate FSW's will be substantially more complete) and am flying down the NW coast of Washington State. I'm tuned to the HQM VOR on both Nav 1 and 2. And I'm noticing that - even though I'm getting closer to the navaid, I'm occasionally losing the signal, then reacquiring it. I'm at 1,500' so I'm pretty low. Is this: A Bug An LOS issue with the VOR HQM is a high-altitude VOR I believe, but the terrain here is pretty mountainous, and I'm just curious as to whether any kind of LOS modeling has been done for radio navaids. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Custom controller settings for each aircraft, native with the sim GUI. I know this is possible by saving configurations in MSFS, or through the use of FSUIPC profiles, but I miss this as implemented for instance in Rise of Flight and in Digital Combat Simulator. It would be great if sim developers could make a controller profile assignable to a particular aircraft, or, at least, aircraft category - for prop, multiprop, rotary, jet... The it is implemented in DCS Worlds looks to me by far as the best, more practical approach.

not being negative here at all, but want honest opinions about this. and also not saying we might get both i just dont know lol but i want to know how the community thinks about having an sdk versus a mission editor anyhow. i for one in thinking about what made FSX so great, which is what they are building off of, and so far pretty good job... i honestly would prefer an open SDK just like FSX so you have that option for modding or whatever, i mean missions are fun but i would rather have an SDK just like FSX. consider how much community driven content was produced from FS2004 (FS9) A Century Of Flight alone. then add that to FSX. with that in…

I found a pdf of the manual for Dovetails Flight School and was reading through it. I never bought Flight School but am curious what Flight Sim World might have to offer. In noticed that Flight School retained the old, clunky FSX camera system. In comparison, X-plane's camera system is a wonder to behold. I haven't seen any comment on this (maybe I've missed it), but I would urge Dovetail to upgrade their camera system to XP's standards, It is so much better than what FSX came with. (I've never used prepar3d, but would be horrified if the same old system is still in use there too.)

I had posted at least one of these here long, long ago, but I figure enough of an interval has passed and more than enough new people are on the forum that this might be time for a reminder these things are out there. We're going to be running a live stream on Twitch tonight. We'll be addressing common questions about FSW, outlining our road map for Early Access, giving a first look at gameplay and they'll be some copies of Flight Sim World up for grabs in a giveaway. It would be great to see any of you who can join and for those unable to make it, there will be vods made available later.

Carenado revealed on twitter yesterday that they'll be developing a Fokker 50. I'm sure that fans of 'hardcore' planes will be disappointed, but personally I'm very excited. I love commercial turboprops so I'm hoping this means that Carenado will develop more in the future, like the Saab 340, Dornier 328, or Embraer 120.

Two hobbies I am passionate about are flight simming and photography/film. Over the past few months I have been eyeing up a new drone called the DJI Mavic Pro which comes with a 4K camera mounted on a gimbal capable of some incredible footage and photographs. I had always kept an eye on drone technology but never was very interested before now. Well, what can I say after 3 weeks of flying the Mavic Pro? If you like flying and photography then it's a must have. It's a bit pricey (not so much compared to our simming hobby) but I can say if you can afford it, then it's completely worth the cash. The tech inside it is simply incredible. There all sorts of fancy features built…

I observed a man while out shopping the other day. As he approached I noticed he was limping and wearing only one shoe. I said to him: are you Ok, have you lost a shoe. To my surprise, he laughed! Then he said: nope "I found one!" Silly me for asking I suppose.
