I run 2 monitors and in FSW I am having an issue. Running the sim is causing it to render the sim on both monitors. 1st monitor is showing the sim properly, 2nd monitor is blacked out but causes the framerate to drop in half. If I put the sim in Windowed mode it works properly. Anyone else having this issue?

This plane looks great, but the avionics are unfinished at best.. I assume that I am not telling the team anything new, but since they released it in this state, I may as well write it down. - the knob on the STEC autopilot is supposed to be for adjusting VS, not HDG - the G500 left knob should be multifunction and adjust HDG, ALT, etc. ALT does not work - this same knob should increase HDG and VS when turned clockwise with the mouse wheel, not the other way around (popup is correct) - the AP switch in the panel is animated backwards, and should also have an FD setting since the base airplane appears to be a Carenado design, why are the…

Hi I got FSW working on Ubuntu with wine staging once. But after selecting aircraft it crashed and I cannot start anymore. It silently quits. Do I need to reset something? I vaguely remember alike on FSX a long time ago. Deleted all user FSW files but no luck. The same fsw still works ok on Win10 Thanks

The elephant in the room is whether it's P3D or DTS's offerings, the FSX code has been problematic to fix. Because of this I would far from give DTS a hard time fixing it and wish them well. I believe hands down if they were upgrading and/or expanding the FLIGHT engine we'd be have a whole different conversation right now.

I went back and looked at Jordan King's preview video to make sure that my memory wasn't playing tricks on me. Sure enough, the colors and lighting look much more subdued and the night environment is not nearly as dark in his video. The runways are also not blown out and "glowy". He was running v 0.1.15713.0 and the current EA version is 1.0.16311.0. I wonder if something got "broken" before the general release?

I took my first FSW flight out of KATL late last night, the first thing I noticed was that while I was maintaining frame rates in the mid 40s to low 50s, I was also experiencing some pretty pronounced stutters. (The second thing I noticed was that the 5th runway is "finally" included in the default Atlanta scenery...yay !!! ). Since this wasn't my first time around the block with an FSX variant, the first thing I did was go into fsw.cfg and set UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=30 to try to smooth things out. Surprisingly, when I restarted the sim, while the frame counter (shift+Z) showed a target of 30 fps, I was still getting frames well above 40. Obviously, that must be on…

Could someone here give a clue to why in the FSW.cfg is set to [JobScheduler] AffinityMask=-1 (-1)?

so far I'm not at home and all i got is an older laptop available .was wondering if anyone with an up to date system can share on the performance at any bigger airports anywhere in the world ??? if possible post your system specs and settings ??? thanks in advance .....

I have noted good and bad comments reference the new release, and the positives seem to be lighting and aircraft models, I just wonder if DTG had made FSX-SE 64 bit including all the features it had, even including the old default a/c would everybody been happier, as really the only problem people seem to have with it was vas related, all the other limitatioins were got round by ectremely clever external developers, andespecially under the constraint of 32 bit application. I think the danger may be now that it is 64 bit the constraints are off and there may be a danger of bloating exceeding Ram.

It is getting hard to keep track of all the separate threads popping up. Anyhow, we don't seem to have one for CTD's yet so can report my first one just now. Took off from Newcastle in the Seneca. After fiddling with the autopilot realized it wasn't working so attempted to resume manual control. Pushed forward on the stick to reduce pitch, game locked with loss of sound then after about 10 seconds CTD. Will check tomorrow and see if it created any sort of dump file, one would hope there is some means of capturing "assertions" though nothing obvious.

Just wondering if anyone has encountered any problems with FSX after installing FSW? I have the boxed version of FSX that has been running problem free for over two years so am a little apprehensive about installing FSW even though it's steam and my version of FSX is not.

I had some time this morning to install and try this out. I've done a couple flights between KSBP and KSBA in the DA40 and so far I think this is a good start. Problems seen so far: Many things still broken in the G1000, I could not look up dest airport radio freqs. Going Direct To is a problem because it's near impossible to enter the identifier. Text ends up garbled. Trying to type an ID with the keyboard results in duplicated characters. The G1000 is not really useable yet IMO. Tried loading a Proc and then go direct to one of the intermediate waypoints but could not make it work. Click spots for inner/outer knobs are unworkable in 3D, you have to use 2D pop…

Now I see why Microsoft turned in the keys. This community is cannibalistic to a concerning degree. I am now happy to see some far more reasonable voices come forward to support the new products, which like it or not, revived this petulant hobby.

Here is my wish list: LIGHTING - buildings, terrain and object too dark. The runway lights halo way to big (I was able to fix this in FSX through .cfg COLORS - we need an advance menu to calibrate saturation, brightness and contrast HDR would be sweet too. There is a lavender haze CONTROLS - most of us have invested in lots of controllers Goflight/Saitek etc many doesn’t work and the calibration is not good or intuitive. MISCELLANEOUS - Seneca V visor drops down on hard landing and doesn’t retract - NAV display doesn't sink with terrain - Brakes doesn’t work properly. Setting Menu dropdown (The lavender) stay visible in gaming.

So far I haven't been able to get FSW looking how I would like it to look. Nothing like the promos or streams that are about. The scenery is sparse & not a credit to Orbx Global FTX, & the aircraft are "rough" as regards external appearance. The Piper Cub FDE I found to be good. Not sure if it's my settings - but if anyone has installed it & tuned up aspects of it or NVIDIA, or their systems generally, & are happy with the outcome - could they share the tweaks? Thanks TT45

After installing FSW, my Saitek X52 Pro, as well as my Saitek Foot Pedals, worked fine. After a few flights, FSW no longer recognized those peripherals. I can set them up in the Settings section of FSW, but when I go to the flight screen, to begin my flight, no connections. I know that the peripherals are working. I tested them in XP 11 and Aerofly FS2. Anybody else experiencing this condition? Thanks, Joe Long

Yesterday I installed FSW, like many, but I still havnt been able to actually get into the simenvironment. I use Free Flight, select aircraft, weather and airport, I get a 'START' icon on my screen, but then nothing... I've been trying different combinations of aircraft, weather and airport, but it's all the same. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but also no luck. What can I do to enter the flying environment? My specs: Intel i7-4790k @ 4.7GHz, 8GB RAM @ 1800MHz, GTX780 3GB, SSD drives, Win10 64-bit
