  1. FSX only lasted decade because lack of technical support, and for DTG, and I know you guys will be different. Heard you guys are working on simconnect issues for other developers which will resolve for FSX SE users. Since FSLAB, PMDG is already working on p3d v4, you are little late, but it's good to see you're trying to catching up.

  2. As the title says. Did they correct the really basic constant speed prop sound bug ? E.g. X-plane, DCS and even Aerofly FS2 have it correctly simulated. It's one of the basic things you learn when flying planes with constant speed props: You can't adjust power by listening to the sound pitch change like with a fixed pitch prop. If you increase/decrease power there isn't any audible change (as long as you are in the CS prop governing range) IRL. Talking about old bugs...is the mixture simulation also still wrong? E.g. the engine fails if not leaned above approx 10000ft?

  3. The night lighting in XP11 is awesome and it appears that the just announced P3Dv4 will have some sort of similar volumetric lighting (if that's the correct word). So Im wondering what are the plans for the night lighting. At first I couldn't decide if it was Orbx or DTG's responsibility to fix but then I thought that maybe it is the way it is now because you (DTG) have some plans for something much better. or at least that what Im hoping. any news/ teasers etc would be appreciated.

Hi I have registered for this event for the whole weekend and plan to drive from Toronto to this location. I am looking for hotel accommodation but it will have to be few minutes drive away from the location. On the website its mentioned that there will be parking available for attendees. My question is will the parking be available for free for attendees or will it cost less than $20 daily. I am asking this because I would need to leave quickly on Sunday most likely right after 4 pm. It would save me a lot of time if I can leave straight out from the conference back home instead of getting a cab back to hotel. It will be 7.5 hrs journey. Would be nic…

  5. a note to everyone - You can always find ways to mitigate brightness. you can simply decrease the brightness of the lighting in the sky textures or you can add more color. You can also make darker clouds that work with brighter lighting. THERE IS NOTHING that can be done if the base sim is too dark. That's why P3D users are always reaching for PTA or some other lighting modifier. Please don't be so quick to beg for darkness. It limits future possibilities. and to DTG - please consider undoing your recent changes re brightness and consider the myriad of other options available...options other than eliminating available b…

  6. Hello, I've been reading through this forum, both the positive and negative feedback, and I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around what FSW does better (or has the potential to do better) than say P3Dv3 other than being 64 bit, which most of us assume will happen with P3Dv4. Windshield rain looks cool, but that's not enough on its own. In short if I'm happy with P3Dv3, and likely will be more so with v4, what does FSW offer me? Where does FSW fit in the flightsim market? Maybe it is more for casual users and it's not meant for me, if so fair enough. I get that it's vanilla right now, and my P3D is heavily added on to, but even as a base sim, it'…

Anybody else fed up with the constant sniping and criticism of DTG's FSW? I am totally overwhelmed by the negative postings about this new sim. It is a pre- release into the flight sim community asking for comment in order to make it better - but instead of this - we see some pretty sharp sniping and whinging from people expecting a golden standard on immediate release. Personally, I dont' like the initial release, but DTG had the courage to put it out there in its current form asking for constructive comment. I hope they are successful, but it would be helpful for them to be encouraged rather than be slagged off.

  9. Learning that A2A and Aerosoft are also joining soon with their offers. I feel the need for my A2A C172, C182, Comanche, P51d cicil and military, Spitfires, B377... Porting them to DFW, even paying an upgrade fee would be simply Magic! Same appiles to my good old Aerosoft Airbus, which, after all, gave me more joy than any other Airbus for MSFS and derivates I have used... Ah! And the Twotter :-) While Madeira airport in default FSW looks better than in default FSX:SE, I woudl also be glad to port my only add-on scenery for FSX into FSW... From Flight 1 I would gladly bring up the PIC 767 !!! From Carenado, my only FSX add-on and one I really appr…

Hi guys, i know some of you are having performance issues and i know there is a special report form for those issues, but i think it would be interesting to see, what other peoples performance is like. i for myself just dont know if my performance is bad. it looks bad to me and i hoped for better performance. but i just dont know if its typical or not to have a perfomance like this. So for short: if some people post their average fps in sparse are with lots of trees and nothing else and in metropolitan areas like ny, London or similar, along with pc spec, settings in fsw and fixes made to the cfg, this will help everybody to see if their performance is normal, …

Which Flight Sim will be the first to be officially released, XP11, DTG Flight Sim, Aerofly FS 2 (non-beta), Prepar3d 4.0 32 bit or Prepar3d 64 bit? Limited releases and beta releases do not count. Give your rationale.

Ok, what's the best ( if it's even possible... ) way of porting an FSW install, on a PC with a good internet access, to one where the internet runs miserably ? There's that Steam Game Backup option, and I did run it and it created a folder with 25 subfolders named "Disk_1..25" - the 25 install disks ?... Can I simply start the install in the new machine, and then interrupt and restore that backup, without having to download the game twice ? In the new machine, where the backup will be restored, does t"Flight SIm World" have to be installed into the exact same tree structure for it to work ? Say I installed initially to Programs, and in the new mac…

  15. Although I did made a comment about the 3PD (3rd Party Developers) business model issue, I did buy the Early Access edition of FSW. Just to give it a fair chance. I know the business department is not the same as the developers department and I do like to think the devs of FSW are quite passionate about this sim. Also, I really like my current FSX-SE "2017" setup, for me personally only being bottlenecked by the 32-bit limit, wich I already reached with the addons I have. A new debugged 64-bit FSX optimized for current hardware is basically all I need (and of course the money to buy the addons again) Again, that's personal, so don't start one of those very tiring sim comp…

I had an instructor that demanded precision in everything. Stop right AT the limit lines etc. So I was watching the news the other night about someone being fired and all I saw was a Gulfsteam that was glued to the taxi markers. I was really impressed. And then they started down the runway - again glued to the centerline. I am going to practice my taxing. G'day

  18. A common theme of negative FSW reviews centers around the nature of early access. Comments like "this sim isn't ready for release yet" indicate a misunderstanding of what early access is. Additionally, they indicate either a mistrust or a misunderstanding of DTG's intentions. The mistrust I won't address, that's a personal decision and every consumer is entitled to their opinion. I would, however, like to address and attempt to clear up the misunderstandings about early access software. I'll start by defining early access. Without quoting complex legalese by citing a EULA or pre-sales disclaimer, let me define early access software in the following manner: …

From Steam.... http://store.steampowered.com/app/389280/Flight_Sim_World/ Early Access Game Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it develops. Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development Why Early Access? “The current flight sim space is a fountain of experience and expertise, and Early Access is our way of drawing upon that knowledge to make Flight Sim Wor…

  22. Having a flight through FSW today and it struck me the quality of the textures were not great. They are clearly being worked on as for example the night textures and lighting is pretty much absent. Having said this the textures are clearly better than stock FSX, some farm scenes look great but other town scenes don't always look like the screenshots promised, so I wonder if either we got a dumbed down version of FTX Global or may be something isn't working properly. As a reminder the original trailer video which I'm guessing came from P3D is below. However the fact this video was probably taken from P3D shouldn't mean it's better than FSW unless you guys can tel…

Just wondering if DTG has a searchable bug database or if they plan to issue release notes for FSW as it progresses. Release Notes are often included in a software release, and I think are especially important in these early stages. They typically describe any changes from a previous release, call out functions that are not working or missing but are expected to be addressed in the near future, and known bugs that were not considered to be serious enough to block the release, along with possible workarounds. Having such information up front would help users avoid wasting time looking for functions that are not present or working, or to quickly find any newly added fu…
