Its not what you think. So I just saw a post where someone is having problems with micro stutters after a long flight. And we all know stutters can be very frustrating, especially if one has invested heavily in a PC that should be able to handle it. But it drew my attention with one fact....... And I remember years back some guys talking about trans Atlantic flights etc and going to bed and getting up to finish the flight. I for one have never ever been able to "rationalize" flight simulation of flying over the Atlantic or Pacific for hours upon hours of nothing but water at say 35,000'. Why do folks do that? Hi guys, Today my day ended not so good. I came back home and am eagerly tweaking and gathering all airports I want into this sim. Todat I made the decision to buy a large amount of Scenery Aiports of FSDT for P3D V4. When I decided to checkout with Paypal, I had give up VAT ID number. Well, I left it blank of course as I am not buying it as a company but as a customer. Then a dreaded notification came up after verifying the necessary information of Paypal; "Transaction has not been authorized!" (in Red). I thought "What the heck is this?" This latest update has degraded performance everywhere by introducing stutters and it crashes to desktop if I fly out of KDAL. I have flown in and out of KDAL in the Dallas Texas area in previous versions but now it just crashes. I've filed a bug report but dovetail has not listened to any of my other bug reports and they've never listened to me here either so Ill have to be proactive and loud until someone actually listens to me and helps me ...because right now FSW is broken and it wasn't before.

I'd like to give a shout out to DTG for sending both Stephen and Aimee to FlightSimCon 2017! It was a genuine pleasure to meet both of them and have some further insights into the development and future direction of FSW going forward. BTW, Aimee is much better looking than her Avatar would suggest...

I love my Rift and how it works in Aerofly FS 2. For a while I've been saying there is no going back to 2D for me. However... lately I notice I sometimes feel like not using the Rift. Main reasons: the low resolution and the way things are blown up to real life proportions. This week I was confronted with this again after buying Orbx LOWI for Aerofly. I noticed that even though things looked great they also looked pixelated. I am beginning to get annoyed by this more and more. I first encountered this message in my FMC while flying the PMDG 777... I was enroute with my flight level set to FL350, then during that time I looked at the PROG page and it says start STEP CLIMB now, and I look at the LEGS page on my FMC to see that the next few set of waypoints show FL390. Since I never messed with step climbs before or don't understand how it works, I just continued my flight staying at FL350 without any problems. It was a long flight so I didn't want to risk messing it up, but does anyone know what I am suppose to do when I see this message? I am assuming that I dial my altitude to FL390 and hit the button to initiate the step climb and thats all?

I see *TOC which is top of climb and *TOD top of descent, but what does *BDRY mean?

I will be attending Flightsimcon 2017 for the first time this year. I'll be leaving the Chicago area on Thursday morning, and driving towards Windsor Locks, CT stopping overnight in Clarion, PA (about half-way). I'll drive the last segment on Friday morning and arrive in time to pick up my convention materials and register late Friday afternoon. Hi, don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I own FSX Photographic Scenery Generation X by Horizon Vol. 8 Scotland South, Have just tried to re install but disc 2 is slightly damaged and will not install, as there is no support at Horizon or Playsims anymore would anyone know who I can contact to get a copy of disc 2, can anyone advise please?. Regarding autogen, first of all I'd like to give kudos to DTG for implementing alpha-fade, and they did a pretty good job with it too. Popping is far less noticeable. I'd love it if there were some settings to tweak such as distances where fade in begins and ends. Alpha-fade is something simmers have been asking about for years so it's nice to see it implemented. On the other hand, I notice autogen shimmering when flying in tree-heavy areas (and by the say this was around KISB which IRL is not tree-heavy at all, landclass is totally wrong LOL). I compared to FSX in which I use DX10 with Steve's fixer and the following settings: AA: 8xCSAA Transparenc…

I have two of their planes. They have only an archaic contact approach to deal with inquires. They are a small outfit and support through a forum is not available, and closing down the unofficial one here is not going to cause them to open a forum. I have been helped greatly here by having a forum and support "reinstating" it. I am aware there is a review of this decision to close going on, but I thought I would put forward my two cents worth.

I bet I am not alone. I have a "robust" FSX, absolutely loaded with payware and freeware everything....sitting on its own HD collecting dust. I "moved" to P3D V3++ in April 2016, and started loading it up with payware and freeware...its in pretty good shape, very entertaining. And now.... May 18, 2017 I really thought I should move forward into 64bit, and I bought XPlane 11, spend a few weeks, learning, and downloading like mad, as there are bazillions of great addons. Totally blew my internet limit. And dove into this new sim, love it! Out comes FSW...I basically ignored. Just didn't think it was going to be the real deal, don't like the steam thingee. …

I read an interview about him a few years ago and learned that scenery design is his second career. This is his first: What a guy!

The more I use it the more I like it. Now that I have found out how to use the inflight map I like it even more. I find myself flying this sim more than my new P3Dv4 because it just seems more alive. I think it is more fun than the others, at least for me.
